Their price was fair and reasonable compared to the other auto shops so I decided to give it a try. The lady at the front was very friendly and seems to really appreciate her clientele. I had never done a smog check before so I didn't know what to expect but the service was conducted quickly and thoroughly. After we passed the smog check, they generated the vehicle report and sent it electronically to the DMV for us, and we were in and out in less than 30 minutes. I needed emergency service stranded in SD from OC, got my car towed after I called four places they said bring it in we will fix it (Valvoline down the street said it was a radiator tube and attachment so I knew what I needed), they went to the dealership after a look got the parts stayed later than their closing to get me on my way. Had I to leave my car they offered to drive me to the train - grateful it was fixed in one visit and on my way home that night! Thank you!!! Good work. Family owned business. However, last time I was there, after replacing my windshield cleaner fluid nozzles, they complained that they underquoted me, then tried to convince me that the washer pump needed replacement, too, evidenced by a puddle of fluid under the truck. But, the fluid was very obviously there from continuously running the pump during tests, which they were weird about acknowledging, and told me that the tubing was half-way out of the pump causing the leak, but also that they needed to inspect it. I checked it out later, everything is fine. I feel like it was a bad faith attempt, and won't return. If they weren't a small business, I'd give them 1 star, but, I do want them to succeed. I got my oil change with Kwon's, their services are a tiny bit pricier than the big chains but not even by that much and it's so much more worth it. With it being family owned they don't cycle through employees like the big chains do. This ensures you to get the same good quality every time and you're not gambling with the low level technician the chain places give the oil changes to. For check engine light diagnosis, I brought my VW GTI to Kwon's auto repair. From the list of issues in test report, Janice recommended addressing the EVAP leak issue first. They found that the washer on the fuel cap was broken, replaced with OEM fuel cap. After this fix, check engine light turned off. Good. I drove the car around for a few days, check engine light remained turned off. Then, a revisit to Kwon's for SMOG test. Passed without incident. All good. The quality of service was 5-star: they found the problem, fixed it, didn't try to upsell (issues with EVAP could have been much more major) and kept me informed thru the process. With regard to value, I had been using another mechanic shop for almost 20 years. To be clear, I am thankful for my previous mechanic's work whenever my car needed repairs. However, after my recent experience with Kwon's, I would recommend Kwon's over my previous mechanic. read more

Unusually high stars for a repair shop I thought I had inspected the reviews for legitimacy but apparently not closely. TLDR; positive reviews are for smog checks, they are scammers for auto repair. They were kind and polite but scammy business practices like I've never experienced. First red flag was how high their diagnostic fee was. Most places charge $50-75, theirs was a whopping $115 which I spotted posted ahead of time but went with it since it should be waived when they do the service right? Right, because I asked her this. They had to order the part I needed and couldn't keep my car on the lot in the meantime because their lot is tiny. Inconvenient but fine. Trouble started when I had to pay the diag fee up front. If they were keeping my car until repair this could have been avoided & unnecessary but since i had to take it I had to pay and deal with them knocking off the paid diag fee off the repair cost later. She printed off a partial invoice that only had the diagnostic service $115 but then wrote on it "+$100 deposit" & charged me $215. NEVER have I been forced to pay a deposit on a part. Oook but then where is my invoice that shows the itemized fees for the part and repair service to be had that this deposit is going toward?? I asked her for this invoice and she TOLD me the repair cost was $361. I asked repeatedly that my diag fee would be coming off that 361 and she insisted yes yes. I left with a sick feeling in my gut knowing I was dumb to go along w this place not giving me a written invoice and showing what i already paid coming off the price. And i was right because when I came back to get the repair I asked to confirm again and NOWWW suddenly the $115 was coming off a never before mentioned total of $476 and $361 was the remaining. Bull lady!!! So we argued for 15 mins about this as she suddenly presented the proper invoice before I finally asked for my deposit back so I could ditch this j. She eventually relented that this was a "miscommunication. Ohhh i see, I didnt know u needed invoice, my first time". Sure it is. Despite having oddly had an "appointment" for the repair at 9:30am, my car sat in the lot until 4:00. Hard pass on auto repair here. read more

This place is a literal NIGHTMARE. They charged me $550 for fixing a door, but then broke my other door which was working PERFECTLY before I left my car with them. They said it happened in the mean time while they were fixing it, so were not liable. WHERE DOES THAT MAKE SENSE. They wanted $350 MORE to fix the door they broke. These people are SCAMMERS. Stay away from this place. Literally in shock, I've never had such a horrible experience with an auto repair shop in my life. If I could give negative stars I would. Unbelievable. read more

If you are looking for an HONEST repair shop with truly FRIENDLY PEOPLE...go to Kwon's. This family owned business has earned the right to be our Family Auto Shop for the rest of our lives. These folk really have integrity, they won't jerk you around, they will not make repairs that you don't authorize and are not looking to gouge you. Kwon's has kept my 1997 200sx going long past its expiration date. Though we will have to get a new car this year, they have saved me at least 10 YEARS of car payments by extending the life of my car at a cost that is no where near what I would have made in car payments. I recently had to leave my car with them, rent a car (got picked up and dropped off by the Enterprise just up the street), and it was ready in just a couple of days.
