The steam room has been completely redone, the new tile looks great, the gym is clean, and there's brand new equipment throughout. Vince at the front desk is completely disrespectful and rude , rolling his eyes and giving off such arrogance, you as a company obviously don't value treating your customers with respect. The place is always dirty and packed, you can't get to any machine/any room to do the workouts you want. Not only that, the pool heaters/jets do not turn on till midnight. The gym is great for hitting whatever your focus is and has everything you need but the machines are a little cramped. The new update hopefully should alleviate that. Good people working there but they absolutely have to do something about that wifi. Cell reception is already a dead zone back there on that street so we the people need the wifi. I've been a member of this gym for about three years, and have always had positive experiences with staff but I was very disappointed by my experience this morning 6/20/26 with the employee who identified herself as the new GM, Brianna (long dark hair). After I checked in, she informed me that a photo was now required for member check-ins due to a new policy from upper management. I explained that I was unaware of the policy and would be happy to take the photo on a different day, but offered to provide my ID for verification in the meantime. Her response was, "Then you can't come in," delivered in a dismissive and unprofessional manner. When I asked to speak with someone else in charge, she replied, "It's me, and I'm not asking anyone else for you on the weekend." I understand that policies change and employees are expected to enforce them. My concern is not with the policy itself (although I do think something should be posted to set clear expectations), but with the way the situation was handled. As a long-time member, I expected a much more respectful and customer-focused interaction. If Brianna is indeed your new GM, I would encourage additional training in professionalism and member relations, as experiences like this can drive away loyal clients. read more

Ashley the "only manager" caused me to write this. My last review this place was two years ago And I thought the staffing was awesome I always felt welcome and if I had a problem signing in someone from the front desk would help me. Today is a different issue As they Have updated their app. They send the notifications through email going directly to spam So my wife and I never got the update. We have been coming to powerhouse Menifee since about 2021 and if we ever had a problem, they were able to sign us in or look us up. However, the "manager" Ashley Said there's no other way, they cannot do anything to help us and we can't get through unless we get the new app. So when my wife expressed they were able to help us last time. My wife was given A very bad attitude And told just download the app even after we told them we have Internet connection issues here because cell service is very bad. So We decided to go to the corner so we are not in other people's way to download the app for five minutes and when we turned around, Ashley was talking rudely about my wife with another front desk personnel. When we ask for another manager, she said she's the only one here, Luckily Another front desk David (Who is hands-down way more qualified to be the manager) stepped in to de-escalate The situation. He actually took the time to help us and even offered his hotspot so we could download the app with no further issues. I had a extremely horrible experience with the front desk receptionist Ashley and the manager. They were both very rude and made me extremely uncomfortable with their attitude. They need to understand how to speak to customers with respect because if im respecting you there is no need to disrespect me. I have been going to this gym since 2020. Great experience overall. We recently got an email saying our membership pricing was going to increase. First thing we see when we come into the gym today is a DJ upstairs blasting music loud enough to compete with my noise canceling headphones with flashing lights and ghetto trap music. I came to the gym, not the club last time I checked. This literally ruined our workout today, as it was way too overwhelming. There were also booths crowding the entrance. Checked with the front desk who said this was going to be a monthly occurrence. So our gym membership has increased not for new gym equipment and maintenance, but in order to fund whatever you want to call this? Cancelled my kids club membership and was told by 2 different guys in the front that I would not need to pay another dime from that day forward. I confirmed that with them because I would have needed to change my billing information just in case. They assured me I was good to go! Well few weeks later I'm dealing with a bill and late fees because I didn't know they were trying to charge an account I no longer have. Absolutely no one knows what they're doing and everyone has a different story. I've talked to the billing department multiple times and hr of the gym. Everyone says something different it's so frustrating. Typical money hungry gym just trying to get every last dollar. Can't wait for my membership to end in July. I went to powerhouse for more than 5 years and until recently it was my favorite gym in the area. they have good equipment and the staff is nice. the reason for 1 star is because they're closing their basketball courts. they didn't even bother surveying their clients to see who it would affect. it had been a safe place for high school students to hang out on hot days where they wouldn't get into trouble. even though they have Two areas dedicated to legs they're replacing the basketball courts with another leg room. there's 100 gyms where you can lift weights powerhouse was one of the only places you could hoop. now LA fitness is the only gym in the area where you can play basketball. I find it sad that they didn't give any warning And in fact When a friend of mine complained about it, they cancelled his membership strictly for speaking out. read more

