[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very nice date spot with great outdoor seating that has a view of the water with boats going by.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Got the miso soup and truffle yellowtail roll which were both good. Service was fine. Prices are elevated, but you're paying for a lovely location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior is nice too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The couple of menu items I tried were not out of this world, but willing to come back and try more.

Definitely try scallop and shrimp garlic butter dish, it was mind blowing. Appetizers are also great, good choices. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
My family wanted to take me out for Mother's Day and they know I enjoy a restaurant with a great view. They were able to snag a reservation and we celebrated Mother's Day for brunch. As we walked in there was a line outside, which was a good sign means that people wanted to eat here. I'm glad I didn't get a reservation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated out by the water. What a great view of the Miami river.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The water helps keep the area outside cool along with the fans.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was brought out as ready. All of the seafood was fresh. They have a daily specials menu where we got tuna and salmon hand rolls. We really enjoyed our time and I would think about coming back.
Absolutely love coming here for happy hour 4-7pm everyday, even the weekends for food and drinks. Been going here for 2 years and so far everything we've eaten and ordered has been great. I love their sticky ribs, sushi rolls, and spicy edamame. I don't drink alcohol but my friends love their drinks when we dine here. The severs are also super great, Luis is the best one there! We go here for date night and even to celebrate my birthday with 20 guests. They are very accommodating and friendly here.
Many Many years ago, I have been to their previous location in Miami Beach for an event and ever since wanted to go back. So fast forward to October 28th 2025 I found myself in the area of their new location at the River Landing Mall along the Miami River for some legal things that had to take the day off to deal with. To reward myself, was able to have lunch that day so had excitedly pounced on Tanuki here and it blew me away! [[HIGHLIGHT]]With not much effort driving into this big building complex of shoppes and condos, driving up the ramp a few levels to find parking, then taking elevator down to the first floor, you come to Tanuki on the river that has a relaxing covered outdoor seating area or when going inside one is whisked away into an amazing well decorated Asian themd space![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Being the only one there, I opted for the bar area and glad I did as it had good views in every direction as well as through the windows to the outdoor area. It is here I had the pleasure of Gerrick the excellent bartender taking care of everything and answering questions and making suggestions. For drinks I had wanted a mocktail so the menu intrigued me with a Blackberry Yuzu Nojito, he made suggestions about how sweet I wanted it which was very nice for a bar to so! I got it not too sweet and was perfectly balanced being a great tasting drink reminiscent of a Mojito but with blackberry taste yet lighter on sugar content. Very very nice. Onto the food! Hungry! The restaurant is modern Asian fusion which their menu offers Japanese, Chineese and pan-Asian dishes to choose from. I had a hard time deciding! OK, two items caught my eye and had to order them both: Truffled Yellowtail Sushi roll and the Duck Dim Sum. OMG both were beautiful and amazing The Truffled Yellowtail was well plated on that dish and their truffle sauce lightly poured ontop. I love truffled anything and this took this sushi to a whole other level! So had enjoyed it so much. This vibrant orange wrapped Duck Dim Sum sits in its steaming basket, what a delight to see. Placing one in your mouth you are treated to a soft blanket sensation wrapping your tongue while chewing and the flavors are oh so Devine. I enjoyed the range of duck and other flavors going on and had to savor each piece by alternating this with the Yellow tail sushi and cleansing my palate with drinking the Blackberry Yuzu Nojito! It was so much fun taking it all in while eating looking around, interecrimg with the bartender. Dessert: Ok originally did not plan on dessert (was already full) but Gerrick talked me into getting the Lemongrass Creme Brule with three mixed berries. Again the presentation was very nice and when trying it the texture as I recall is like other creme brulees have had before but the flavor was subtly different. Not amazingly different, just subtle with a hint of Lemongrass. Would I order it again? Maybe not but then again next time try something else that might wow me. This was for sure a phenominal lunch spot hands down. Oh and I learned from Gerrick that on the weekends they have Live music from2pm until 4pm(?) And then later in the evening again have more live music. I definitely want to go back for that! Lastly, The River Landing Mall provides 2 hour free parking but I had too much fun and went over that so had to pay about $5 or so, which honestly is not bad. This would be a Mall to be tempted to stay and discover or shop or walk off the Caroline's consumed :). Oh and leaving the mall could be a pain if wanting to turn left to catch the road back to the highway ESPECIALLY if traffic backed up due to whatever reason (drawbridge up perhaps?). I had to navigate that mess. But wont let this deter me from coming back Solid restaurant Tanuki is.
I wanted a quick bite for lunch and stopped in here to have a roll and a drink. I sat at the bar and the bartender was wonderful. My roll was delicious! The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the bar faces the river and the outdoor patio. It was a weekday and pretty quiet so I got to talk to the staff, all very nice. Definitely will be back.
Wonderful dining experience and Tanuki! The staff provided fantastic hospitality, delicious drinks, while [[HIGHLIGHT]]entertaining palettes and vibes with a fire show and DJ spinning lovely Brazilian-Afro Beats[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]facing Miami River with yachts passing by[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Highly recommended! Definitely looking forward to returning soon witu my crew
Had a really good experience at Tanuki. We ordered the Black Dragon roll, Truffle Yellowtail roll, Mongolian beef, and Pad See Ew. Both sushi rolls were really good and the fish tasted fresh. The Truffle Yellowtail was especially flavorful. The Pad See Ew and Mongolian beef were also very flavorful and tasted authentic. The only downside was the rice that came with the Mongolian beef, was a bit dry. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is really nice with a waterfront view, which makes the atmosphere great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall a great spot for both sushi and hot dishes, would definitely come back to try the other dishes.
The ambiance is a 10/10 with river front views and great outdoor seating, however, the food was disappointing. Unimpressed with my happy hour cocktail (happy hour until 7pm on Friday), for $9 still pricey! We decided to skip the Miami Spice menu because it didn't have anything interesting. Crab rangoon contained absolutely no crab, was just cream cheese. Super expensive for fried cream cheese. I had such high hopes for the mango salmon. As you can see in the pics, not much mango other than a few unripe squares and not incorporated into the flavor, but just a garnish. Beautifully presented. Worst insult of the night, when I started to eat it, it was not only barely warm, but completely uncooked on the inside. Essentially, I was served raw salmon. Zero flavor and very watery and soggy. I pointed it out to our server and asked for it to be cooked more and well done. Received no apology from manager, nothing comped or offered for the completely undercooked (raw) salmon I received. When it came back out, my mango and most of the asparagus was missing, so I got less back on my plate than what I sent back to the kitchen. Absolutely terrible way to treat your customers. Cheesecake was another underwhelming and expensive item we ordered for dessert. Courteous service. Overall, this was highly disappointing and the food didn't match the good reviews.
Located 8 minutes from Miami university hospital . In an outdoor shopping mall . Very nice view of the intercostal. Ambiance had very cool Asian look with lots of visual esthetics to take in. The sushi roll was very tasty . The sashimi/ nigiri was a bit expensive for the place but the turo quality was spot on. Melted in our mouths. The miso soup was really Exceptional as well , lots of flavor and I was quite impressed. The fried rice was borderline bad in terms of contents and taste but can't win them all. Lastly the Asian martini was also quite good and refreshing .

