I took two spare keys, that i purchased from Amazon to be programed and cut; I gave him my orginal key; he knew a trick to program one of the spare keys,because it was not a Ford manufactured key, but could not do the second spare key. I am happy that he knew this trick. He cut both spare keys and charged me for both. My question is if he knew there could only be the original and one spare, why did he cut the 2nd spare key, and charge me for it? read more

I've used Kwik-Key twice. Once to change my locks and once to fix my car door that had the lock jammed. Both experiences have been outstanding. When I bought my house, I of course wanted the locks changed. I was very pleased with someone who showed up looking like a professional, which is what you want from a locksmith - you definitely don't want the person in control of the security of your house to look like a shady individual, so it was comforting to have the Kwik-Key manager himself come and do the job. He was quick, thorough, and the price is very reasonable. When I had a problem with my car, I had to go to their office. I watched in amazement as the insides of my car door were soon taken apart and sitting on the ground. I was nervous about whether or not he would be able to put it all back together (especially since he joked that the Japanese car models are the most difficult for him), but he had no issue in fixing my lock and getting everything back to where it needed to be. The whole process took less than an hour and again the price was very reasonable. I can't think of too many other times I will need a locksmith, but as long as I live in La Mesa, I will never go anywhere else. read more

I bought a replacement key from ebay for my late model accord without knowing what the difference of keys were. The guy was upfront and explained right away that it might not work since it was an aftermarket part. He charged the least of all of them and gave me the most information too. Very down to earth guy and evan gave me a discount since i was referred by another guy. He mentioned if it didnt start my ignition he had the right casing for my key and even offered to recut for free. Quick installation and very honest. 2.5 stars. And thats for the speed in getting to my house mainly. I locked myself out of my apt & called stating my doors were locked. $25 travel service fee and quote when he gets to location. fine. Tech gets here and says "150$" umm whoa. says you have a smart lock. I told him that is too high when every other place quoted $70 at the most. so we negoiate and i ask him "so whats the total to get in" He says $90 ttl with fees included. Fine. im cold let me in. So after 25 minutes screen is opened. great. THEN he says "okay done go in" I look at him in shock like what. i said the wood door is locked too. He has the nerve to say oh no cant open that door, smart lock too plus the quote was for ONE LOCK. So when i called the dispatch and told her my DOORS were locked and when i asked you what was the ttl to GET IN you assume only the screen was locked?! common sense people. No, rip offs. He says i can CUT the lock off and replace it for $60 more dollars! I almost cursed him out. To make a long story short, he did not open the wood door, my maintenance man finally came home so was able to. Had the locksmith told me BEFORE he opened the screen that he was only opening one door i wouldve said no! so I had to pay though i didnt want to to open one bottom lock on sceen. I WILL BE REPORTING TO THE BBB and calling in an complaint. read more
