I did a bunch of research before landing on safe swim aquatics and the time spent in the water combined with the cost and location just made sense. All the staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. They make it easy to work classes around last minute schedule changes which is a definite plus especially with young children and are constantly striving to improve in anyway they can to make sure they provide a premium experience for all levels. My son started just after he turned one and I realized after a couple times, I wish I would of started him sooner. He has a severe light sensitivity so pools and water usually make him nervous because of his vision impairment. It took him a couple classes to adjust to the pool but the peer interaction really helped and Ms. April took a gentle approach which made him adjust to the water faster. She makes him feel comfortable to try new things in the water and learn techniques in a fun and playful way. He's all about the songs and toys! We really enjoy the time spent bonding as a parent as well with him in the water. We now have another boy who is about to turn one and with our son advancing his abilities in the water, we plan to start our youngest! If you're where I was a couple years ago and realizing how important water safety and experience is despite owning a pool but living in Southern California, give safe swim aquatics a try! Soon you'll be like me, two years in, and grateful you chose this swim school!

We have a pool at home, so learning water safety was a huge priority for our family. Looking back, I only wish we had started even sooner. The progress he has made in just a couple of months has been incredible. He can float better than most adults I know, and he's already learned how to roll over onto his back and float if he falls into the water. Watching him develop these lifesaving skills has given us so much more confidence around the pool. Like many toddlers, he still cries during some lessons and reaches for me, especially when he's learning a new skill. But I've come to realize that's because he's being challenged, and growth isn't always comfortable. Once he mastered floating, he actually stopped crying for several lessons. Now that he's working on a new skill, the tears have returned a bit which is completely normal. Kris is patient, encouraging, and always makes sure he is safe while helping him build confidence. I truly appreciate how focused the program is on real water safety, not just having fun in the pool. Seeing what my son is capable of at only 18 months old has been amazing. I would highly recommend these lessons to any parent, especially if you have a pool or spend time around water. It's one of the best investments we've made for our son's safety.

There were tears those first few days from both my daughter and me and I wasn't sure I had made the right decision. My daughter had been in traditional swim classes every year since she was 2, and now at 4, we decided to try ISR. While those classes were a great introduction, they were more play-based, and I'll admit I never pushed her. She never even wanted to get her face wet, and we tended to comfort her rather than challenge her. So stepping outside our comfort zone in week one was tough. There were tears, screams, maybe a few scratches, and some very angry looks directed at Miranda by my daughter.. sorry, Miranda.. Knowing the water safety benefits ISR provides, I told myself I'd give it two weeks. To my surprise, by the start of week two, my daughter was excited for swim class. I was beyond shocked. She had developed trust and respect for Miranda and knew she was there to guide and support her. It was truly beautiful to watch. Before I knew it, she was jumping off the steps, swimming, and floating. Watching her go from refusing to get her face wet to confidently jumping in and swimming like a little fish was incredible. I truly cannot recommend The Ripple Effect enough. The confidence and skills my daughter has gained along with the peace of mind for us as parents is truly priceless. We are already looking forward to yearly refreshers!

Our two boys did ISR at similar ages with a different instructor, but we decided to make the 30-minute drive for Miranda--and it was 100% worth it. You can tell she really knows what she's doing and connects so well with the kids. Her schedule was always consistent and reliable, which made a big difference for us. Most importantly, we now feel like our daughter is truly pool safe. Highly recommend to anyone considering ISR!

At 2, my daughter could swim across the pool by herself outside of lessons. Before lessons, my daughter would freak out anytime water touched her face, after just a few lessons with Cathryn, my daughter was literally dunking her head in the bath, and is the biggest water lover now! This summer I took my 1 year old to survival float lessons with Cathryn. The first 2 weeks, my daughter absolutely hated them. Screaming, crying, but floating entirely on her own already. By the end of week 4, my daughter was laughing and lunging herself into the pool. And she absolutely loved Cathryn, cuddling into her every chance she got. Cathryn is so positive and tough in the best way. Both of my daughters absolutely love her. I look forward to taking my youngest back next summer for swim float swim! I genuinely cannot recommend SoCal Water Babies enough. Good swim lessons are SO important, and I have serious faith in her technique. The relief I feel knowing both of my kids have strong survival instincts around water now is great. 10000/10 recommend.
