A few days later, I started to have serious pain and when it got too much to bear I called the office and asked for an emergency appt. They got me in on a Monday morning and I had the tooth extracted. Other dental offices i called didn't want to have anything to do with me on an emergency basis or they weren't taking new patients. I have been a patient of this practice for the past 4-5 years. I am also a patient who is very on top of cleanings and preventative care. However, after the incident that occurred this past weekend, I will be leaving the practice. Short version of the story is I had an office visit for a difficult tooth I needed to get pulled on Thursday. At that visit, I had an exam and x-rays taken. When I went to schedule the appointment to have the tooth pulled, I was told I would have to wait 3 weeks!!! Partially because of my work schedule and partially because they only pull teeth on Wednesdays ‍ despite having multiple dentists at the practice. I woke up with a tooth abscess on Saturday and called the office, knowing they would be closed. However, I knew I needed emergency antibiotics. The voicemail stated if you had an emergency to text the phone number provided. I texted the number and received no response. This means I had to go through the financial and time burden of missing work, being seen by another dentist, getting X-rays, and paying for this duplicate visit at another practice. When I called on Monday, the receptionist questioned which number I texted. Even though I have texted this number multiple times with insurance information etc. She claimed there were no messages; however, I have proof on my end that the text message went through. Although they claim to offer emergency services and tooth extractions, these services are very limited.
