TL;DR: perfect ingredient ratios! Tables have call buttons. Very vegan/vegetarian friendly with gluten free options! Veggies cooked to perfection. Parking: shared lot. Atmosphere: brightly lit cafe setting, almost like a grocery store. Old school Asian restaurant diner type setting. Service: wait to be seated, you will be watered, order and pay at the table. I thought this was cool--your table has a call button for service if you need anything! Menu: very descriptive and friendly to those with gluten sensitivities or on vegan/vegetarian diets. No photos. Drunken Man: let me tell you, this place has got proportions down to a tee! There was enough veggies and protein and noodle ratios for each bite--I wasn't left with excess noodles like some places leave me hanging with. The veggies are very fresh and crunchy and the basil was still green even when cooked compared to the burnt and black shriveled leaves other restaurants serve. The thin noodles are the perfect al dente texture. Tom Kha Noodle Soup: wonderfully creamy and tangy with a hint of sweetness! Everything was very refreshing and satisfying. I came here spontaneously after watching a movie at the nearby theater. Thai food is my favorite. Upon entering, I saw a sign that said to wait to be seated. There was a huge plant that was blocking the view to the counter in back. I shifted spots a few times to be sure they could see me. I was finally seated, and the kind gentleman pointed out the button on the table to press when I was ready. At first I was really excited to try this place out. Thai food is my favorite cuisine. The menu showed a lot of vegan options. They even had at least 3 vegan desserts and a vegan Thai iced tea. The server came back and took my drink order, I ordered the hot jasmine tea. It was a tea bag in hot water. I couldn't decide what to order. The fresh salad rolls with peanut sauce was not on the menu, but there were so many vegan items that I had a hard time deciding. Finally decided on the red curry. I was asked what spice level, at first I said medium. I was told that their spice tends to run pretty spicy. So I went with mild. I was told I could get chili oil if I needed to spice it up. I'm glad I went with mild, I didn't need the chili oil. The curry had enough flavor, but I felt like it was still lacking something. Since I was dining alone, I usually like to have a book or something to entertain myself. Lacking that, I had my phone with me. But it was an internet dead zone. I couldn't get on the Yelp app to check in. Couldn't play on my other apps. I asked if they had a WiFi code, and sadly they did not. After dinner, I shamefully went to the nearby Barnes and Noble to borrow their WiFi to check in. I'm not in the area very often, but the food didn't wow me enough to want to go back and try it again. read more

I am always happy to see more good food spots open around southwest Washington. My friend recommended this spot and I came here with them the other day and I was pretty satisfied. I got their pad Thai with chicken and it was good pad Thai I would come back for if I am in the area but nothing to rave home about. The place is so clean and feels like home which not much places have this, our food was top notch so delicious and there were so many good options! Found on findmeglutenfree.com as my mom is GF and DF. As promised online, their menu has very prominent labeling for GF and Vegan options! We also had a seafood allergy to be aware of and as sensitive as she is, my mom had NO issues !! Onto the environment: Lobby was well lit, well decorated and music was relaxing. There was only one other party there so we felt pretty lucky to have the place to ourselves. Our waiters were a nice young man and an older man who were very accommodating not only to our dietary needs but were great conversationalists. The entire time we felt welcomed and catered to. Something unique was they had a "call" button for when you want to order, pay or just talk to one of them. My favorite Thai place back in Arizona, I'm sorry, but you've gotten replaced. BEST FOOD EVER. Our meals came out quickly and were super yummy. The whole atmosphere was warm and cozy. I appreciate that the restaurant is open late. Our servers were super nice, too. My only complaint is that they offered us a refill for a drink but then charged us for two separate drinks, so that was an unexpected expense. I wish they'd made it clear that we'd be charged an extra 5 dollars beforehand. BUT, at least we know that's their policy now. We definitely still hope to come back some time. read more

Wow wow wow! I am so blown away by not only the food but the service! This is hands down the best restaurant I have been to in a LONG time! Every single dish was delicious. We ordered crab Rangoon's, spicy noodles, red curry and the garden peanut. The spice is exactly what you ask for! We each got medium spice and it was perfect. A little spice but not too much! If you have low heat tolerance then go with the normal/low spice level. Pricing is great! Got 6 items, including the vegan Thai and only spent 60 dollars. Average of 10 per item is pretty great! Thai ice tea was so good, I've never had a vegan Thai ice team but it tasted super yummy. Like cereal milk! lol but with out the actual milk. I'm so impressed with everything but what left the biggest impression was the service. The owners dad served us and he was the kindest person ever, he genuinely wanted us to have a great experience and made us feel very welcome. 100% will come back here and HIGHLY recommend to others. read more

I used to go to the old Thai place that used to be here and I would always get the chicken pad thai and loved it so much, I came here for the first time the other night, ordered the chicken pad thai and was broken. Been going there for some time but when we came home from vacation recently and ordered from them their food quality changed like overnight. The entrees we usually ordered were now breaded and deep fried instead of just stir fried. My sweet and sour chicken looked like a Chinese version of it and the sauce wasn't even close to what it was before. I love the Vegan selection and have found every dish I've tried to be tasty and with fresh ingredients. My favorite is the Vegan Sweet and Sour Stir Fry and the Spring Rolls. Their food is so delicious the first night we went that now, we've gone twice in the last week. We brought our daughter tonight and she was in love with the food too. We ordered the crispy wontons, drunken women noodles with chicken, peanut sauce pad Thai with chicken, and stir fry basil trio. It all tasted so fresh and authentic. They also make their own homemade ice cream, some of the best ice cream we've ever had! The mango flavor tastes like real mango. The coconut flavor tastes like the coconut sauce that comes on top of mango sticky rice.. so together, they taste like mango sticky rice.. it's fabulous! The owners are extremely nice and service is phenomenal. We love to order on Pad Thai Tuesdays. They offer some of the best Pad Thai that Vancouver has to offer, so being able to order it on special is even better. The food is always fresh and hot upon arrival. This is authentic Thai food, made by actual Thai people who love what they do and being able to share it. If you come on a hot day, try some of the homemade coconut ice cream. Kwan Thai Cuisine has become our weekly go-to restaurant. The food is delicious, with a wide variety of Thai specialties in all shades of spice. The service is a perfect blend of the personal and giving you space to enjoy the food. We are older, so we prefer the booths to the tables, but both are comfortable. The restaurant has an entire wall of windows, which makes it cheerful, and it does a brisk business of take out orders, discretely. The location of Kwans Thai Cuisine is also very good: parking, on a bus line, close to Andresen off Fourth Plain.
