Soybean and matcha cream sweet rice donuts

Discovered this cute little bakery while shopping at HMart, and I'm so glad we stopped by! L'Ami Bakery Cafe is small but has a great selection of pastries that all looked fresh and tempting. So far, we've only tried the croissants, but they did not disappoint. Everything tasted fresh and well-made. The strawberry and cream-filled croissant was a huge hit -- my kids absolutely loved it. Personally, I enjoyed the round/ball shaped dough pastries with fillings. I tried the sesame bean filling and the matcha cream, and both were delicious. Fair warning though -- be careful when you bite into them. I wasn't expecting the filling to burst out the first time, but honestly, that just means they don't skimp at all on the filling. Another great tip: pastries are 20% off starting at 6 pm, so if you're in the area around that time, it's a perfect opportunity to grab a bunch. They also bake fresh daily, which really shows in the quality. Definitely worth a stop if you're near HMart and craving fresh, tasty pastries!

Inside the H-Mart in Long Island City is this Korean bakery serving pastries, cakes, macarons, and beverages. We got to try a few different items and they were all very good. It seems they specialize in castella cakes, so we bought two. My family and I enjoyed Berry Berry Castella for its nice refreshing strawberry cake flavor and all the berries, while the Cream Cheese Cloud Castella was fluffier with its sponge cake-like texture. However, though expensive at nearly $4, I think the mocha bread was our group consensus for favorite item of the tasting.

The earl Grey cake slice was moist and the flavor of the tea came through in the cream. Would get this again. We also ordered a matcha daisy cake for a birthday which came with a knife and candles. This was good too - matcha cake with vanilla cream, but I appreciated the earl Grey more. I've also separately tried their mammoth bread and soboro red bean which were good. The mammoth bread has chestnuts and multiple types of bean pastes I think which I like more than other combinations of mammoth bread.

Charming little bakery inside H-mart. Ordered the Earl Grey cake for a birthday celebration. The cake was moist with a natural Earl Grey tea flavor. Everyone enjoyed its light and refreshing taste. Will definitely return to try other offerings.

Ate here today for dessert after eating at KimGaNae. I had brought and ate the chocolate tiramisu and it was really good and sweet. Again, since it was newly opened, I got a 30% discount as well and it was worth it. The service there was also attentive, friendly and super fast and quick. I couldn't agree more! Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :D

Their breads are delicious, soft and fluffy. They have pastries and cakes too. They also have hot and iced drinks, mostly coffee and tea. This bakery was there when HMart LIC opened, but now it's nicely decorated and look like an official bakery inside of HMart. You can use the food court seatings. They have 30% off until June 6th. Will have to try the cakes for a special occasion next time. This cafe opens at 9am daily.

New clean bakery located in the Hmart at northern Blvd as part of their food court. They have a lot of variety of pastries, cakes, breads and drinks. Everything is nicely presented/decorated and packaged that is typical of a Korean French inspired bakery. However this also means their prices are also higher. They are offering a 30 percent discount until beginning of June. I tried their cream bread and it was soft fluffy and very delicious. Normal price is 7.50.

A fancy Korean inspired French bakery inside the supermarket to meet a sweet tooth need or a caffeinated moment. Staff is friendly but sadly by 2pm, some pastries are in bad shape. My favorite croissant pan bread is all broken, but because this is the only bakery in nyc that I could find this version, I had to settle for a damage product. Poor handling skills? Wished it was discounted instead. At nearly $5, I want to at least get in a good shape.

The puppy cake is both adorable and scrumptious. I love the packaged custard buns too.

Does anyone know if I can pre-order a cake in less than a week? I tried calling them and no one picked up....

Best to call them since your answer is dependent on what you're looking for.

Whoever said Verse has one of the best matchas was absolutely not kidding. I got the Earl Grey…read moreLavender Matcha and it was elite. The sweetness level was perfect in my humble opinion, although I already know some matcha traditionalists who would call it too sweet. For me, though, it was much more balanced than Kijitora. I also loved that they have a bar area where you can sit and work while watching the staff whisk your matcha in the chawan. A drink and a tiny performance. What more could I ask for?? I don't get the hype--I'm so, so sorry! It's apparently the best matcha on the Beli app, and…read moreeveryone seems to rave about it, but that just wasn't my experience personally. I think I'm just used to sweeter, overly sugary, "fake" matcha from places like Blank Street, Dunkin', and similar chains. The matcha itself was good quality, but it didn't really taste like much to me--it was very mid/bland. The strawberry was made with real strawberries, which I appreciated, but the pieces kept getting stuck in the straw, so I wasn't really able to mix them into the matcha. I paid $8 for the matcha plus a $2 tip, so $10 total. I'd definitely come back and try something else next time, though. The service was quick and friendly, and since all the tables were occupied, they seated me at the bar where I got to watch my matcha being made, which was a nice touch.
