The only negative part of our experience was how long the entire process of buying the car took, but this isn't uncommon. Bernie was our sales guy and we really liked him. Jaylen (spelling) helped me with the tech aspect of the car. He was great - helpful & funny! We worked with them on a price we were comfortable with and a decent value for our trade in. We love our new Telluride! I hope future service appointments go as well as this did!

If he earned a commission on the sale, I sincerely hope it was minimal. We also dealt with Dan, who seemed more focused on pushing the sale than actually listening to our concerns. Before purchasing the vehicle, we specifically raised concerns with Kenny, Dan, and Matt Kiscellus, the manager, about potential issues with the control arms and/or ball joints. Matt assured us that a technician would "check it out" before finalizing the sale. When we returned, the car did sound better, which gave us the impression it had been serviced. However, just a few miles after purchase, the clunking noise came back. We immediately contacted the dealership, but neither Kenny nor Dan returned our calls. We had purchased a warranty, but the issue wasn't covered. When service was finally scheduled, the dealership placed the blame on my friend, despite the fact that we had flagged this concern prior to buying the vehicle. Now, the car is in the shop for repairs -- two ball joints, one control arm, and new suspension springs -- and my friend is stuck paying out of pocket for labor, which is well over $400. The dealership offered to cover the parts only, claiming they had already deemed the car "drivable," and are now calling this offer a "good Samaritan" gesture. The car itself (not a Kia) looked nice, but the experience with this dealership has completely ruined the Russ Darrow brand for me. Between the lack of follow-through, poor communication, and zero accountability, I would never recommend purchasing from a Russ Darrow dealership again, and I certainly won't be returning.

Date of visit: December 27, 2025…read more We stopped here mostly on a whim, not expecting to buy a car as the last Mazda lot we perused didn't have anything that we would consider for less than $40K. Since it was on the way back to the freeway anyway, we didn't think it hurt to stop in quickly. Our salesperson was Zach, who was very young and frankly, we had to guide through much of the process. My husband told him what he was looking for and Zach located a CX-5 and brought it out and my husband loved it. Having already done his research on the car, he was okay with moving ahead if we could agree on a price. During the test drive, Zach had told us that they were really motivated to sell since it was so close to the end of the year but when it came time for price, he told us there was no markup on the car. If that was really true, why do we even have to talk about price? We went through a couple rounds of negotiations (it really felt like my own personal version of "Deal or No Deal," minus the ladies) and finally came to a price that was close enough to what we would have gotten through Costco Auto, but not before they tried to push the various protection plans on us and some inconsistencies in the financing percentage. As we really were not expecting to buy a car, we explained that we had a party to attend and we needed to be out in about 75 minutes. If that wasn't doable, we would have to come back another day. They did not meet that time, but got close. Though we would have been out sooner if Jeanne in Financing did not try to resell us all of the same things that we declined with Zach, plus some extras. I do appreciate their working quickly to get us out on a Saturday night, but did not love the back and forth where we talked to Zach and Zach talked to his boss and came back with another offer. And please, I've been driving since before Zach was born, of course there is markup on the car!