We've been proud Powerhouse Gym members since moving here from San Diego two years ago. Across the board, we've had great experiences at all three locations--Murrieta, Menifee, and San Jacinto. If you're looking for newer equipment, especially machines focused on glute and lower body workouts, both the Murrieta and Menifee locations offer more updated options. That said, we have to give special recognition to the San Jacinto team. While the equipment there is a bit more dated, the staff truly make the difference. Chris, Grace, and Cindy are consistently welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Their positive attitudes are one of the main reasons we still frequent the San Jacinto location--shout out to them for always making us feel valued! As for Menifee, we mainly come here for the steam sauna--one of Powerhouse's standout features. Unlike many gyms that only offer dry saunas, Powerhouse Menifee offers a steam sauna, which is a major plus. However, we've found that it's often out of order. We've since gotten into the habit of calling ahead to confirm whether it's operational before making the trip. Just a suggestion: this is a unique amenity that sets Powerhouse apart, and it could be promoted more--especially if it can be kept consistently functional. It's a great selling point that deserves more attention. Another highlight of the Menifee location is the Kids Club. We've found the staff here to be warm, friendly, and genuinely good with kids. It makes a huge difference when the childcare team is not only professional but also pleasant and welcoming. Compared to other locations, the Kids Club team in Menifee really stands out. Overall, we love Powerhouse Gym and everything it offers across all three locations. The gym is cool for having lots of amenities, but at the monthly cost, you would expect a top notch clean gym. The entire gym is very dirty. This is just in the steam room as an example of what the rest of the gym looks like. Dirty floors and machines. They should consider hiring professional cleaners to deep clean each night. This gym is expensive also at prime morning time they will will decide to clean the weight racks and disrupt your workout. This is one of the cleanest gyms I've ever been to! The staff are constantly cleaning throughout the day, and you can tell they take pride in keeping the equipment and space spotless. Everything feels fresh and well-maintained. The equipment is new and in great condition, and there's a wide variety to choose from. Wish they can add a GH developer and a curve treadmill . They have friendly and welcoming staff member shout out to Lynn. On top of that, they offer amazing extras like an infrared sauna, infrared bed ,cold plunge which is huge bonus after a workout. Pool is dirty and heat does not work all the time. They don't want senior citizens there. Floor in room they have classes and spin is in bad shape so be careful not to trip. I should have read how terrible these reviews are because it would've saved me the time and energy, but so happy I didn't sign up! I called ahead to ask to try out one of the classes since I enjoy going to classes and the sales lady was saying yes - no problem but they will just give you a tour first. After the tour, I was going to head to class and all of a sudden they refused the initial offer of trying the class first. This was shady and flat out lying to try to get the person in the door for sales. Sucks for them because if they kept their word, I would have signed up if I liked the class. We updated our payment method at the front counter in person at the gym, updated the payment method on the Power House app and they still managed to use a payment method that Zack (Manager?) said he deleted from our account. Management is extremely rude and there is absolutely no accountability if they say that they're going to do something, but don't do it! Now that I'm looking on Yelp, most of the bad reviews for this location are about billing issues. Powerhouse has no loyalty with its customer base. Long story short, I was a member for 6 years. Last year I added my daughter and payments went from $10 a month to $50. After a year, she didn't go much so i cancelled. I was hoping to go back to the original $10 but they said they did not offer that any more and my payment was $32 a month....After discussing this with the manager (horrible response time), i said "There's a new EOS down the street and they're offering $10 a month, but I'd prefer to stay here" she just said "sorry we can't do anything". Not only have I joined EOS, the gym is 100x better. Updated and clean, unlike powerhouse. Ive also seen a lot of members from power house there and they have said similar things. Only choose this gym if you're within walking distance. That's the only pro. Customer service is non existent, its old, out dated, smells, and is small. If I could give it zero star that is what it deserves. I had to give 1 star just to put in the review. This place is the absolute worse. I called to get information on the a billing issue and Lynn who said she was a supervisor was the WORST and beyond rude. We signed up for the amenities July of 2023 and never used the gym at all, the only time we set foot in the gym was when we signed up using our insurance and then set out to sign up for the amenities so we could utilize the pool. Fast forward almost a year later I noticed they were double charging my credit card and called to get it resolved and was given the number to ABC Solutions for billing and that was a complete NIGHTMARE! What the company does is somehow sign you up as a cash customer (contradictory) how can I be a cash customer if you are charging a credit card the short end of a long story is they tell you they can not cancel the membership because you are a cash customer and then they will ask you for a letter stating that the Gym gave you permission to call Billing??? This was one of the worst cases of attempting to hold a credit card payment hostage that I have ever seen. Basically, beware of these gym memberships using your credit card because this one makes every effort to continue to pad their pockets. read more

WORST gym in SoCal, I travel alot for work and decided to check out powerhouse gym. First off, employees are rude and giving wrong information and only care about commissions and getting a sale. The equipment is old, dirty, and cheap. I've mentioned multiple times that I was just visiting for a day pass and they had told me I could come back in the morning since i was only here for 2 days since the day pass lasts 24 hours. Ended up coming in the morning and another employee said No in a rude way and was pushing to get a membership EVEN after mentioning multiple times I was only here for 2 days. I called them before to confirm this information and they would not tell me day pass prices or any prices because they wanted me to talk to their sales rep to give me even the day pass prices. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. first off, a year ago, my husband tried to remove his brother and fiance from his membership because they were moving out of town. He was informed that he needed to just send an email to corporate to exclude them from the account. he was given an email by the receptionist at the gym. he sent the request and never heard back from again. 1 year later, we notice we have been getting charged for their membership still. we go to powerhouse speak e thr manager and she says that she will contact the owner and Apologized for giving the wrong email. for a couple weeks we were told we would be getting our money back (mind you it was over $600dls that they had taken out in that year after we wanted to cancel the membership) then after 3 weeks the manager tells my husband that the owner refused to give us our money back that they had been stealing from us for a year and that it was not his problem and we should have noticed sooner.
