Came here for Valentine's Day, really sad the rose crepe cake sold out. Was dying to try that. Nice to watch the little drink robot constantly strolling around, hilarious when it's battery was dying. It's like please save meeeeee. Ordered 3 combo sets, the pork bun was very fatty, my parents did not like that and they also did not know it would be spicy. The ramen was good. The dessert was good, no complaints. We noticed they do not serve everything all at once, like the flushing location. We had to wait for each. There's no baby changing area here so my baby was being fussy towards the middle of our meal so I had a less enjoyable time. The food was overall on a salty side. First time at their bayside location and love how it's spacious with an open kitchen. They also have hexagonal pods that fits party of 2 which makes for a cute date and some privacy from other diners. Came here on a Sunday for lunch (party of 2) and was seated almost immediately in one of the pods on the highest level. One of the downside of sitting in the pods is you're not exactly in the foot traffic of all the servers/waiters, so it feels bad making someone come all the way up just for a water refill. However, there is a call button for when you're ready to order/get the bill so it doesn't take forever to flag someone down. We got takoyaki to share - not too memorable. It didn't come out piping hot (more like lukewarm?) and wasn't crispy on the edges. I got their spicy tonkotsu, which you are able to order at two different spice levels (spicy or hot, the latter being the spicier option) and of course I got the "hot" option. Rex was incredibly friendly and warm, creating a comfortable dining experience and atmosphere; he even opened my sanitizing wipe as I checked out their menu, which was very thoughtful. The restaurant is incredibly spacious and pretty, with a honeycomb seating booth interior design that's unique and picturesque! The menu is very expansive, ranging from a wide variety of ramen dishes, kamameshis, rice burgers, and a long list of appetizers and sides; I recommend coming here with multiple people so you can try as much as possible (wish I did that lol). At the time of this review, you can check-in on Yelp to get a free dessert or drink, so don't forget if it's still available! They also have a fun little passive game where if you order their ramen, there's a chance that at the bottom of bowl if it says the word "Free" you win a little prize as shown in the picture, which is fun and exciting; kinda wish they did that for the rice dishes as well haha. One issue with the service is that when it came time for the bill, the staff took forever to come and I'm unsure if it's because of the bell not working properly or that they just didn't see it. Now onto the food: I ordered the pork tonkatsu omurice combo with curry sauce and a Thai iced tea. The Thai ice tea is a bit sweeter than I would like, but that's just my personal taste. When the rice came, the staff was being efficient and began cutting the egg and assembling the dish before I got the chance to even record it, which was definitely a bummer since I'm sure many people who order this would like to enjoy cutting the egg and have it run down the rice rather than having others cut it for them; I'd recommend asking the diner if they would like to assemble it themselves or have the staff do it for them, that way the diner can prepare to record it or enjoy it to their preference, such as adding however much of the sauce they want instead of having it all drenched all over. The fried rice is incredibly flavorful with a rich beef umami flavor, and the egg is perfectly runny, just like how it is in all those Japanese TikTok videos or Facebook reels! The curry has a nice mild flavor to it and the tonkatsu was perfectly battered! However, my only complaint is that the tonkatsu is a bit small, especially for the price, so perhaps a slightly bigger portion would've enhanced the dish even more! It definitely didn't look like the picture, where it appeared more plain and without the scallions; I kinda would've liked it more to look like the picture and that way we can assemble the dish ourselves. Lastly, the tonkatsu was served on top of a measly few pieces of greens, which was a bit unappetizing, so the presentation could use a little work! Asides from the hiccups I mentioned (small tonkatsu portion, not aesthetically pleasing appearance with the greens, and not being able to cut the egg and enjoy the experience), it was definitely a positive experience and I would love the opportunity to come back to try their expansive menu selections! This place is still the bomb dotcom. For my second time visiting, I tried the classic omurice with demi glace sauce (they have a curry sauce option as well). Note that the omurice comes in a set with a beverage, and not available as a standalone. The omurice is cooked perfectly with the runnyish egg on top. They make sure to slice the egg part of the omurice in front of you (in case you want a video or pic for social media). I wish they kept the sauce on the side instead of pouring it all on top though, because it ended up being too much sauce for my liking. The omurice is more than enough for a hearty meal, but if you add the katsu it can definitely be shareable with someone. It is a bit busier during the weekends so service is noticeably slower for ordering and getting the check, but the food is still on point. Ambiance/Atmosphere/Décor: 5 out of 5 The location itself is quite large and spacious. There are tables on the ground floor as well as a in a more private back area and along the wall elevated like a balcony. I sat in the honeycomb seating along the right side which gave a unique dining experience. Food and Drink: 4 out of 5 Their "Magic Lemonade" was quite tasty. The cucumber notes really balanced out the sweetness and tart of the lemonade flavor. To start we ordered the Pork Bao Buns. The pork itself was served in a large portion which I was happy with from a bang for your buck POV. Overall, very tasty. Ramen wise I got