I recently had to file my very first roof claim, only to find out they dated my roof at 44 years old in their system. When I originally took out this policy, I explicitly told Shelley that the roof was 10 to 12 years old, exactly as my professional home inspector had verified. Because of their massive dating error, depreciation and an insanely high deductible kicked in, leaving me with absolutely zero money to help with the replacement. To make matters worse, the customer service has been insulting: The Audacity: Shelley actually told me that once I pay out of pocket to replace the roof myself, I should "be sure to let them know" so they can cover it moving forward. The absolute gall. The Brush-off: She claimed she would "look through her records" to see if I ever followed up with proof of the roof's age 5 years ago. We all know how that goes. Because of this pending claim mess, I feel stuck with her for the moment while she continues to pocket my rising premiums. They don't want to fix anything or give you money to fix anything. 0/10 would not recommend to my worst enemy.
