So disappointing. Came here for Miami spice. The service was pretty bad. They were not attentive at all. Barely checked in. Just was not the level I was expecting especially considering Kyu's reputation as an establishment. The food was nothing to brag about. Maybe they aren't that good with brunch. But the steak was cooked more than medium. The crab Benedict was extremely sad lol. Won't be back.

Loved my experience here! In the heart of wynwood it was the perfect place to grab a bite to eat and enjoy some drinks. I had a friend in town, so we started our afternoon here before being able to walk around and experience all that wynwood has to offer. I truly enjoyed the korean fried chicken and the cocktails. It was so delicious, I even made it a point to come back for Miami Spice and I was not disappointed! Being in wynwood, there is lots of street parking around, but just be mindful of peak hours.

The Korean chicken was tasty, bao bun hit the spot and the Asian sweet potato was good! Cool vibe inside with lots of seating. Service was wicked quick!

Came here for the first time and I must say it was a very cute spot. Our waiter was extremely nice and attentive. The food was good. I loved the scallop toast and sea bass. The drinks were good just needed a tad more alcohol I hate paying for drinks that taste like juice. Besides that it was a great experience . I would try this place out again.

Never ever had a bad meal here! The staff are always great, helpful, friendly. If you want lunch, happy hour, dinner this is your place. The place is very cool with an open floor concept, where you are able to see everything that is happening in the restaurant, kitchen, bar, dinner room, it's pretty great.

Came here for brunch and I couldn't recommend more. We were a large group and we made a reservation. The services was excellent and the food came out fairly quickly. I ordered Kyu's version of the espresso martini, the house cured bacon, and the pancakes. Everything was delicious, especially the pancakes. I think next time I'll try them with the blueberry compote. The miso butter and maple honey combined with the fluffy pancake, was simply perfect and definitely a must try.

Came here a few times for happy hour and am very impressed! They offer happy hour at the bar and the outdoor seating. Both times I sat at the bar! The cocktails and mocktails are great! There are a decent amount of alcohol options on the happy hour menu. The plates on happy hour are small but shareable. My favorites are the cauliflower, crispy rice and filet mignon! The service is always exceptional here, we always have a great time and are well taken care of. I highly suggest dropping by for happy hour!

Great place to come and celebrate with your family and friends! Five of us came to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday and boy was the bill hefty. Was it worth it? IDK, I'm still not convinced. Our server, Katrina was superb! She had lots of patience with us as one of us has allergies. So certain items on our dishes had to be omitted. Very accommodating I would say. She was attentive, always making sure our drinks kept flowing, including our waters. The smell of wood fire didn't not bother me until we left... It's overwhelming smelly. The smell penetrates in your hair and clothes like nobody's business.

We went to Kyu for a Mother's Day lunch. They did a beautiful job to make it a lovely Mother's Day. They gave flowers to all the moms and also had a little box of chocolates for the table as well. Our server was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the softshell crab bao buns, the roasted cauliflower and the Japanese sweet potato. Everything was delicious. It was a wonderful experience.

I came here for a business lunch with colleagues and we all left very happy and full! The lunch special is a great deal at $35 for starters like steak tartare toast (sooo good!), tuna crispy rice (2p) and burrata for +$. The burrata was delicious with a delicious yuzu jam. The sourdough that comes with both the burrata and steak tartare toast was perfect. For the entree, I upgraded to the Chilean seabass (totally worth it). It comes with this mint salad which was surprisingly delicious and refreshing. I tried the brisket and fried chicken dishes as well and both were solid. We got the whole roasted cauliflower to share and it was a great vegetable addition. The sauces underneath the cauliflower were addicting! For dessert, I highly recommend the coconut cake. The ice cream that comes with it is refreshing and perfect to finish your meal. The service was good and the staff were very attentive and fast. I highly recommend this place for a nice budget friendly and delicious lunch or for a nicer family style dinner. I'll be back soon!

Kyu has been around for quite some time and it never disappoints. I almost wish I was drinking because I remember their cocktails being delicious. We went on a Tuesday night and it was not very busy when we arrived but it was packed by the time we left. Service was good, attentive but not hovering. Great food recommendations. It's a beautiful establishment, warm neutral colors. Be careful if you're sitting in a chair and have something heavy (like a book bag) hanging on it tho. If you're not careful the chair can go flying backwards. It happened to 2 people while we were there. Now let's get to the good stuff, the food! My friend is pescatarian and they had tons of veggie and seafood options. We started with the tuna crispy rice, phenomenal probably one of my favorite dishes. We also had the hamachi crudo that is served with sliced jalapeños and micro greens in I believe coconut milk (but could be wrong), whatever it was it was fantastic making this my other favorite plate. Everything was delicious these two just set the tone for a great meal! We also shared the roasted cauliflower and a Thai hot pot with king crab. It was good, probably wouldn't order it again because there's so many good things to try but glad we tried it. All in all the chef at Kyu is hitting all the marks. Aromatic well balanced, flavorful dishes that leave you full and satisfied. I'll definitely be back!

