I use to take our fur babies to a veterinary clinic in Austin, but we wanted to find one closer to home. We tried a few but were very unsatisfied with them, until we found this veterinary animal hospital. Since bringing in our pets here, we have been very happy and satisfied. They are compassionate and take their time to hear us out and execute the best healthcare possible as needed. Yes can be a bit pricey for some services, but as pet owners we must all look at the future of the health of our pets as they get older and of course unfortunate events that may occur. We took out pet insurance through my husband's work and we also took advantage of their payment options while waiting to get our money back from the pet insurance company. We used scratch pay and were very satisfied with it. We were approved immediately and gave us peace of mind. Recently we lost our beloved Kaipo. We were devastated because we didn't know he had a tumor. Another vet told us that it was probably nothing and not to worry about it. But come to find out it was a tumor and it burst and he had to be put down because he was suffering. He couldn't walk! We brought him to Kyle Animal Hospital where they examined him thoroughly and found the internal bleeding. My fur baby of almost 16 years was put to rest one day before his birth and two days after my birthday. The compassion and the care we experienced with this place was truly heartwarming. It was a time of devastation and sorrow, yet they comforted us with caring and understanding. I take my other fur baby Faith here and my daughter's two cats. Kyle Animal Hospital is the best. My boy was being treated by Dr Gupta, a most caring veterinarian. My dog had pancreatitis, a deadly disease. it came time to put him to sleep, and the process was handled so thoughtfully. The vet took so much time, and we were not rushed. We took our small dog to Kyle Animal Hospital for a routine annual exam and vaccinations. (Our dog is 8 years old and goes yearly for these exams.) She has never had a reaction to the vaccines given to her until last year. Last year she received the Lepto vaccine at KAH and immediately had an adverse reaction. We did not blame the vet or the office and just assumed that she would never receive that vaccine again. Well, yesterday we took her again and got her vaccinations and made sure that they knew she could not take the Lepto Vaccine. They gave her the Rabies and Bordetella... within 2 hours our dogs faced swelled, eyes swelled, and she began vomiting. We rushed her back to KAH and they did treat her for an additional charge. Luckily, today is she is much better and the swelling is going down. However, not one time did KAH call to check on her or to see how she was doing. I do not blame the vets office for the adverse reactions, but I do find it odd that the only time she has had reactions to the vaccines was when they were given by this office. The fact they never called to check on her lets me know that they do not care. We will not be coming back to KAH. Love Pet Hospital here we come. read more

Here we are again with a chronic follow-up with our dog's pancreas. Once more, Dr Gupta kept us appraised of what he was doing and made some good common sense conservative recommendations. These people are salespeople to the point where it becomes unethical. They Will try to tack on a few hundred dollars of unnecessary "tests" every chance they get. I've dealt with vets like this before but was lucky enough to not have an actual issue with my cat back then. I took my cat in for a drop-off appointment at 7am and waited all day for them call me with results and a time for me to be able to pick him up. At 3:30 pm, the doctor called me and informed me that my cat tested postive for "AIDS" (first red flag because cats do not get "AIDS", it's called FIV). To use coded language like "AIDS" to scare me as a way to get me to spend more money IS unethical He abruptly told me that these tests "tend to be wrong" so he's not "comfortable saying he has it yet". Of course, the "only way we'll know for sure" is if we do another test that's $480! As someone who LOVES their cat you can imagine I was in an emotional state already and confused as to how to handle this information. I was lucky to have my mom nearby who is very knowledgeable about cats. I told her- while on the phone with the doctor- "he said my cat has AIDS" The doctor immediately starts yelling "NO, HE DOES NOT HAVE AIDS," Repeatedly. "I'm glad I heard you say that because we can't be sure until we take the [$480] test." She immediately took the phone and, as someone more level-headed than me in that moment, was able to conclude that my cat does in fact have FIV and the doctor was just trying to squeeze as much money out of me as possible. In hindsight, the prospect of more tests didn't even make sense. After all, if these tests are so often wrong, why are they still being used? Also, surely something as substantial as FIV doesn't just show up on a test out of nowhere? Just as you're weary of car mechanics who take advantage of your lack of knowledge, be weary of this place because they play on the same vulnerabilities for money. read more

