The people are friendly, so was the nail stylist but I was not fully satisfied with the service. I dont like that they dont tell you upfront how much of a difference it is going to be from the price initially discussed if you add certain things the stylists suggests. Came here for a pedicure. Left at 10AM. By 8PM the same day half of my toes were chipped off partially. Completely baffled by this, I've gotten a million pedis over the years and never had this happen. Would not recommend this salon. Annoying as well: hours online do not match store hours. I've tried to make multiple appointments and every time they tell me "Call back tomorrow because she's gone for the day"....It does not matter what time of the day I call, she's never there. I finally was able to make an appointment, and she was a no show. I was told that she was coming back from Houston and was stuck in traffic. What I don't understand is why they let me sit there for 25 minutes and tell me she was on her way...when they knew she was in Houston. Despite me not getting exactly what I wanted and other issues I must say that my nails are lasting a long time It has been 3 week almost and I still get complaints. Henry was able to result the issues and showed that he really cares about his customers. There was some strange cracking within the powder itself but it seems to be intact even with that. I would still suggest Henry to others. Good long lasting nails. I'm not sure if they do fill ins on dip set. Maybe they can answer that for us. read more

I always come here to get my nails done. It's really hard to find a very good nail tech but going to L'Amour is always easy. I always go to Henry for my acrylic sets and he never disappoints. I decided to try this nail salon on a whim, and it didn't disappoint. I got lucky the first day I went in and Henry was available to do my nails. I sat down and prayed that they would come out right & they were better than expected. I went in for short square and French tips, and Henry simply told me no and suggested I do almond nails. I never did that before and was very worried that it wouldn't look good on my hand, but I decided to follow his suggestions he listen carefully to what I wanted and suggested something that would fit that. Every time I go to see Henry I always come out happier than I went in. He never lets me settle for anything too boring and because of my job I can't have two fun with my nails, so he always make sure that my nails look really good but stay neutral and short. Today I decided I'd go in and stand my ground. Lol I said today "I'm going completely square nails, super short and I want French Henry!" he said OK lol. By the time he was filling my nails he already had a plan in mind and said, "let's do valentine nails." I knew once he said this he already had. A vision in mind, so I said "ok just keep it neutral for work." And Boom, square nails with valentines theme in full effect! And I love them way more than French nails for sure. If you haven't already, try them out. Ask for Henry and if you're going on the weekend definitely make an appointment. He has lots of clients! He's great at shaping and designing and I always get great pedicures from the other staff members. Let's see, used to take my wife here all the time 2 years ago and recently decided to come back and try it but never will again after this. Henry was by far the worse nail tech I have come across. It was a tie between him coughing all over my hands while doing my nails to him leaving mid session to do a smoke break (coming back and reeking of smoke, so unprofessional) you gotta do better w your employee professionalism. I will spread word about this and will be looking into another nail salon for my wife. Went in to try a new nail salon since I'm new to the area. Worst experience. The tools had rust on them. My nails are bleeding. The nails looks horrible, uneven, messy and overall just bad. I went to a new nail salon just to get a new set it was so ugly I'm embarrassed to be seen with them. Went for them to fix my nails, as I had some acrylic ones already and didn't like the job they had done. I asked for a pedicure, which was poorly done. She did take off my nails and made them shorter and added another color, gel. Horrible job. She was doing it so fast, but not even being efficient. They had people in line, and only one lady and a guy doing nails, so she definitely rushed through it. I made an appointment for a reason. So when I went in I was immediately placed with someone. I had to get my acrylics soaked off and wanted a pedicure as well. Pedicure went fine except jagged. When he went to cut my cuticles he cut very deep into my left hand. He then did not attempt to file my nails even though I asked multiple times. The paint was streaky as well. Got my nails done here last Saturday with my mother. Henry did mine and he was recommended by a friend. I let him know what I wanted... I SPECIFICALLY SAID I WANTED THEM THICK SINCE I WEIGHT TRAIN. He says to me if you have any problems within your the week I will fix them for free. Well they weren't thick at all (they were the thinnest they've ever been for being thick) how do I know two of them broke on Wednesday evening. I called they were closed. Thursday they were closed. I called at least ten times on Friday and Saturday and whoever answered said he wasn't there. It's Sunday and they are closed. Henry immediately noticed and offered some suggestions of products to try to help. He was super gentle and very considerate of my sensitive cuticles! Great conversation and very sweet! Got a regular pedicure and shellac on my fingers nails. My overall experience was really great, everyone was very friendly and it was a relaxing environment. However the girl who did my shellac could have done a better job. My cuticles and the shellac polish weren't cleaned up well. The shellac is overlapping some of my skin which can cause the shellac to lift over time. She did a better job on my pedicure, there was some polish on my skin that could have been cleaned off easily, but you can't do that with shellac once dried. read more

I started going to this place when I moved to San Antonio and started a new job. I had only gotten my nails done once in my life previously, and it was painful and time-consuming, so I was a little worried about having it done again. They were so nice and extremely knowledgeable and helpful; they explained everything to me about the process and worked to give me exactly what I wanted. The acrylics worked so well that I never had to replace them, just get them filled, and the polish has always lasted until it grew out and I had to have them redone. I tried two other salons in the past since my first visit because this one is closed on Sundays, but they weren't nearly as good or friendly, and my polish only lasted a few days before chipping and fading.
