Great food, great service, and great experience over all! I've never seen a "chimney" sub before, so I was super intrigued and decided to give it a try. Turns out, it's a traditional Hungarian street food and this spot happens to service a variety of sweet and savory breads - all baked fresh by the hour! Talk about freshness! I went with the Hungarian on the Jalapeño Cheese bread and it was amazing. Great flavor and the jalapeños complimented the salami, cheese and pickled fillings. Highly recommend you give them a try when in Sarasota!

Tried Kurtos for the first time while we were visiting in Downtown Sarasota and I was blown away by the bread here! The inside is so cute and relaxing they had a side for bread and another side for ice cream. They had a variety of flavors sweet and savory but we decided on two sweet breads one was strawberry and a cinnamon sugar. I LOVED the strawberry bread it was perfect!! I enjoy the swirls of the bread texture is light on the inside and crunchy on outside and the cinnamon sugar bread was really good too. Definitely would recommend.

We found this place via the Farmers Market. I'm so glad we did. The sandwiches are such a treat. You can get savory or sweet depending on what you are in the mood for. The service is always welcoming & helpful.

Stopped by here while waiting for the downtown Sarasota Xmas Parade, & this was definitely a great choice. They have a variety of sweet and savory breads and with that you can have fillings or they can make you a sandwich with it. These are traditional Hungarian bread. The owner is Hungarian and let me know about them. She was very nice and welcoming as well. I ordered the Hungarian and Italian sandwich and she cut them in half and put each half in two containers. I wanted to make sure that we can try both of them. They are so unique and tasty and definitely out of this world. I don't really order sandwiches out bc I always feel like I can make them myself. These are definitely diff than I've tasted with that Hungarian influence. We really loved our sandwiches here and would def love to try their sweet breads and cones. They also serve those with soft serve. This is a very cute cafe and it should def be on your must stop list. It be perfect to eat there, or take it to go and eat it at the park across the street by the water as a picnic!

What a great lunch, my kids declared The Hungarian Sub their all time favorite sandwich. Superb taste & quality, friendly people, a real treat.

Cute little place. The kurtoskalaks were just like we had in Budipest. My kids really enjoyed the ice cream cone versions and the ladies working were so friendly.

Stop right here! This place is so good! It drove my taste buds wild absolutely insanely delicious Asiago chimney cake with an egg omelet inside I totally recommend this place and will be back I totally twist your tastebuds to try this!

Meeting the owner was such a joy!

My daughter took me here when I was visiting from NC, it is one of her favorite spots! Having visited Hungary I loved seeing the beautiful Chimney breads. The owner and staff are very warm and welcoming. I had the Frenchie- I planned to only eat half but it was so delicious I had no leftovers. The creamy Brie with the fruit jam, crisp apple pieces and turkey were divine! My daughter always gets the Hungarian and my husband had the French dip- I had a bite of that too and it was rich and delicious. We brought home some curried chicken pea salad and it was a wonderful snack later in the evening. If you like curry, you must try it. This will be a must visit place Everytime I come to see my daughter. PS- I sampled the ice cream and it was fabulous too.

I love the Hungarian sub . I'm from Hungary and it brings back childhood memories. We live further away but every time we are close we are stopping by just for the food. My kids love the hot dog and the cinnamon kürtös.

Authentic Hungarian chimney cakes. I didn't get a chance to try them in Buda Pest but these are the real deal. Freshly made right out of the oven. The owner explained to us all the different types they make. They even make larger cakes for sandwiches with different toppings. We arrived for dessert and tried a combo cinnamon and walnut. So good and quite addictive. Conveniently located between 2 coffee shops, pick up a coffee to go with your cake. Seating indoors and outside. Definitely check them out for lunch and/or dessert, you won't be disappointed.

Chimney bread is SO COOL!!!! We have been wanting to check this place out and finally walked over. The girl inside was super helpful and not only explained the origin, but all the different flavors, how to eat them and the best pairings. They had a sample on the counter to try (genius!) and she took her time explaining everything to us. We tried a savory cheese one with cream cheese and a sweet cinnamon with Nutella. Wonderful service, nice big clean shop and lots to offer. The chimney bread pulls apart so neat and makes it a breeze to eat. We can't wait to come back and try more!

    Breakfast Panini with Bacon

The breakfast panini is the best breakfast sandwich in Sarasota! Each sandwich is made fresh to order. The cheddar chimney bread is savory and crisp. You can choose between ham, turkey or bacon. They serve O & A coffee, but if you're looking for a fancy drink, O & A and Breaking Wave coffee are on either side. The service is very friendly. With plenty of bread, sandwich & ice cream options, you will love your stop here!

I ordered a breakfast sandwich and was blown away at the flavor! One of the top breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! The woman was very kind inside and told me some history about the breads. You can tell the bread is fresh even in panini form! I will for sure be coming back!

Actually, just get there early anyway because the pastry items are fresher/better. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I typically skip trying to park next to it and just go to the garage and walk over. The service is more attentive than a typical French cafe overseas but not as on top of you as a typical place in the US. You can definitely order at the counter in French if you want to and I've had a waiter there flip between English, French, Spanish, and another language (maybe Romanian?) in one order. The sandwiches I've had were all lovely, and had a little side salad that could benefit from a better dressing (they serve an okay vinaigrette though). I've yet to encounter a single bad pastry - the elcairs, mousse cakes, and flaky pastries like chausson pommes are on par with the typical boulangerie/pattisserie in France and don't make me think US adaptation at all. Prices are reasonable.

I got the poularde crepe, wanting something savory. This was solid and tasty. Everyone else got nice little meals as well. I do feel like the portion and the quality is a little lacking for the price. That being said, I don't know that there are better French options in the area. I also got a palmier pastry and I should have gotten a croissant, the palmier tasted a little stale. The locale was adorable, with beautifully tiles tables really setting the scene. Overall, not terrible! Worthwhile if you're really feeling French.