They helped my pup when she was sick. Of course she got sick on a weekend and our regular vet closer to our house was closed. I was hesitant to try a new place but ended happy with my choice. Emergency vet visits are never fun but I was quite satisfied with the care and felt that the doc was knowledgable and experienced. Thanks to his treatment Wenny was feeling better in a couple days. I trusted these people with my kittens. $500 later they were given a $50 test each they did not need. I was charged for deworming medication without having a fecal test. Other than the cost, this place is amazing. Parking is good. Walk in and you are treated. They are wearing masks and some have gloves so safety is important. They talk to your pet in a calming way and reassure you that the visit will be good. Once they call you with the info on your let, you can pick up and they will explain in detail everything that was done and give recommendations. If this place wasn't so far from us we would continue to take our pup there. read more

She was stuck in her kennel all day and night with a urine saturated blanket. Wanted a refund for that day she wasn't taken care of but they wouldn't do it. Very disappointing... Disappointed with the boarding at Kyle Animal Hospital. They did not feed my dog on Sunday as I requested and should have been done anyways! I gave a small bag of food for Saturday and Sunday (2 night stay) which had hip/joint supp. and treat in the bag. I specifically said, "Sunday morning dump any leftover food and give her the Sunday bag of food. " THIS WAS NOT DONE. The girl who wrote all the info down even called me Saturday 1 hour after I left to confirm, again. They did not give our dog her food on Sunday. Why, because the manager said, it was not written on the kennel chart. Our dog smelled of urine as did her blankets and her Sunday food was given to us Monday at pick up. Well I was hoping to write a nice review but glad I waited. The staff was SUPER friendly but that's about all that's good. I waited almost an hour after my appt to be seen. 13 year old dog, blood in urine, BTW. There two hours, found out bad infection and got prescriptions and some UA tools to take sample back in 10 days..brought it in Thursday afternoon, got a call Friday from Dr around 2pm, called back several times and went to voicemail, left message once. Called again this Sat morning, Dr isn't there and nobody can tell me anything...also told me I called at 5:54...ummm that may have been when I left a message but there's clear photos I tried before then. So now waiting on a DIFFERENT Dr while hopefulLy my dog isn't sitting here still with an infection and no medicine. Not impressed. I pray if somEthing was still wrong more effort would have been made on their part.. ***Update, the Dr that was there did call me back and let me know there was still an infection. I researched this vet clinic online. They have many services on site. I chose this clinic because we have cats that entering their senior years. Cats can become high maintenance as they age. This clinic listened to our concerns and gave more than one option for testing and treatment. They were prompt on scheduling testing and calling in an Rx. We will be returning to the clinic for all our veterinary needs. Something to remember they take emergency cases too, so your wait might be longer at originally anticipated. Today i had to euthanize my 17 year old dog. The staff here were very compassionate and caring especially during this crazy Covid time. They allowed family to stay with Bonita and encouraged us to take our time saying goodbye. I love this vet! I have been twice with my dog. My dog has bad skin allergies that causes him to get rashes under his leg, tail, belly, and on his paws. They answer all of my questions and help me choose the best options to help alleviate my dogs itchiness and pain. I love the atmosphere of this veterinarian office and the staff is so nice! Paid over $400 for two cats shots and then wanted to request grooming they kept implying I had to have other services first and then tack on more services for the extra time they would require to groom one (1) only one 7lb cat. Kristen is the person who went on and on about you still did do this and then there is that you also need to consider this and so forth and so on. She quoted my $170 back in March or April of this year and I finally had enough money saved BUT then she continued