I called LA Roofers for an estimate several months ago. They sent out Tom C. Out of all the folks who came to look at our roof, he was the most thorough and seemed to be the most knowledgeable. Unfortunately, it was our first time purchasing a new roof and we didn't know what to expect. Tom gave us a price that was higher than the others, but he explained that the roof needed a lot of work. I made the mistake of going with another roofer who told me the whole project couldn't cost more than several thousand dollars. As soon as we signed the contract and he bought materials, that roofer's price almost doubled. It was still lower than most other estimates, so we moved forward with it. After the job was done, the city inspector said that we had to do further work in order to get the roof up to code. He mentioned the same points that Tom had told us about from the very beginning (sister joists). My roofer told me that he didn't have X-ray vision and couldn't have known of the issues we had with our roof before working on it-but Tom did. Long story short, Tom was right about what he told us and his price was cheaper overall. We hope to work with him on our two other roofing projects in the near future. read more

I was serviced by an excellent sales rep from this company and went with them to replace my roof. When the job was completed everything looked great. After the last rains we had I noticed bubbling on the ceiling in my upstairs bathroom. I called the company to have them come out and check for leaks in the roof. I spoke to a guy who refused to tell me what his title was. He was very rude and refused to come out to check it out to make sure there was no leaks. His reasoning was that I did not have a leak and he can't be running out for the littlest thing that gas was vary expensive. At one point he hung up the phone on me when I continued to ask what his role was with the company. I will continue to state he was extremely rude. I called back and he told me he would block my phone number. I told him I was going to let everyone know how he treated me and he said he will file a $50,000 defamation lawsuit against me if I did. Shortly after someone else called me back to try to fix the situation but they also claimed I did not have a leak. I just do not understand how they new I did not have a leak if they don't come out to check. I would NOT recommend this company and I hope I do not have a leak ever because I do not think they will honor my 10 year warranty. read more

I wanted to let you all know that if you are having problems with a leaky roof, call L.A Builders and roofing Specialists. I had multiple leaks to the back of my house a few years ago, and had the contractor who originally did my roof to send his roofing people back multiple times, and they were never able to fix it. I called L.A Builders and roofing Specialists and they scheduled me for the next day, sure enough the crew that came knew exactly how to fix those leaks and i've signed on the spot with them. No more leaky roof anymore, no more patches anymore. If you have any leak problems in the roof you have to call these guys. They were extremely reasonably priced, and they fixed the problem on their first attempt. Highly recommended without any hesitation! read more

Don't bother phoning these people if you're in the "bid" process and want only "that" (a bid) at the onset of researching the costs associated with re-roofing your home.   They're a HARD sell, outrageously priced and really don't leave until you've signed up.  Signing up is fine as you have (by law) a 3-4 day recision period through which you can cancel the contract without penalty.  This is the upside. The downside is that the "rep" will text and call claiming he's knocked the price of any lender finance costs off (.07%) to lower the price and and when you decline he wants you to send the contract AND the plastic folder back that he left you. LOL, have you ever heard of such a thing? Research your options and stick with those more willing to provide you with a solidified "BID" and scope of work and keep away from the hard-sell techniques of this outfit.  Buyer "be-ware"! While they may do decent work ( I wouldn't know and won't after the hard sell experience I'm still recovering from), again if you're doing proper due-diligence by obtaining bids and making your own educated decision, chances are you'd have better luck at a car dealership than the these folks. Very unfortunate but a fact. Good luck and don't be discouraged. There's plenty of reputable firms out there that are actually interested in "earning" your business vs. taking it And so TODAY, 8.12.19, the rep actually shows up unannounced claiming to have lost his job and demands the file back containing the hard-sell bid I was left with. WHAT PROFESSIONAL FIRM actually does this! Again, be cautious of this outfit! LOL, this is no joke. It's more unbelievable than anything and deserves the attention of the BBB , state contractors board and a few others. Extremely shady in my opinion and who wants a sales agent dropping by trying to collect the paperwork they left for "you"? So bizarre I cannot even begin to explain how I feel about the situation. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. Ray came over to give me an estimate. Told me I needed a new roof on the addition to my house (didn't end up being true). "Only" charging me $6.5k. I said I needed to get another estimate that week, and I'd call him by EOW. I did, let him know I'd like to move forward. He kept putting me off, saying they could come by next week. Next week comes, then it would be another 2 weeks. Then it becomes about a lack of materials. Then he tries to gaslight me and tell me I wouldn't make a commitment and didn't tell him I wanted to move forward. I sent him the screenshot of our texts where I explicitly told him that. Then he got angry and basically told me that the job was too small for him to make it a priority. I called the office, complained about him and she said she'd find out what happened and get back to me immediately. Never heard from them again. Got another great, HONEST roofer to come by who was straight with me, and fixed everything right up. Move on, don't hire L.A. Roofing read more

