I'm not sure who wrote the reviews but they were far from our experience. This place is like something you'd see on a hidden camera expose, that you couldn't believe was true. From the minute we were shown to what would be his room, until we left without even registering I felt there was no way I'd leave even someone I despised here, much less a loved one. While the staff seemed polite and kind enough, that's where it ended. This place looks rundown at best, unclean and dilapidated. The people there appeared to be neglected, but that was just from my visual experience, I cannot attest to it. Everything in there looked old and unkempt. Beds were old, as was bedding and curtains. Paint chipped off of the walls in large spots, bathrooms small and rundown. I questioned the case worker who had sent us here and it was confirmed they do not vet these facilities before recommending them. We were not even given an option for out of pocket pricing, so I have no idea how much they charge your insurance. Truly a nightmare experience. They were kind enough to let us borrow a wheelchair to get my husband into our car so I could take him home and care for him there for the few days he needed. Do NOT even consider this place. Just check it off the list and drive on by.

She is perfect for him, we absolutely LOVE her and the relationship they quickly built!!!!!! It's typically challenging to find him a good match since he uses ASL "she knows signs" . I'm already seeing improvement with him using his ASL spontaneously. I should mention that he's probably had in the last 10 years over 20 different SLPs over 5 different offices/companies and hands down. This has been the very best place for him. Thank you OAS center for working with kiddos like my son, to improve the quality of their life....

I came to this clinic needing special therapy services for a child with autism…read moreand 1 time 5 years ago there was a good therapist employed there that worked with our child. The owners bio made me think that this was a stand up place with integrity and values. I emailed for weeks trying to setup an appointment with any therapist- occupational, speech, adaptive physical education etc. The owner kept giving me the run around- I genuinely thought he was working hard to help me find resources. Then, a school nurse appears to assess my son- from this company! Turns out she didn't even know how to conduct a nurse assesment, didn't know how to write a proper report, and had very little professional knowledge, nevermind integrity. I now realize this is one of those exploitive therapy clinics that's not actually interested in ethically treating special needs children. So disappointing given the needs that exist and the potential this place had. Would not trust this center with any kind of evaluations or treatments. Beware. Also everyone should know that you can file a UCP complaint against this company or any employees of it that you work with who engage in unethical practices. You might think since it's a private company you can't do that, but they are given public taxpayer funds to operate and therefore are subject to the same procedures as if a direct employee of the school. Feel free to reach out if you are unfamiliar on how to file a complaint. Parents must keep charters and those working with special needs accountable.

When my son becomes overwhelmed and needs space--sometimes even needing to step into a quiet corner--Gina recognizes this right away and adapts without pressure. That flexibility and understanding helped her build real trust with him. Because Gina listens, observes, and adjusts so thoughtfully, our son feels safe and respected during sessions, and that has made a huge difference in his progress. Was being told certain things that didn't match to what was already known and information from primary physician. Second visit the primary therapist assisting me was exceptional and provided great bedside manner and attention. Even agreed with me on certain issues I had noticed at the location. After I was provided some additional information to assist in my recovery I was then handed off to an assistant who gave me instruction. This is where, in a similar review on Yelp I was waiting to be told to move to next exercise as she was assisting other patients. The assistant that even wrapped up my treatment wasn't the young miss that started it. I'm torn between thinking it's helping each other out or they book too many patients at the same time to properly provide attentive service to each client. They do seem to have a good camaraderie with each other. They had playful banter regarding ability to perform physically better then each other. A patient tried joining but was told no, this wager was not for patients but only therapist. Could have come off a little nicer with the delivery of that info. They have recently renovated, mostly moving desks/tables/chairs around but it did help the layout and flow of the place. I'm truly torn but some therapist (Martha) are worth visiting here. Location: Located in the "pool house" of a retirement community in Lemon Grove right off of Massachusetts Ave. It is situated right next to the pool I can assume to help those who need aquatic exercise/stretching to heal. Since this is the pool house it is one room. Maybe not much bigger than a master bedroom with attached bath. You have: Front Desk, Therapist Desk, 5-6 stretching tables, 6 chairs, 3 stools (for therapist), workout equipment on most free wall spaces, physio balls.... You see how much stuff now add 2 I can assume licensed therapist and 3 assistants with about 6 patients they're helping......... Sardines maybe? Well that's how you feel packed in. When you therapist has to look for a chair to find yeah... This additionally does intrude on privacy as there is none. If you want/need privacy you have to ask to speak to them off to the side. Locations should really post online regarding privacy as you can potentially over here information that can violate HIPAA. Cleanliness: It's par, not sparkling spic and span but works. Overall: Some good points about it but not enough to cover over some of the concerning negatives. I would love to be able to review again and give a better score.

Despite the important work being done in the ABA field, the company consistently fails to support…read moreits employees in meaningful or sustainable ways. One of the most concerning issues is the lack of communication and transparency. Employees often receive no notice when clients cancel sessions, resulting in wasted trips and unpaid time. In such cases, you're either told to clean the facility (an unreasonable expectation outside the role of a Behavior Technician) or you're abruptly reassigned to cover another BT's session without context or consent. The pay is among the lowest in the ABA field, especially when weighed against the emotional and physical demands of the job. The work environment is poorly maintained, with cleanliness being a recurring problem. The facility does NOT look like those posted online. The children's bathrooms and common areas are often unsanitary, raising valid concerns about hygiene, safety, and the general quality of care. A particularly troubling practice is the use of personal items like wipes brought in for one child that get used on other children, without the caregiver's knowledge. Additionally, BTs are often left in the dark about health-related issues like lice until after the situation is already "handled," which puts both staff and other clients at risk. Unsurprisingly, the company suffers from a very high turnover rate, which reflects the broader issues within the organization and further destabilizes the workplace. Overall, they show little regard for employee well-being, professional development, or proper client care. Even by looking at the reviews the only 5 star reviews are for speech therapists, not from the work being done!

Lauren was Luca's therapist even before she joined your practice, and we continued with her there. As Luca is now 4-years-old and I've had the chance to interact with numerous physicians, caretakers, therapists and professionals related to his overall care, I can say with confidence that I am in awe of Lauren. Lauren is a passionate, dedicated and energetic therapist. She showed up to each and every session in our home ready and focused on Luca. She cared very deeply about Luca's progress and went above and beyond to ensure he had every chance to access speech, language and develop to his maximum potential. I appreciated her creative approach to "learn" what Luca liked and disliked, and how she could bring the best out of him. She tailored her activities and approach to Luca's interests and although my nonverbal son is difficult at times to understand from first glance, Lauren successfully navigated their communication styles and was able to have a relationship with Luca. Lauren not only taught Luca, but she also educated my husband and myself, in addition to our nurses and other caretakers to ensure we all had access to learning Luca's best options and what opportunities there are for us all as we continue down this path. She was patient, persistent and opened our eyes to possibilities we would never have known. As a mom, I felt supported fully by Lauren and knew she truly loved my son. That went far beyond any level of care I could ever have asked for - I don't often leave "reviews" but I feel obligated to share how much of a true difference Lauren has made in our lives.