I love when I go to a restaurant and I leave very happy :) [[HIGHLIGHT]]TANUKI is on the Miami River. The place is stunning. Tons of indoor and outdoor seating with beautiful Miami views. Very insta worthy![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was great. Our server was lovely and up beat and gave us suggestions. Every single dish we tried was delicious and lots of flavor. I love that it had a very decent size menu without it feeling overwhelming. I am ready to go back to try other items. The parking is two hours free in the parking garage which is an insane perk for Miami standards. Can't wait to go back! read more

Came here for a work group lunch and it was a great choice for the occasion. We ordered family style and shared several dishes including the skirt steak, which came beautifully presented on a wood board with pickled onions, cucumber, lettuce cups, and a creamy aioli, We also shared Brussels sprouts, and fried rice with egg. Everything was well portioned for sharing and the table enjoyed it all. We also went all in on desserts and tried the lava cake, chocolate cake, and two standouts worth noting separately. The lemongrass crème brûlée was honestly the best thing we had all night, creamy with a perfectly caramelized top and a subtle flavor that made it memorable. The cheesecake was also a hit with the group. Service handled our group well without feeling chaotic, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere is relaxed (great view of the river) and comfortable for a midday meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Docking one star only because a couple of dishes took a bit longer to arrive, seems they may have been understaffed. Was looking for outdoor/waterfront dining that wasn't over priced and over hyped and landed on Tanuki serving Asian fusion. Reasonably priced sushi and entrees in my opinion and we ended up getting the Black Dragon Roll as an "appetizer" and it was super good! We paired the sushi with a mojito to drink and it was super refreshing and light, however, I'm not sure if there was enough alcohol in it because by the 2-3rd sip it definitely was a little watered down but it wasn't horrible. Maybe ask for less ice? Entrees came and they were good as well. I ordered the Mongolian beef and I loved the sweetness to it. My mom ordered the pepper steak and she asked for it extra spicy but it was more so salty than spicy. Nonetheless, food and vibes were nice. The outdoor area is covered and there are fans which helped alleviate the heat. Our server Oscar was super friendly and helpful, so I'd definitely come back when I'm in Miami. read more