to tell me that my cat would also need this and more and more, so I simply do not appreciate greedy companies. I called to ask if I should have been concerned about my dog eating a cough drop. I was told to call another number (even tho I WAS a client). When I called the poison number they informed me they would only help for $65 after I waited a good 15 minutes . I've never had a vet who wouldn't answer a question via phone and just handed me off. Three main things from my experience: 1) Really friendly staff, great follow up and information provided for my 8 week old puppy 2) Unfortunately said staff didn't give me proper instructions on a vaccine (I was NOT told to refrigerate what they gave me). Luckily I found out from another vet that I needed to refrigerate it or else it wouldn't be effective. 3) The vaccines I paid for there cost 4x as much as the average. I've been using Kyle Animal Hospital for about 9 years now. During that time I've had four dogs and four cats. When they had to euthanize (spelling?) one of my dogs and one of my cats and tell me that one had already passed by the time I got there, they were SO compassionate, I felt they were almost crying with me! I LOVE Dr. Offerman (he's been my primary most of my 9 yrs.) and the other doctors here are equally good, kind, compassionate and everything else you'd want in YOUR doctor(s) so is really great for your "babies"! This is definitely a sad review to write, but I wanted all those in the Kyle area to appreciate the good work the Kyle Animal Hospital did for my dog and me. I had an incredible Boston Terrier that would light up a room. Those that didn't like dogs seemed to enjoy his company. Unfortunately, right before Christmas he started having seizures. The Kyle Animal Hospital responded quickly, the entire staff took care of my dog as if he belonged to them, and the vet gave me his home and cell number in the event there was an emergency. Believe me, I took full advantage of it. Even on Christmas he called me and asked how Doc, my dog, was doing. They did everything they could, but his liver was failing and we had to put him to sleep. Everybody at the animal hospital was broken hearted that we had to put him to sleep. The vet even gave me a hug afterwards (which I appreciated). I've been taking my dogs to Kyle Animal Hospital since I moved to Texas in 2007. The staff is always friendly and you can tell they care about your pets. I've had to have older pets euthanized when it was evident they were in pain and not living a quality life. Dr. Cord was so caring and understanding how painful losing a part of your family is. I now live an hour from Kyle and still drive there for my pet care. I hear people say they are a little pricey and that is a concern. I'm always given an estimate before any procedure is done and my choice for or declining something is understandable and I've never felt bad in my decision. It was a good experience there with all the staff and the vet, Dr. Matt. I have to change my mind after I took my puppy to get checked because she might broke her leg from falling of the bed .It was about less than an 24hours. I took her at the Kyle Animal Hospital, she got the X-ray checked. The Vet said her knee is not broken but she needs to have a surgery.I was so confused ,WHYYYY She need to get a SURGERY?????? So he recommened me to go to San Antonio which is the best place and the price is lower than Austin.He said if you decided ,he can make an appointment for me tomorrow.When I heard the price of the surgery$ 1,500- 2,000. I appreciate all the staff at the clinic but have a special place in my heart for Dr. Guy Mathews. He has been caring for one of my dogs, Auggy, since moving to Kyle in 2014. Auggy has had some severe health issues. Dr. Mathews has always been a straight shooter in regard to cost, options, pros/cons, as well as, a wonderful communicator in times of grief and sadness. Recently, I made the decision to euthanize Auggy and Dr. Mathews made the worst decision I've ever made a little easier. I received a sweet card in the mail in which he wrote encouraging words (which were needed). I'm glad to know my other two dogs are in great care at the Kyle Animal Hospital. read more

So I went in on 08/06 to see Dr Dana Greenleaf. I am the proud owner of a brown American Staffordshire Terrier. It was the first time I'd ever been to see a Veterinarian on my own so I was a bit intimidated but Dr Greenleaf and her assistant Arial were very thorough in their presentation of the process and their insight in the services they provided as well as their costs were very clear. This was particularly of concern as I am on a tight budget but they offered so many options that it made the entire visit so much more rewarding. We both walked out of there very pleased and happy!
