This restaurant is great! It's located in the heart of Wynwood, so the restaurant is vibrant inside and out, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. However, it's pretty hard to find public parking in the neighborhood unless you want to use the valet service. That said, the food here is really, really good! We ordered: spicy tuna crispy rice, yellowtail crispy rice, yellowtail sashimi, tuna tartare, pork dumplings, and Thai vegetable stir fry, which were more than enough to share between three people. With the exception of the moderately sized portions of rice, all of the other dishes are smaller, so they're better suited as appetizers - while we were full after these, you may want to order some others if you're hungrier. The quality of the fish was impeccable, fresh and delicious. All the dishes were fantastic. My personal favorites were the amberjack sashimi and the tuna tartare, and the crispy rice, while rather plain, was also really tasty. As a final note, the restaurant was a bit noisy with the tables and chairs and the music, not so much that you couldn't have a conversation, but still a bit too loud for my liking. This didn't detract from the dining experience though, the food was delicious and worth a try. The coconut cake looked amazing, but unfortunately I was too full to try it. We were staying at the W South Beach and asked the concierge to make a reservation for us at this restaurant because we had heard people talking about it. This place is so popular we could only get in at 6:15, which is in the early side for us, but took it. So glad we did - Best food and service I've had in years! The food comes in little plate/tapas style and everything was amazing! Two highlights were the Cubanò style sandwich and the chicken croquettes that came in a model of a fiberglass sneaker. Very cool and fun presentation. Also, the "drink" that gets made table side with dry ice was amazing! The manager came over a couple times to make sure all was going well and we assured him it was. I had mentioned I had a little bit of a stomach bug and our waiter, I believe it was Joseph, brought me some ginger ale which really helped. read more

Beef tartare 4.5/5 Everything is good for this item! Duck breast 3.5/5 A little bit over cook, not enough taste for the meat! But still acceptable Thai fried rice 0/5 It just using a rock bowl to cook the rice then some sauce on top with a over easy egg on top! We had the lunch chef tasting menu and every dish we tried was delicious. They served a combination of vegetables, chicken, seafood, beef ribs and finally desert. My favorite was the crispy kale chips and the soft shell crab buns. That being said all the food was to perfection. This was my second time and both visits receive high ratings on the food. It was family style and potions were perfect for 3 of us. I noted (from a previous visit) that the portion size on almost all dishes was about the same for a party of 2. So if you're a big eater you get a little more value with a party of 2 vs 3. The coconut cake slice was huge, but I could have used one more scoop of ice cream considering it was for a party of more than 2. Overall food was delicious and a 'must try' for all. read more

I have come here once for drinks and once for dinner and drinks. Both times were wonderful. The bartenders do an amazing job. I tried the purple people eater, which tastes like a fruit smoothie, and shiso sour, also delicious. The other visit, I had a drink before the meal, then had the chef's tasting menu, which had me full by the 5th course. We took a lot of the food home and it was great the next day. If I could do it again, I would show up very hungry and not drink before the tasting menu so I could enjoy it all. the entire meal was amazing and memorable, but it was so much food I felt like I had eaten a thanksgiving meal. Despite having a reservation, we still had to wait about 45 minutes, but it was worth it. Will be back for sure. Meets the hype! read more

We got the lunch tasting menu, which includes 10 courses for $65. You get a lot of food so it's definitely worth it. Some dishes were amazing but others were a little disappointing. The ones that stood out were the burrata appetizer, Korean fried chicken, king crab fried rice, crunchy baby back ribs and my favorite item - coconut cake (probably the best cake I've ever had). On the other hand, the roasted cauliflower was very bland and the sauce didn't really make up for that. The crab steamed buns also lacked flavor and the pork gyoza was just okay. The bok choy had tasty crispy bits on top but the rest was slimy and hard to bite (not pictured). Overall, it was a good experience and amazing service. read more

This is my second time to this restaurant over the past two months and both times I have enjoyed it quite a bit. While the atmosphere is a little bit loud (this is an acoustic issue) even chaotic; ultimately it is energetic and youthful. All of the dishes I tried during both visits were excellent without exception. We ate everything family style, i.e., Sharing everything, which I would strongly recommend to get a variety of taste sensations. Both times I attempted to place with quite packed for the service is a bit on the slow side; so be prepared to graze gradually and enjoy the people watching. Amazing food - Would recommend people come eat here but NOT get the tasting menu 1 star review for their tasting menu which is insanely overpriced for the 9 dishes you get While the tasting menu for dinner cost $125 per person, we backed into the cost of the 9 dishes we got for our group of 6 as part of the tasting menu and the total per person was ~$70. When we asked the waiter about the tasting menu before the meal he was hesitant to tell us what the 9 dishes were probably due to the fact it would be easy to tell it was extremely overpriced. KYU is fuego. Came here on a last minute walk in reso & had a great experience. The ambience inside is industrial & trendy. The drinks are super crafty, they also looked & tasted great. The food was amazing! It was all served in a very aesthetically pleasing way & came out quickly served tapas style. What you SHOULD not forget to order is the s'mores cake it is out of this world good! The only item I wasn't a huge fan of that I wouldn't recommend is the crispy tuna rice. I loveeeee crispy tuna rice but theirs happened to contain something along the taste of bonito flakes which threw the whole thing off, other than that just try everything :) read more

Food was great. The fried chicken was out-of-this-world and cauliflower appetizer was zesty and flavorful. Unfortunately the service was non-existent. My husband and I were seated in the bar area even though there were plenty of open tables in the dining room; usually not a big deal for us but the bartender was busy and we didn't have a dedicated waiter. We had to wait for someone to pass every time we needed something..food came but we didn't have utensils, trying to get water refills just became annoying... if food wasn't absolutely excellent, I would have given 2 stars for such poor service. read more

We visited Kyu to celebrate a birthday and had one of the best meals I've had in Miami. Well worth the effort to book in advance. The cocktails were fun and tasty and the food was out of this world. The only difficulty we had was deciding what to get. With the help of our server we opted for pork belly buns, roasted cauliflower (a must), the duck burnt ends (heavenly) and we were persuaded to try the bone marrow, a first for both of us. Delicious! Highly recommended! And we somehow still found room for birthday cake-a wonderful not to be missed coconut cake. Then we rolled our way home! read more

I came here for the pre-fixe three-course meal and was really impressed! I started with the tartare toast, followed by the Chilean sea bass, and finished with the coconut cake. Everything was delicious, but the coconut cake deserves a special shoutout--it was absolutely to die for and the highlight of the meal. The portions were just right, the flavors were well-balanced, and the whole experience felt worth it.