the CP3 combo which was the pork and shrimp couple because I wanted to try more than one offering being my first visit. The Korean Kimchi ramen offered a nice but not overpowering kick of spice which I more than welcomed. The Tonkotsu Shouyu was more of the umami type flavor that I was used to from other ramen places. In terms of the whole dining experience: ambience/vibe, food/drinks, price, service... I'd give it a 4.5-5. Ambience/vibe: First of all, the store is very spacious. As soon as you walk in, you can tell that you are in a Japanese establishment. They added decorations/props of things that you might see in Japan. They also have stairs and booths in beehive shaped/pentagon spaced areas, which looked really cool. The whole setup of the store is very modern/hip. Food/Drinks: The price of the foods/drinks are reasonable. They also have bundle deals, which make it cheaper than buying separately. They have options like bundling an entree & drinks or 2 different food items or even have a bowl of 2 different flavors of ramen in one. These things are not very common, so it's nice to see that they have that option if you were debating between 2 things or wanted drinks with your meal anyways. Also, they have a partnership/collab with the bubble tea shop [TBaar] next door (prob same owner?). So most of their drinks are from there. So you can drink a milk or fruity tea drink along with your entree. Service: The servers are attentive. The food comes out fairly fast. They even have a food delivering robot moving around too. The beehive seats were only able to seat four people max. Even with four people, it looked a little squishy. We made a reservation for a table of 7 so sadly couldn't not sit there. Although we called to make a reservation right when they opened, they still sat our party of 4 apart in two separate rooms in the back, separated by only wooden bars. One of the best servicing places I've been. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and not only that but accommodating to request. The food is amazing Tokyo ramen with black garlic always hits different. I love black garlic and I will definitely get it every time I come. Soup is not too thick or fatty but just enough flavor. One of my new favorite spot in Bayside. We had a fantastic dining experience during our visit. Highly recommended. We were group of 7 with no reservation and were seated right away on a busy Friday night. During the wait for the rest of my group, we were given options to sit two tables separately or by the bar as it was fully open to diners. We decided to go for the later. It was a good choice to be in the bar as we see full view of the kitchen action as well as we were able meet the head chef. Plenty of party rooms are available for reservation. There are cute honeycombs shaped dining seating but of course either you reserved for it or come on a first come first served seating. The main floor has plenty of seats and tables can easily be adjusted to the number of diners. There are two electronic robot servers that made us entertained while waiting for our order. The whole ambiance is so airy, the aesthetic is likable, the displays are so cute and instagramable worthy. The food ( ramen) was tasty and so delicious. We order our noodle with black garlic as suggested. We were happy that we do that. The flavor lingered on our mouth l. My friends complain with their pork bao of how thick the bun for an appetizer. I was very satisfied with my pudding- not too sweet but full of flavor. A plus for the drinks bar that is within the vicinity. It must be busy during summer season. Their Thai iced tea was one of best I have tried. The crepe was okay but I was not much impressed by it. Location is accessible to Main Street ( Bell Blvd). Popcorn chicken was dried over cooked so was the tempura. Tempura had no taste , appeared to taste like Costco tempura. I also ordered the rice burger with fries, also tasteless, fries very salty. Beef Ramen was ok nothing to be thrilled about. It appears the cooking oil being used , has been used a number of times and not fresh. The service was mediocre, some were on their cell phone, had to call the waiter a number of times over for water. The ambiance was ok. The place is very clean as well as its bathroom. When paying the bill an automatic tip of 18% added. I travelled a lot and go to many restaurants to try different ethnic foods and consider myself a foodie who likes to rate the food, service and ambience to let other customers know how was the service. I ordered the tonkotsu shouyu ramen, but they ended up messing up all of our orders, so I ended up with the tonkotsu shio ramen instead. It's not overly breaded, but just the right amount and deep fried to perfection. You can taste the fresh oyster in your mouth! The ika geso kara-age (deep fried squid tentacles) was also delicious. We also had the Combination A, which came with tokyo tonkotsu shouyu ramen, matcha pudding with red bean and steam pork bao bun for $23 (a steal!). Let's talk about the Japanese style décor. They have cool seating against the wall where you have little pods to sit in for small parties of 2. The karaage chicken was crispy and flavorful. The edemame was good as well. As far as the Ramen, the chicken ramen was not especially unique, and not the best ramen I've had. Met up here with some of our friends. I think the ambience and the space is adorable and reminded me of Japan a little bit. We had the fried oysters and the purple, sweet potatoes as appetizers. I'd say that the fried oysters were very good. The purple sweet potatoes were mid. I personally had the rice with tonkatsu and curry sauce and I thought it was very good but nothing crazy. Definitely must try if you've never had omurice. The presentation was on point though. My fiancé had their Tokyo Raman, which came with a pork bun and a Matcha dessert. I only had a little bit of the broth but I would say that it was good and he said that it was good as well. We also tried the lemonade drink that comes with the said, and he really loved it to me.
