I had the worst experience possible on Tuesday, I came in for a two tone highlight, had my day cleared because it takes so long to do my hair --- she immediately starts giving me a bleach wash, I say something because obviously I didn't book a bleach wash and this is gonna cause the worst and tackiest grow out. the hair dresser blames the receptionist ( even though I have a binder w my info in it ) for the miss-information on the apt, and the the receptionist tried to blame me when I " called in and made the apt" I made it IN PERSON, like I do EVERY SIX WEEKS WITH THE SAME F-ING RECEPTIONIST. I literally was in person with that same receptionist and she had the audacity and say I called in and made the wrong apt COULD NOT TAKE ANY ACCOUNTABILITY WHAT SO EVER ( plus I see this receptionist every 6 weeks for the last 3 years, she knows who I am) the hair stylist decided to continue giving me a bleach wash EVEN THOUGH I KEPT INSISTING I HATE THE WAY A BLEACH WASH WOULD LOOK when it grows out. so she said don't worry it's so much cheaper it'll only be $70 and I'll try to add some highlights --- what was I supposed to do? she already started the bleach wash against my will. So she added 5 foils for highlights--- to try to appease me? Even though it was still gonna have shitty outgrowth from the bleach wash--they charged me $165 --- SHE ADDED 5 foils and charged me $100 dollars extra... for 5 FOILS. On a service that is gonna look shitty and I didn't ask for. when I tried saying IM CONFUSED WHY IM PAYING FOR SO MUCH FOR A SERVICE I DIDNT WANT THATS GOING TO LOOK BAD WHEN IT GROWS OUT- and she just said "sorry I might not be your girl" it actually has nothing to do with her and her skills more so the receptionist for bad customer service. the salon took ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY, didn't offer any percentage off or hair treatments the receptionist didn't take any accountability. EVEN AFTER TRYING TO GASLIGHT ME ive never had a worse experience in my life at a hair salon and I've been getting my hair highlighted for 15 years And I will be telling everyone in Simi valley about my terrible experience, and I've been going to that salon for three years now. I'm really upset that I cleared my whole day, just for them to tell me they won't have enough time to give me the service I had booked and then a slap in the face by charging me so much for something that's gonna look awful when it grows out and I'm gonna have to pay someone to fix this bullshit after being over charged by them, and they couldn't even manage saying sorry for their mistakes. read more

My Wife went in wanting a haircut, base color and highlights. When her stylist finally came, she had to consult with the other hairstylists about how to go about my wife's hair. After all that, she decided to just do highlights on her hair because "her hair was already dark" If the customer is coming in wanting to color her hair, don't tell her she shouldn't because her hair is already dark? Next, the stylist does her highlights and is too busy talking with everyone, she even forgets to check on my wife sometimes? So what happens? The highlights comes out extremely blonde! So she asks my wife "Do you want to put Toner in it? Well that's not free, but my wife has to pay for the toner now because she has no choice because she messed up her highlights. Finally, the haircut ‍ she wanted to cut her hair because she wanted a new look. The stylist asks her "Are you sure you wanna cut it this short?" Ugh yeah? That's why we came here! So she cuts her hair to shoulder length but literally straight across! How you would cut a little girls hair. Like can you add some flavor? Some design? Some art? YOU'RE THE HAIRSTYLIST! All of this took almost 4 HOURS!!! For highlights and an ugly haircut. Highlights! Not even a base color. The Highlights & Haircut plus the Toner because she messed up the highlights came out to $235! My wife is so nice she still gave the lady a tip, but I could tell she did not like her experience. I don't usually leave bad reviews but when I pay for my wife to have a day so she can look and feel beautiful after. I want her love her hair if I'm gonna spend almost $300!? There were two other salons I told her to go to but she chose this one because of the reviews. You guys need to train your stylists better so they won't have to ask the other stylists how to do their clients hair. If the client wants to color their hair with highlights, do that! If you have a client that day, your job is to stay with that client the whole day and focus on her hair, don't go just around the salon talking to everybody. Very disappointed. Now I have to comfort my wife and tell her she looks beautiful when I know she doesn't feel beautiful. read more

Just went in for a hair consultation with my mom. (Im 23) She wanted to get her hair dyed jewel tones to boost her confidence a little bit, something fun for the summer as we are going to multiple pop-punk concerts over the next few months. We went in and I immediately clocked the lady who did it as a very unfriendly person. The glittery rainbow smiley face shirt did little to mask her otherwise unpleasant demeanor. When we started to show her pictures of the colors we wanted she started to lazily lift up strands of my mother's hair with an unpleasant grimace on her face and it put avery sour taste in my mouth. She then proceeded to tell us she doesnt think its a good idea at all because the hair is too damaged and would break away. I am here to say its not so damaged as she said. Yes, my mom dyes her hair a darker color with store bought hair dye to keep her appearance nice, but she does not bleach it every other month like I know many young people do. She has probably had it bleached once in the last 8 years to completely fix it so she could feel nice. Hair changes with age and it is the job of stylists to do what the customers ask. Their job is to try to make it look good. Yes, they can offer their opinions, but when it tips over into downright belittling, humiliating, disparaging or deriding, it's not longer a "professional opinion". That is what i felt coming from her whole persona. It is not stylists job to tell customers not to even bother trying and suggest putting cheap synthetic hair in like the customer is not even worth the time. My mom at her age already struggles with her confidence, and this interaction not only made her feel less worthy of anything but made me pretty fucking upset. I would think that a salon (that I have been to several times but will not longer be patroning) whose clientele is mostly older ladies 65+ would understand this but apparently not. Kathy is a superstar!!! I was a bit nervous coming in, as I've only had my hair done twice in my life so I was a little nervous about coming in. I came in for a bleach and tone. I was going from a golden medium blonde ombré to a full-on rooted icy blonde. Kathy consulted and asked all the right questions to get an idea of exactly what I was looking for. She then got to work and was focused, chatting briefly but also letting me relax, close my eyes, play on my phone, etc. she even offered my coffee and donuts! Kathy was super patient with my hair. She took her time to make sure it was absolutely perfect. You can tell she takes a lot of pride in her work and enjoys what she does! The entire process took about 6 hours. All the staff were talking, joking and expressing gratitude towards each other - which is a lovely environment for a client. I walked out of the salon feeling like my stylist was clairvoyant because she did exactly what I had in my mind. I walked out of the salon feeling so confident and happy with the way I looked. Kathy gave me a very reasonable price. She is a great artist and I would recommend her to anyone.