I would highly recommend! I had to reroof as the roof in a house I bought was totally worn out. Leo Edry and his team came and did an amazing job: they promised 5 days and did it in four, including new gutters around the house and replacing my basement insulation. They team cleaned after themselves every end of day, they worked really hard, where constantly checking that I'm happy and comfortable with the work, very transparent and credible, going down to details, and Leo did everything he could to make me content, including reviewing the teams cleanup when everything was done. All I wanted was 1) look at my roof 2) give me 2 options and what each option would cost. That's it. First experience with this company was being on the phone with a lady who asked a bunch of questions about the condition of my roof, when it was last worked on, and which company worked on it. I normally don't like to share so much details because from experience I know they're sizing up their competition and will look for ways to discredit other companies by pointing out their flaws. After I spoke with the lady, they sent Leo out to meet us. It took over an hour for him to see our roof and then discuss roofing options that he wanted us to decide on the spot. My husband had to get back to his work so he told Leo if he could wrap up in 15 minutes, and Leo got defensive and I could tell he was a bit flustered probably because he's used to going for the hard sell which is educate us for the next 45 min to an hour on why their company is the best and uses the best materials then suck us in. He also tried other tactics that we've heard before, which is trying to lock us in on what materials, style, and colors we want and a schedule BEFORE he could give us a quote. I mentioned that I was adamant about maintaining the Spanish characteristic of the house and using clay tile and he tried to tell us that they're not as protective as asphalt shingles. That's just ridiculous. Clay tile roofs are fire resistant and can last up to 75 years! I honestly feel sorry for people who don't know any better or are trying to be polite and they end up trusting these companies because they hang fear over their heads that their house is going to collapse, or that it will cost a lot more if they don't do it NOW, etc. Leo could tell that we weren't getting anywhere when we pressed him on what we were looking for, which was pretty simple: give us 2 options and their prices; one with Asphalt shingles w/ clay accent tiles, and one with 100% Clay tiles. He told us to call him back when we get other bids and left us with his business card and a note that he will beat any competitor for $1000. Thanks but no thanks. read more

I am a review freak I made 95% of my decision based on reviews dispite the 2 poor reviews this company have I called out of curiosity in regards roof leaking, I work only with professional license and insured contractors for all our home projects after I was reading the review on La Builders and Roofing specialists I said I'm going to give them the chance I called in they did ask me more questions than I thought like the other person mantioned and make me feel a little bit uncomfortable so I asked to talk to a supervisor after I talk to the supervisor he explain to me what's behind those questions it was very pationed and informative and I completely understand what companies have to do to make an appointment with a customers and the cost of etch free estimate, I asked for the best rap they have and they send over Roy he was very professional and informative my roof is old and need to be replaced Roy found the leak area go suggest the most cost efficient solution which is a repair instead to change the complete roof the other two companies I called told me they cannot fix the leak I'm happy I give the chance for a new local company despite the two bed reviews specialy during covid19...I highly recommend this company for all of your Roofing needs ask to work with Roy is great read more

John came out and let us know that the roof looked good and that there was a metal piece missing. Didn't try to sell us anything, told us how we could fix it ourselves.
