Don't go here! Staff is so rude, especially the woman at the front, "Gabriella". What they charge you on your card does NOT match the menu prices. It's such a scam. If you try to ask them about it, they'll suddenly pretend they don't speak English anymore. They brought "free" chips to my table while I was there and then demanded I pay $7 for them before leaving. On top of that I ordered pozole which said it was a certain price on the menu but then when she charged me it was like $23 before tax. They wouldn't let me leave without paying $7 for the chips that I didn't even ask for that they brought to my table that I barely touched. Rating: I ordered from Birrieria Apatzingan 2 right before they were closing, and I was a little worried the quality might be rushed--but they absolutely delivered! The mojarra fried fish was cooked to perfection, served with flavorful rice and beans, and the homemade tortillas were incredible. My husband is still raving about the quesobirria de chivo--it was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Ooooookay I work DoorDash & I picked up food from here so I decided to buy some for my family after work because of the wide variety of items . I ordered my favorite dish of all time however only one place makes it the way I like it so I have been searching for a place closer that would make it . I ordered the camarones a la diabla - & I would not get it again . The rice was white & mushy & the beans were ok. The shrimps were on the bigger side which was great but they were not peeled which is no big deal but the sauce is way too spicy, oily & watery . I love spicy I usually eat serranos with my meals but this sauce was too much . It did come with a few veggies in the sauce like onions & stuff but I only had 3 shrimps & called it a day . The sauce spilled into my rice & beans making the plate unbearable . The handmade tortillas were delicious . We also ordered two plates of mojarra frita for my babies . The rice was mushy with those plates too . But the fish was a little salty for my taste . My kids love fish but they're 4 & 2 yrs old & we just got home from daycare & work so they were hungry . Not sure if they ate it because they liked it or were starving . So they ate a fish each but again the sides were untouched . Maybe it's just me being picky But their dad also didn't like the food since I offered it to him & he didn't eat the sides & only had 1 shrimp & a bite of the fish since we always try things before we feed the babies . This restaurant is located in a small plaza on the corner of Balboa and Chatsworth. Parking here is very tight if you can find a spot. This is the second time dining in and both times the food was delicious however they only have one person working at any given time and this place stays busy. This calls for very poor and rushed service. The food is quick to prepare but the wait to take our order and see our waitress in between is so long and inconsistent. When she finally comes to take our order she is so preoccupied with keeping up with the incoming customers, the phone etc that you have no other choice to just put your order and can't ask questions because they are just that busy. Again, I was very satisfied with the taste of our food and if it weren't for the service and being incorrectly charged on both occasions that I visited I would score them maybe a three. That's how bad the attention is at this place and it isn't entirely the waitress fault as this is a reflection of management not properly staffing a busy restaurant. I ate here yesterday for the 1st time. I typically go to the Pacoima location. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location. First of all the food wasn't good. The beans were awful. They smelled bad and were spoiled. How is it that the people preparing the food/serving it can't tell. Aren't they concerned with people getting sick? Also even though the Menudo tasted OK, the meat didn't look fresh. I've had menudo many times especially at the Pacoima location and the menudo meat didn't look right. I'm not an expert but I'm sure the meat isn't supposed to look dark in color. It was just unappetizing. I'm telling you there's something wrong with the food they're serving in this place. I don't think it's fresh or they just reuse it even after it's time to get rid of it. The server was really nice and she apologize for the beans being bad. I didn't complain about the menudo , but I should have. But I didn't eat the meat. Overall, there was just something off about the food in restaurant #2. I do not recommend this place.
