Good chocolate in Galleria Mall..they give out samples & customer service is on point

Luxury Swiss Chocolate Lay-duh-rack opened up in Galleria mall exactly where Godiva used to be earlier. Opened on 25th Oct 2021, their special collection is mouth watering. All their chocolates get shipped overnight from Switzerland - now thats what I call original. There is a sampling area for many of the chocolates which gives you a pretty good idea of taste before making a purchase. The staff is very friendly and will hand over as many samples as you wish to try. My personal favorite, the sweet tangy mildly bitter orange dark chocolate flavor. They have some great gift boxed versions too.

"The Lamborghini of Chocolate" and they have Vegan options. So during a visit to The Galleria Mall, I discover this sweet little spot and indeed it was a sweet spot. You name the nut and they have the chocolate to pair it with. Everything about the service and experience here says, 1. I do not eat enough chocolate 2. I did not try enough samples 3. I have to go back. 4. I have to buy more next time to eat later, unless I eat all in one setting like I did the last time. The store was bright and brilliant in the lux of colors Black, White and Gold. As far as nuts, Almond they had it, Pistachio they had it and more. If you have not been please stop by at least once they will not disappoint you. From milk to dark chocolate they have the chocolate. So, until the next one Bye-Bye.

BEST chocolate I have had in forever!! I got the hazelnut bark and it was amazing! They do weigh the chocolate by pound which can be a bit pricey or you can tell them a price you want to pay and they can alter that for you. I found them in my city and it's a 40 minute drive and I will be making that drive to get some more. Lol

What a treat! I was a bit overwhelmed when walking in because I have never been to a store like this before. However, Michaela and Edward were so very sweet and helpful. They gave us all the samples in the world and we loved ALL OF IT. I ended leaving with several truffles and the white chocolate with strawberries and dark chocolate with blackberry and the best by far was the one with the oranges. Clearly, I was craving fruits and chocolate lol. Will go back and try some different ones next time I am in the area.

Located inside the Galleria, where Godiva used to be. I kept seeing this pop up and decided to try. Apparently, their chocolate gets shipped overnight from Switzerland. You're able to sample their chocolates (they have slabs of different flavor varieties out in front). It is a bit pricy for the chocolates but you can buy how big of a piece you want (it's by weight). I ended up getting a piece of the hazelnut dark chocolate - I loved the roasted caramelized hazelnuts in it and the dark chocolate tasted really good. It's a once in a while splurge for me if I happen to go to the Galleria, but I would definitely say to try them out if you want some chocolates!

I gave 5 stars because I chocolate . The great part of Laderach is they give you sample to taste. It's a great gift for yourself and for others. As you can see they also have truffles to buy individually or prepackaged truffles in various sizes. It's a must try!! The truffles are great if you decide to have your own tea party at home. You can serve a few of these.

For valentines, I bought some truffles chocolate for my wife. The store is located inside the galleria at westheimer. Truffles were very delicious and sweet and they had a lot of limited edition for valentines day. Be sure to check them out and when you do ask for little samples of the day!

Some of the best Chocolate you can get! Definitely worth the price.

Läderach has some of the best Chocolate you can get. There used to be a Godiva shop in Galleria and because it was gone I figured there would be no more higher quality chocolate in Houston but luckily I found Läderach in the Galleria and it is significantly better than Godiva. Their 80% Dark Chocolate and Hazelnut chocolate is some of my favorite. This quality of chocolate is definitely worth the price. A box or two of their chocolates make a great gift.

When I stopped by on a weekday evening at 9pm it was packed. They had stations setup throughout the store to order different goods, which helped to alleviate the rush. Knafeh ($6) - They offered 2 types of knafeh, one with cheese and one with custard. I went with the one made with Nabulsi cheese and topped with shredded phyllo, and soaked in sugar syrup. It was warm, crispy and delicious! Karak tea ($5) - This milk tea drink was made with aromatic spices, primarily cardamom, cloves, ginger and cloves. I was happy to see they used whole milk instead of evaporated milk. The drink was incredibly rich and creamy and tasted great. Turkish delight ($18 / lb.) - This was extremely fresh, soft and chewy, made with cornstarch, sugar, nuts. Some of the varieties I tried had chocolate and/or fruits. The baklava here was fresh made with layers of phyllo dough, chopped nuts, and held together with some honey. The nut offerings here included, almonds, walnuts, peanuts and a few more. Overall I was impressed with everything they offered here with the exception of the nuts, which I thought were just ok. I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

For example, with the Turkish delights and ice cream selections, only a few items are labeled. For most of them, you have to guess the flavor or ingredients. When I asked questions, there was a language barrier, and the staff member behind the counter was unable to clearly explain what the items were in English. This can be especially frustrating for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions. In the U.S., I would expect all flavors and ingredients to be clearly labeled so customers can make informed choices. Even if staff members are not fluent in English, having accurate labels for flavors and ingredients would greatly improve the customer experience. The desserts themselves are excellent, but better product labeling would make the experience much more enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