OMG. This. Place. Is Incredible! It's Cinco de Mayo and I just arrived for a two week gig on a yacht. I explained to my boss that I NEEDED a Margarita in honor of the day. He takes me to a... Japanese Restaurant? He says I should trust him and it was a good thing that I did. Terrific Maggie's! But it's the ambiance and decor that also added to the blown away factor! Everywhere you look it's an exotic feast for the eyes. I wished I could have stayed longer. Did grab some sliders from the happy hour menu and they were awesome. Really light on the fries so that was a little ding. Also had to remind the bartender two times about my when (and it wasn't busy) so I took a little off the score for that. Overall a solid score. I'd love to come back here again. read more
I remember awhile ago checking out the Tanuki in Miami Beach during an Elite event. Recently in the River Landing area, I had a chance to try their location here. Located in the waterfront lobby of River Landing, Tanuki gave me the chance to enjoy an upscale take on Chinese food classics coupled with a nice view of yacht life (as well as enjoy the pre Music Week shenanigans and beats from yachts passing by.) I went around closing time, but my waiter was still very pleasant and helpful, especially with his recommendation on the dessert. After a workout, and fueling up for Music Week (EAT, sleep, rave, repeat) I enjoyed a full course meal starting with their chicken gyoza. Served in the traditional wooden baskets & with a nicely spicy & sweet ginger sauce, these 6 fluffy bites were flavorful. They had a nice filling of chicken & the noodle was soft past al dente. Loved the classic orange chicken, especially with fresh squeezed orange with the included slice and the black pepper in the rice Make sure to hold space for their desserts. I enjoyed their goat cheese cheesecake & a glass of their house white wine (since I went on a weekday, house brand was ok). The cheesecake comes in a soft pancakey crust and stuffed with creamy cheese, fresh strawberries and blueberries along with caramelized pieces. It was definitely worth any calories! read more
Stopped in for an early dinner after some retail therapy at River Landing. The crispy rice and edamame were both winners -- simple, fresh, and full of flavor. Service was friendly and attentive, and the decor had that modern-yet-cozy vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer. Cute spot overall and I'd definitely come back for another round. read more

Came here for dinner to try out the Miami Spice menu. What makes Tanuki River Landing stand out from other Japanese spots is its modern aesthetic and stunning riverside setting. The interior has a clean, open-air feel accented by greenery, while the outdoor seating offers an unbeatable view of the Miami River, perfect for watching boats drift by. I came on a Sunday evening, and it was surprisingly quiet - not crowded at all. As for the food, it looked great but tasted pretty average for a Japanese restaurant. Nothing was bad, just not particularly memorable, and I found it a bit overpriced. That said, it's clear you're really paying for the atmosphere. Overall: Ambiance 10/10, service 8/10, food 6/10. If you're looking for a gorgeous spot to enjoy the view and relax, this place delivers. If you're coming strictly for the food, you might leave wanting more. read more

I'd I could give Tanuki 10 stars I would. A+ in food (and great happy hour and tasty food), staff (so efficient and helpful) and ambiance!!! We ordered an array of items and every bite was absolutely delectable. They have a wide range of HH items and they have a daily happy hour! We love that. Our server was extremely friendly and so sweet, I wish I remembered her name. The hot staff is also very welcoming. We were seated right away without a reservation but note as we were eating, the patio filled up fast! I was wowed by the food, literally every bite was soooo good!!! Melt in our mouth sushi was awesome. We also ordered some items not pictured including an espresso martini, fried rice (I loved how the vegetables were cut in teeny tiny pieces), and gyoza. I was appreciative of the happy hour prices because Miami can get expensive! This spot is a neighborhood gem and if you like good eats and great ambiance this spot is for you. read more
I have to say that this is actually a great restaurant and coming here is definitely recommended. The first thing you notice is the location. It is a beautiful spot on the river edge. The decoration is welcoming and tasteful. I believe it is a bit expensive but the quality of the products was good. My bill was 106.00 dollars for lunch. (Just me) Beware of the fact that they charge taxes after adding the tip. This is something off-putting. I ordered sake, black dragon roll, which was delicious, yellowtail tiradito (overwhelmingly sweet), and crispy Brussel sprouts. Overall, it was a good experience. read more
Came here for the first time, I used to work in this area and hadn't been here in years. This restaurant was perfect for a Sunday brunch. The views overlooking the boats coming in and the boho decor really add to an ambience. I tasted from their Miami spice menu and in addition to the food being absolutely delicious I was pleasantly surprised with a decent portion of food. The service was great as well, the waiter was very attentive and gave suggestions as well. read more