For the price of Kyu I was expecting to be blown away. My takeaway is this - the cocktails were fabulous, true mixology. The servers were all nice and attentive. The chicken had a nice crisp and the sauce was slightly spicy but overall for the price - It was an okay chicken dish! The short rib was cooked to perfection and served with 3 sauces that were all uniquely different from one another. It is a lot of food - so plan to split the short rib. The hamachi it was different than any Hamachi I've ever had, and for that reason, I enjoyed the uniqueness. I would absolutely order the Hamachi again. As for ambience. The restaurant itself is smaller than anticipated. I would skip the outdoor seating. Inside is dark and moody and definitely provides way nicer ambience than outdoors as the restaurant is located on a busy street.

Everything was very delicious!! My first time trying stone pot rice and to see it sizzling like it's on the stove was a sight to see. Korean fried chicken paired up well. The place is noisy with voices carrying on and the seating near the booths was tight. I didn't give it five stars because my rice was burning at the bottom and the server mixed it at table side. The burnt rice was mixed in and our server didn't let us know about the difference in water. We noticed a pitcher of water being passed around after he asked us if we wanted a bottle. Overall, I'll return back to try more items of the menu.

There are posts from 3 and 4 months ago while the restaurant was closed. Did it open for a while and close back down? The website link also no longer works. Has KYU closed down for good?

They are renovating. They will be back is what I was told.

Is this restaurant really closed till October?

    Yes it is sadly.

    What are your vegan options?

Roasted cauliflower can be vegan and the shishito pepper, the broccoli is amazing, the bok choy is good too. I think it's listed on the menu online with a a V. When you go the waiters can walk you through the menu. The non vegans with me enjoyed…

Do they still have their food happy hour menu?

Drinks on happy hour - yes!

Hi i would lile to make a reservation?

Call their main line or make one on open table

Is this place suitable for large groups, 20?

Yes, it could be but note it is very loud in there already so large groups really won't have much intimate time with each other to talk. Also note getting a reservation is difficult so make sure to call way in advance to make that reservation.

    Eat at bar?

Yes you can, but there's little space

    Any parking on site?

Tough area of town to find parking on a crowded afternoon or evening. But street parking is definitely available.... if you're lucky. Much easier to Uber into this area of town.

What is the wait time like to get a seat?

This place is always very packed. I recommend you make a reservation ahead of time. Actually a couple of days in advance same day reservation is still some what difficult. This place is worth it so better have a seat reserved!

What's the dress code, Can you come in after site seeing in shorts?

Hello, Sorry for the delayed response. We are a casual restaurant. Shorts are okay.…

When my wife surprised me for my birthday with a visit to a Michelin star restaurant, I already…read moreknew the experience was going to be special. I must admit, however, that I was a bit, unsure about what could possibly make a Korean barbecue restaurant worthy of a Michelin star. After leaving there, I found myself questioning why it only received one star. The meal was in a word perfect. Now I have seen a few reviews that mentioned some issues. I can confidently say that since the time those reviews were written, any of the problems mentioned have been addressed because there was nothing about my dinner experience there that could have been improved upon. Food, quality, presentation, service, and even the vibe of the restaurant contributed to the excellence that permitted the entire evening. No, I would say that this is a far cry from the Korean barbecue restaurant that you would bring your family to but strangely enough there were a number of families here, including small children. And everybody seemed happy. Wanting the ultimate experience we ordered the Omakase. Omakase is something that I have always associated with just sushi so seeing a meat Omakase was pretty excited. And it exceeded any expectations I might've had. Unlike the standard Korean barbecue restaurants, the cooks come over and make sure that every piece of meat is perfectly prepared. I don't know if it was because of my birthday or if it is always part of the Omakase, but they began the service with delicious top shelf, champagne. This was followed by an amouse bouche a fresh golden Uni on top of a Washington state oyster. The oyster was a perfect balance of briney and sweet, in combined well with the rather nuanced taste of the uni. Little did, I know that the perfection of this small bite would be carried on through every part of the meal. A cup of bone broth was brought out to drink. Some upscale Korean restaurants I have eaten at in the past serve bone broth, but it's not something that I had seen locally and I really do enjoy it. The first meat dish we were served was called steak and eggs. This was a unique creation of filet mignon tarte and caviar. The caviar added wonderful texture and a bit of saltiness that made the dish outstanding. This was followed by ample portions of filet mignon, skirt, steak, ribeye, ribeye, Again, I would note that the staff cooked each piece perfectly before placing it on our plates. Next came mushroom and skirt steak. Seasoned with salt it was quite enjoyable. So was the 45 day dry age Ribeye and 45 day dry age Rib eye cap. The Rice cake that followed was tasty, but I must admit was not in the same way as any of the other ingredients. Then came the over the top, premium meats, the American wagyu, Japanese wagyu, and LA galbi American A5 wagyu. An unexpected taste treat was the Japanese A5 in ginchi broth with noodles. Sides included Dehydrated chinrse lettuce stem Okra Kimchi cabbage, Scallion onion salad Egg soufflé After this male okra could become my new favorite vegetable; all of the kimchi varieties were superb, and the egg soufflé was delightful, although filling. I must admit it was too good not to overindulge. I probably would not have ordered dessert because I was so full, but they gave me a birthday dessert as well as some fresh fruit, which was a perfect finish to a perfect meal. Love this place and I do know there are some far less expensive options than the omakase so I do plan to be back. Highly recommended as among Miami's finest.