The store front is very tiny, it could fit maybe 6 people fairly comfortably. They do have a speak easy space for their tastings, which is an interesting concept, which I'll touch on later. Effectively, they have different unique shapes of chocolate that are liquid filled with alcoholic and non-alcoholic liqueurs. Think licor 43, gin, bourbon, whiskey, tequila, etc. The chocolates themselves are good, there wasn't any that I disliked and I'd say the carajillo was one of my favorites. All that said, I think this can be hit or miss with some folks. I like them, whereas I can see how it has a bit of a flash in the pan type taste. It hits fast and then, that's it.Personally, I can get past that probably and could easily eat 10 in rapid fashion. Where this place loses my attention and where I struggle is the pricing. Value is always subjective and I'm sure some will find these to be well worth their price. For reference, I think it's 4 for $22, 8 for $34, when I recently visited. I just didn't find them to be worth that pricing model, particularly when there are other brands that you can get at a lower price and similar fillings. At the end of the day, I think this is worth it for an experience or date, particularly if you're going to go in for the tasting. Think, wine and cheese, in this case, cocktails and chocolates. It's $65 a person for the experience. Overall, I'm glad to see a boutique shop like this that's locally owned by a young, ambitious entrepreneur. My two cents, price lower and there is likely a higher amount of return customers for the chocolates, but I'll save you, the reader, the take on an entire business model diatribe here.

I asked to try one of the chocolates he bought--the Blueberry Chocolate. I picked up the rest for my BF and me. Chocolate Bar "Black" - I passed this out at the local theater where I volunteer, and everyone loved it. Dark chocolate is so in right now. What I liked most was that the texture wasn't dry, yet it still had a strong, pleasantly bitter flavor. I assumed it was around 60-70% cacao, and after looking it up, it's actually 62-63%. It's definitely sweeter than the dark chocolates I normally eat, but still very enjoyable. At $10, it was a great way to share chocolate with 26 people. That said, I'd rather spend the extra $13 on their Nama Chocolate and give everyone an unforgettable experience. Royce's Origin Chocolate "Bitter" - This will be hard to review because I'm definitely not a chocolate connoisseur. --Ecuador - Reminds me of a bitter coffee bean. Very fragrant, though I wouldn't describe it as floral, despite the tasting notes claiming floral characteristics--unless we're talking about something peppery. This one was my BF's favorite. --Venezuela - Much milkier than the previous flavor. Lighter and more subtle, almost like drinking coffee and then finally getting hit with the milk foam. I 100% agree with the nutty tasting notes--it gives off strong hazelnut energy. This one was my favorite. --Madagascar - Much sharper in flavor. My BF described it as "fruity," and while I had a harder time deciphering it, I agree that it was noticeably tangier than the others. It also ranked the highest in acidity for me. I don't necessarily taste fruit, but that tang does lean toward a citrus-like quality. It tasted like the outer wilds, for sure. --Colombia - Mmm. My BF suggested caramel or cinnamon notes, but I'm picking up a flavor I recognize and just can't place... nutmeg. It reminds me of nutmeg. What an interesting shift from the bright, tangy profile of the Madagascar chocolate. Blueberry Chocolate - One of my peers described it as "potent," and I completely agree. It's a tiny little bead of chocolate, yet it packs a powerful punch. I believe it's a layered milk chocolate with a blueberry center. It was phenomenal, and I'd absolutely come back for another. Of their many flavors, I'd love to come back and try the Potato Chip Chocolate because, frankly, that's weird as heck... and y'girl loves weird.

The small pieces melt on your tongue easily. This time around I got to split some chocolates with several friends: Blueberry Chocolate: A must for fruit lovers. Little pieces of rich dried blueberry with a milky rich chocolate. Black Chocolate (looks like a bar): sitting at around 60-70% dark chocolate, you get a milky note and not too bitter of a taste. Extra Bitter Dark Chocolate from around the world: from Ecuador, Venezuela, Madagascar, Colombia and it highlights the profiles of floral, fruity, nutty, bitterness, acidity on each type of cacao. Really fun for a group tasting as they come with five sampler pieces per country. Universally, these taste a lot like eating a smooth version of coffee in chocolate form. They're actually seriously that bitter. Having them back to back with a palate cleanser lets you distinguish the little notes. Ecuador was a bit acidic and quite bitter. Venezuela was less bitter but slowly almost unfolds a bit with a milkier. Madagascar was actually incredibly fruity, and ended on a bitter note. Colombia felt very balanced, with a strong caramel bitter note. Ecuador was absolutely my favorite as a dark chocolate fan, followed by Colombia. Anyway, Royce is fantastic, definitely some of the best chocolate in the world.
