I love this small family restaurant. The food was super tasty. We got the beef spring rolls, pork ban mi and shrimp and pork rice plate. The spring rolls were surprisingly spicy, the ban mi was good but I do wish there was a bit more meat! My husband enjoyed his rice plate. Had an interview and really wanted to try something new since I was out and ended up here, I wanted a banh mi and I am a lover of wings so I ordered the grilled pork banh mi and the cold cut banh mi. The Grilled pork was flavorful and the pickled and fresh veg were good. The cold cut banh mi (which is my fave style) was good the ham and sausage were on point pâté were solid too. My main issue was the banh mi's were skimpy and not as filled as they should have been for that price. I also got a side of pho broth cause in my head I was thinking a French dip style banh mi and I paid like $8 and they only gave me a pint after asking me big or small and me saying big. I am a wing junkie and love 3 piece full Viet wings well the guy that helped me sold me on a "Vietnamese style wing" that was fried then tossed in sauce and tomatoes, onions, bell pepper, and garlic. I was not pleased at first but after trying them I found out they were hella good and my dad who I shared with (bought way too much damn food) he saved that and added it to his breakfast ramen the next day. Side notes: they hooked me up with a Thai coffee while waiting cause it was short staffed. That was really good and I love Thai coffee so I was happy there. This is regarding ordering Banh Bot loc from them. I stopped by the restaurant because I noticed they have the steamed Vietnamese dumplings. My son is half Viet and really wanted some for his bday party. I even search fb marketplace but it's hard to come by in the north bay. You can find them more easily in Sacramento and San Jose. But I definitely wasn't trying to make those commutes for this. And sooo happy they have it here! I ordered 200 pcs and they were good prices. They're a lovely couple who helped me. I came into the establishment and the owner was stressed from what her emotions displayed in the back kitchen, she asked if I was ordering to go I replied yes I would like a mango smoothie. She replied I'm too busy I thought that was very odd in a business prospective. While waiting, we were told we could not dine inside because, according to your staff, we "smelled like marijuana" and that the "owner's daughter had allergies." We were asked to order food to go and then saw a man open the door and place a kickstand to keep it propped open. The situation felt humiliating and discriminatory, especially since we were calm, respectful customers who simply came to eat. Regardless of whether someone believes an odor is unpleasant, the way it was handled -- publicly and without discretion -- was disrespectful and unprofessional. There were no signs posted about such a policy, and we were not behaving in any way that warranted removal or segregation from other customers. We will not be returning, and I hope management will reflect on how this incident was handled to ensure that other customers are not treated this way in the future. read more

I rarely leave food reviews. Only when I feel like my experience was special. This place was special. Hero and Trang husband and wife run this place themselves. First the hospitality. They are the nicest people and I had a Great conversation with them while I was there making you feel right at home. I chose this place because pho is one my favorite foods ever. I am a pho snob and I always seek out new places. I chose this based off of reviews and it did not disappoint. In fact it just became my new favorite spot for pho. When my food arrived at the table and I was about to start loading it up with other stuff Trang told me to try the broth without putting anything in it first. This is the best way to test how good a pho really is. I'm glad I did because this broth doesn't need anything added to it. It is full of flavor and the soup with hearty and cooked to perfection. I was talking to them about how good the broth was, and they said sometimes when they see people loading it up with all kinds of stuff, it kind of hurts their feelings, which is understandable as I was a cook for 15 years professionally. This pho was the best I've had. The small dining room adds to the homely nature of this restaurant. I would recommend this place to anybody that ever wants to have a great experience an amazing food. The service was amazing, the restaurant is family owned and the owners were so friendly and very welcoming even though we came close to closing time. The portions were quite generous considering the pho came out to $13 each! We got the p1 Pho Dac Biet which was an XL size. It had lots of noodles and meat as well as the b4 Bun Bo Hue. I am surprised this place can even stay in business. The "fish sauce" dipping sauce they give you is actually a gross syrupy sauce that is not proper nor tasty. The noodle soup broth is as bland as can be. The spring rolls have ZERO herbs, which is essential to this Vietnamese dish. The soup was nice and warm but it tasted and smelt it too much cinamon. I'm use to having the soup more pork or beef flavored. The pho didn't not have enough tripes for an xl. I would say you get only 1 full beef ball cut in half. The steak was a bit tough. The tendons were nice and tender. But you only get 2 pieces. We also ordered the beef spring rolls. The beef portion was barely any. There were more noodles thank anything. The beef tastes like beef floss. And the spring roll wrapper was chewy. And usually chewy spring rolls mean they have been soaking in water for too long. Or it was pre made and left siting. The peanut sauce didn't ever taste like peanuts. It have chopped nuts on top. The service wasn't the best it's very ugly in there, there were hairs on the outside of the chili oil, I didn't like that that sauces like the soy sauce and chili oil have a plastic spoon inside who knows how many germs is on that spoon.
