Pastor Tacos
Steve S.

Excellent spot for tacos! I absolutely loved their asada and pastor tacos. Asada meat was juicy, tender and had a bit of a smoky flavor- just phenomenal. Couldn't get enough of it! The pastor tacos too, were pretty incredible. The nice gentleman behind the grill explained that instead of having their pastor rotating on the vertical shawarma-like machine, they actually grill it, as the meat is very delicate and requires more attention to detail while cooking it. Well, the result was very special- pastor meat was succulent, incredibly flavorful and melting in my mouth. Both, the asada and pastor meat from Conchita's really do stand out from the vast competition in the SFV. Even their tortillas are a bit more delicious than anywhere else. They are hand made as many are, but the flavor is unparalleled. Tortillas taste really light and the flavor doesn't overpower the taste of the meats. They are very thin but are still strong enough to hold the taco together with one sole tortilla, rather than with 2 as in most other places. In addition, great customer service from the 2 guys and a lady running this place. They were very friendly and informative about their unique style of preparing certain meats. The ambiance is pretty pleasant with some Scottsdale, AZ desert vibes, with tables and chairs on top of white rock surface and their grills are situated along this beautiful rocky wall, which almost makes the grills feel built in. All in all, a great experience and I will definitely come back for more. P.S. They are actually at 17050 Nordoff st and NOT on Balboa. Make sure to find them cause they are great!

If you're searching for the best tacos in the SFV, Conchitas Tacos is the BEST!!! From the very first bite, you can tell everything is made with care, quality ingredients, and real passion for food. The tacos are full of authentic flavor -- perfectly seasoned meats, fresh toppings, handmade tortillas, and that amazing taste that keeps you coming back for more... What really makes Conchitas Tacos stand out is that it's not just about great food -- the cleanliness of the place is immediately noticeable. The space is spotless, well-kept, and inviting, which makes the whole experience even better and shows how much pride they take in what they do. The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. You're greeted with genuine smiles and great energy, and they take the time to make sure your order is perfect. They're patient, helpful, and truly care about their customers, which makes you feel appreciated every time you visit. Conchitas Tacos is the kind of place you confidently recommend to friends and family. Whether you're stopping by for a quick meal or coming in hungry to enjoy multiple tacos, you'll leave happy every single time. Amazing food, a clean and comfortable environment, and outstanding customer service all in one place. A true gem in the San Fernando Valley and easily one of the best taco spots around.

These tacos are so good! The meat quality is so great. My bf ordered the lengua tacos and I don't like the texture of that meat but I took a bite of his taco and I was surprised. I actually liked it!!! The best lengua taco I've ever had! Give this place a try! Can't go wrong with handmade tortillas either.

There's a reason why this place gets 5 stars! Everyone who works here is extremely nice and helpful. I observed the cook being genuinely my nice to a kid who was looking over watching him cook. Everything is SO clean (especially for an outdoor street vendor)! The handmade tortillas keeps us coming back for more! One time, my family and I came 3 times in one week! Highly recommend! We love their quesadillas, and every taco (lengua, cheek, carne asada, and El pastor). They're closed every Monday and Tuesday.

Great food and even better service. My favorite is their Pastor tacos! They're located on Nordhoff rather than Balboa. This place is my new go-to!

Fantastic place to get street tacos! Their set up is conveniently located next to a Target with ample parking. They have a few tables and chairs for eating on the spot, but you can easily take your order to go. I ordered all my tacos with cheese because why not, but the true star of this place are the freshly made tortillas that are pressed on the spot. Everything I ordered from lengua to carnitas was delicious, but what really surprised me was the chicken. It was so MOIST! I've never had chicken that tender and juicy at a taco stand. Well done!

Pastor tacos and Tripas extra crispy- The Tortillas are the most delicious ever!!

I wanted to order all the things but I exercised some restraint and just ordered the CARAMELO ($8.75 - Flour tortilla, pinto beans, Monterey Jack cheese, avocado salsa, salsa roja, avocado, cabbage.). I picked chorizo as my protein option. I also, of course, had to also add the smoky grilled poblano chile for $1.25. It was SO good and FLAVORFUL - it didn't even need the salsas. Although, I will note that both the salsas were lovely. The flour tortilla was clearly freshly made. Also, it was a massive portion. I don't know what I was expecting. If this is the size of their caramelo, I don't want to know how giant the burrito is. I also had to get the cucumber agua fresca to pair with my caramelo. It was perfectly sweetened and wonderfully refreshing. I'll have to make my way back here now to try the burrito 2.0 and chivichanga.

I came here for dinner on a week night and my experience here was pretty good. I had the asada and al pastor tacos with all the toppings and they were both so good and full of meat and heat. The toppings can be spicy for some, so be warned. My favorite of the two was the all pastor which was flavorful and I did like the thinly shaved meat. It was not dry at all and was fresh. I also tried the mulita with al pastor meat and that was also soso good. Cheesy, meaty, and indulgent. The additional topping section had good variety with pickled onions, cucumbers, etc. and everything seemed pretty fresh. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of the roasted pepper and grilled onions at the time I went. To drink, I had the horchata and that was also very delicious. It was huge, sweet, and creamy. I also loved how it was not grainy at all. A good pairing with the rich foods. They also have a good amount of seating at the stand with a long table and multiple chairs. Parking is tricky since its street parking only.

They had the masa on the side and were making the tortillas fresh and by hand. Yum. Payment: - They take Apple pay! :) Parking: - We found street parking nearby thankfully, but it might be hard to find in general due to the area. Seating: - They have seating to the left of their grill (tables, folding chairs, a tarp overhead). Depending on the time of day, sometimes the shade doesn't quite cover your face--the sun was setting and hitting us right in the eyes, so we switched sides to sit facing away from the sun once those seats were available.

Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

The tostada was very hard and chewy thought I was going to brake a tooth. Asada meat and guacamole on the tostada had no salt. Tortillas hand made which that's a plus Agua fresca de pineapple tasted water down too much just tasted the water with hint of pineapple. If you new to this place just know that you can ask for frijoles de la olla on the side they are free. I did like that they had grill onions and it's self serve. Street parking available, but know area not the best to be in. Tables have about 3 incase you planning eat there, & if super hungry know you will be waiting for a long time.