Alright, let's start by saying probably the best most reasonable place on the Miami river you can find. The view is nice, fans on top to keep you cool, and not too busy on a Sunday afternoon. I tried the duck dim sum for appetizers and it was really good, definitely recommend. I also tried the Mongolian beef plate, also delicious and definitely recommend. And last and definitely least, I tried the tan tan ramen which was flavorless mush. Overall, definitely try it out, stay away from the ramens, everything else looked great, and I guess if I were to complain about one more thing, it was painfully slow to get the checks. read more

We came to Tanuki on our trip to Miami! It was a major plus that we were able to easily make reservations for a large group of 10. The food was spectacular, although pricey, but that's to be expected with sushi. The ambiance was lively and upbeat. To drink, I got the Asian Mojito which has Rum, Strawberry & Ginger Shrub, Lime, Mint, Bitters. It was very strawberry-heavy. I enjoyed it! A bunch of us split a few dishes. I honestly wasn't a fan of the Tanuki Roll. The sauce was strangely sweet and I did not enjoy the flavor profile with the pork. The ones I would definitely get again are the Dynamite Salmon (tempura asparagus, avocado, green onions, truffle onion), the Spicy Salmon Roll (salmon, avocado, scallion, passionfruit, eel sauce, wonton chips), and the Shrimp Money Bag. Seriously, if you're a fan of salmon and truffle oil, do not miss out on the Dynamite Salmon! I'm drooling thinking about it. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they did also bring out their gongs and a complimentary slice of chocolate cake. It was a fun time! read more
Tanuki was one of my favorite restaurants I've been to in Miami! This restaurant is behind the River Landing mall and is right along the riverside. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. The shrimp money bag dim sum was delicious and so were the 3 rolls we got. The Temptation roll was light and refreshing, the crab roll and the steak rolls were torched at the table side and were so unique. The steak aburi roll was definitely my favorite. The lychee martinis were delicious as well! Jimmy was our server and he made great recommendations for us. Will definitely be returning! read more

LOVED trying Tanuki! I came with a large group of people. I thought the hostesses were indifferent but the servers were really great! Of note, they don't validate parking at the garage. Restaurant is well decorated and designed. The outdoor space looked nice but it was a little too warm to enjoy it. Highly recommend the geisha for a cocktail! Great flavor of lychee and also looks really fun with the purple hue. Our group ordered a variety of things and shared all the food. I highly recommend the spicy edamame, bao buns, and brusselsprouts for appetizers. The salted edamame fell flat and could have used more salt. There was a variety of sushi which were all really delicious as well. We also shared the lo mein, fried rice, chimichuri steak, and Mongolian beef. I thought the lo mein was the most flavorful of them all. The chimichuri steak was well cooked but on the fattier side. I would definitely go back to Tanuki and suggest you look into it for your next night out! read more
Tanuki is a great Asian inspired restaurant with both ample indoor and outdoor covered seating. Nicely themed, it's a place you can dress up or dress down at. The foods pretty good with the menu having a wide section. Lots of veggie options too for the non meat eaters. Cute panda tea pot, however we were only presented with two options for tea: green and chamomile. We ordered green but ended up with mint. A little strange, but not a huge deal. I really enjoyed the slightly sweeter Singapore noodles. Good quality ingredients. The shrimp dumplings were super flavorful and made as well. Tanuki is group friendly. Our server was very friendly, but at times hard to find. The food came out a bit slower than expected, but it was quickly forgotten as the meal was delicious! I'd return and recommend. read more

Amazing food and Bally hour. You go to a tropical jungle vibe once you step inside and the service is fantastic. Not crowded on a Tuesday and perfect weather. Solid happy hour menu. Typical miami prices but still much better than other places in the area. Highly recommend. read more

From the moment we walked in, the experience was incredible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location right on the Miami River is stunning and sets the perfect vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the real star here is the food--literally everything we ordered was delicious. It is rare to find a spot where every single dish is a hit, but Tanuki nailed it. Great views, amazing food, and wonderful service. We will definitely be back! read more
