Went with my family, spent a lot of money yet the owner was very rude when I asked to try another flavor of ice cream I was denied and told I can't try another he actually snapped at me and said "you've had enough" in a rude tone! My family ended up getting ice cream but due to the rude and nasty encounter I didn't want any but my family spent close to $100 so I think he could have spared a dime size amount of ice cream! Horrible service like he doesn't even want customers. When asking him about flavors he immediately tells us to just pick something and to hurry up, mind you were the only ones in there zero line. He seemed to be visibly annoyed when scooping ice cream when I asked him for sprinkles he answered "are you sure you need all that". 40$ for some store bought freezer burned ice creams ripoff. Will not be returning. not sure if he is the owner or staff but his attitude and hostility was completely uncalled for and down right inappropriate. I don't think I've seen a ruder owner or an individual in my life. I walk in with a group of customers at 8:50 PM when the sign says it closes at 9:30. One of my friends asked for them to name the flavors and the owner said it was simply "too much work" to read them and proceeded to make my friend choose an ice cream on the spot. Another one of my friends asked for the triple fudge brownie flavor and they ended up getting her a chocolate flavor that has no brownies but only nuts and she's allergic to nuts. Simply put, there is nothing Kwality about this place. My family and I stopped in for ice cream after dinner and I was truly left speechless after the interaction I had with the staff on shift. He was an older gentleman who i presume is the owner as I have seen him in there a few times. As I was with my cousins we were paying separately so naturally we order separately. This appeared to be an issue with the gentleman taking our order as he stated we were taking too long to order. Mind you he was the only one scooping ice cream and taking orders so I am not sure how us all yelling our orders at the same time would have sped anything up. However, it got worse. As he was going to ring me up I had asked for sprinkles, normal request at an ice cream place, but apparently that was also too much to ask for. The gentleman rolled his eyes and said "seriously do you see the line." To give you all a visual, the line was me and my 3 cousins. Had I not been in shock with the utter rudeness and disrespect for an item i am paying for I would have just walked out without the ice cream. The worst thing Mahopac has ever done is replace Carvel with this dump. Safe to say I will never be back. Also a quick side note the ice cream was awful and freezer burnt. read more

Upon entering the place, ice cream looked delicious. The young girl behind the counter seemed new but friendly and patient with the kids. The older gentleman on the other hand (who was either the owner or a manager) seemed annoyed and couldn't be bothered. After we ordered, he was very curt with the young girl with how she should do things (punching the orders in the register and cleaning). He showed the girl how to do the orders and was clicking on buttons etc ... then soon after was handling the ice cream trays. He was putting nuts and whatever other pieces are to be on top of the ice cream that people are to choose from. He was tidying up the ice cream and the utensils. He had a little tub of water that he brought over to where the ice cream tubs were and whenever his finger touched the inside of the tub or the ice cream, he rinsed it off in that same water that he was rinsing the utensils in. (side note, not once did I notice him wash his hands since he handled the register) Soooo yeah, probably won't be returning to this ice cream shop. read more

Wow! Went here for the first time last night & was VERY happy! Owner Mr. Vijay (good sign that owner was on the premises) proudly informed us he makes all the ice cream himself. And what wonderful flavors! I had the Nutella which was PERFECT. Sweet, but not overly so. I was in ice cream nirvana! The shop was also very clean. And, the owner & his staff are very friendly. Do yourself a flavor--oops, I mean, favor--& get yourself over to Kwality Ice Cream Shop. Even if you have to make a special trip to Mahopac, the delicious ice cream here will make it worth your while! read more

I asked if they had hard vanilla ice cream. he told me he can't please everybody. I really don't get that some people say owner is rude to employees. My daughter has worked there and she says he's a GREAT boss who goes out of his way to help the kids who work there.
