I used to come to Bliss Dairy Bar all the time in high school--like... I was literally skipping school for this place. So coming back after a while, I had high expectations. But honestly? I don't understand the hype anymore. Everything was just... mid. The boss wrap, and mac and cheese lacked flavor, tasted super bland, and just didn't hit the way I remembered at all. The employees are the biggest issue here. Well, some. Some of them are great. Your business is based on milkshakes and the little Indian girl with the long pony tail can't even make a milkshake after months working there. Black and white shake was a vanilla. Go back for more choc syrup. She puts half a pump and I leave go out to car and realize it's still basically a vanilla shake. So I go back in politely ask for more syrup and she then proceeds to put about 8 pumps in the thing. So I said. Ok now you're just being excessive. She clearly has a bad attitude and doesn't want to work. Oh I forgot to mention. Her pony tail went into my milkshake and she just wiped her hair off and the side of my cup off with a napkin and put the lid on and tried to hand it to me. Needless to say I got a refund. Never going back. Used to get milkshakes all the time. I gave this place another chance after my grilled Cheeses tasted like fish. And after the place had a smell like a piece of raw chicken fell behind the oven and rotted away for months. I feel like the owner has no clue what goes on when he's not there. Was craving this place after a long morning of paddle boarding. Haven't been in a while so I was excited. The girl at the register greeted me, took my order, then waited until after I paid to tell me I needed to put on a shirt. Nowhere inside or outside does it say shirts are required and I have been many times in only a sports bra. Today, I was wearing shorts and a bikini top. I asked if she wanted me to get one from my car even though I'll be sitting outside (which is a parking lot btw), to which she rudely replied, "I mean yeah. It's a rule." I'm not sure what that yellow "seasoning" is that they use on the rice as a standard. I can't even pick out the ingredients, but whatever it is, it is DISGUSTING. I ordered a brown rice bowl, please just give me brown rice. What is that nasty yellow colored oil you are putting on the rice? It tastes like vinegar or something strange. It's awful. I ordered take out and threw the food away. Inedible with that rice. If you are ordering, please remember to tell them to not do that and give you plain rice. So my sons burger was undercooked but he still loved it anyway so it would've been better if they did not under cook it it was the Tony Danza burger which is two layers of grilled cheese with the burger between it. My burger was OK the floors are greasy. To get to the bathroom you have to walk through the kitchen from behind the counter but they serve you. The bathroom really can use an upgrade so can the paint on multiple services like exterior doors and windows. I may give them another shot come summer and see if they can straighten things out but I would really cut a door even in from the outside for that bathroom. Prices are very reasonable my burger was a 6 ounce Bacon cheese with extra pickles lettuce and tomatoes. It was OK I am not happy with the actual bun. We had to scarf down our food so that we wouldn't be late getting back to work. Today was a burger kind of day. So I strolled into Bliss and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the mushroom, onion , blue cheese burger deluxe and belly bombs for my kids. Belly bombs are two burgers and is a perfect meal for two kids. You might think it's two small burgers but they are not. Sweet potato fries and regular fries are delicious but I think they need to make them a little more crispier. Despite that I just love this place! This is my hidden little burger gem in Mahopac. This place is really hit or miss... but mostly miss. Every time I order anything with chicken, which is most of the wraps, the chicken is so dry that it's hardened and impossible to bite through. My last time here I couldn't even bite through the chicken it pulled right out of the wrap. Milkshakes are very good if they don't forget to put them with your to go orders. read more

I typically love this place and do plan on returning but their fries are really gross. I never get anything that comes with fries because they are never good. I have only dined there a few times I usually get takeout. I understand that foods quality can slightly decrease when you take out rather than eat in but it also depends on how late you are for pick up which I'm almost always there before it's ready. I got a salad but my boyfriend got a wrap with sweet potato fries. He was grossed out at the taste and I tried them after. It tasted like they had been thrown into the fryer after being freezer burned and only kept in to fry for 30 seconds. They honestly tasted vile. I don't recommend the fries. Pretty much everything that you would normally get of the frozen/pre-packaged variety can also be had in a store made variety, from the buns to the fries. The owner, Mark, knows his snack, junk, and comfort food like a priest knows his/her holy text. Tacos are pretty good, I get them with chorizo and fresh cilantro (When they have it, which, unfortunately is not all the time.) I'd really like to start seeing that as a permanent feature, every taco needs it's cilantro. (Though they do offer their homemade cilantro sauce, it's just not for me.) Burgers are great, grilled cheeses are loaded and perfectly cooked, fried chicken has mostly been moist and delicious, mac and cheese is great, and has lots of potential for topping, can't wait to try it with chorizzo. With plenty of options for carnivores, and even vegans and vegetarians, Bliss is quite simply an inexpensive, clean, and impeccably friendly place to find exactly what you're craving. Picky eaters and the families who cater to them rejoice, nobody else in the area can provide as eloquently as Bliss. The service was fast and quick for how busy it looked. Not much inside seating and the space is tight but we ordered to go so it wasnt an issue. I would say if youre going strictly for the milkshakes you wont be let down at all. They were really good. The burgers on the other hand werent nearly as good as the milk shakes.
