We love L&B in Bakersfield. We have been more than once. We have had dine in and take away. It is an adorable place and it is so clean and nicely appointed. It is very comfortable. They have booths, counter seating and I saw some out door seating once. The service is spectacular. Whether you are getting take away or eating there you will be happy. The servers are so kind and they are fast. They know the menu. The food is just great. All of it. They have a Camarones al mojo all crammed into a burrito. That is one of our favorite things. Their guacamole is great and always fresh. We love their rice and beans and their chips are always fresh. You will be happy with any shrimp dish you get. They also have wonderful salads and their steak is just perfect. You will love it. Parking is easy.
My husband and I was looking for a place to eat and we came across this spot. Food was really good! This place is definitely a must if you guys are looking for a good Mexican spot. When you first walk in you're welcomed by a lot of friendly faces. The staff is very nice and attentive. The restaurant is clean and they have a nice variety on their menu. There has never been a wait time here, so if you're in a rush they don't take long. This is a nice place for a small or large group because they have a lot of tables, the only thing is they don't have alot of parking during busy hours.
Favorite place any day of the week..short and sweet review Grub : Camarones al mojo de Ajo stuffed in a burrito, with a side of refried beans, but it came with more onions and peppers than I could tolerate but very tasty with a great amount of shrimp. Refried beans are some of the best I've had, and the chips and salsa plus my 3‑item combo (chicken taco ,enchilada and chile relleno) were all tasty. Very few seeds in the relleno Last bit... Check out their weekday drink deal $6 margaritas from 3 pm to close, Monday through Friday. Sign at the front door on yellow poster board written in sharpie means this probably won't last long...
My wife and I came here for the first time tonight at we were very happy overall with the food, music/atmosphere and service. We started with the asada fries. This was awesome! Fries were seasoned, perfectly cooked (not raw or burnt), and each piece of meat was tender and juicy. Flavor overall was really good. I ordered the carnitas dinner and my wife had the chicken flautas dinner. My carnitas were cooked really well, crispy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. Only thing I would say is that they could have used a little more flavor. However, they were still good. The rice and beans were also good. Same suggestion for the rice, needs a little more flavor, but still good. My wife's flautas were really good. Chicken was full of flavor and not dried out like some restaurants. The chicken flautas were perfect. Lastly, our sever, Marisol, was really nice and checked on us frequently. No issues with the server whatsoever. She was great. Atmosphere was relaxing and they play classic rock. Stuff like Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Eagles, etc. loved it! We are excited to go back and try more dishes.
The food was delicious. The service was excellent. The restaurant was pretty empty for a saturday night dinner. I went by myself for dinner, I was craving mexican food and didn't feel like cooking. I thought I would try this place, it's been on my list for a while. It's nicely decorated inside with a full bar, a couple of big screen televisions and plenty of seating. I went by myself and I felt totally comfortable. I was craving taquitos, so that's what I ordered with beans and rice and a bloody mary. First of all, the chips and salsa were delicious. I loved the salsa, it was homemade. It wasn't too spicy. It was just right, but they do have more spicy salsas which they offer you also. The taquitos were good too and made from scratch. I would have liked more guacamole on my plate. That was my only complaint and next time, I'll ask for that. I will definitely be going back to try some of their other dishes. They have a very large menu with lots of choices. The food was authentic and the drink was very good.
For some odd reason I was craving a wet burrito for lunch. Searched Yelp for a wet burrito and this place was nearby. Had never eaten here do decided to give it a try. When entering I was shocked by how big the place actually is as its deceiving from the outside. A bar with quite a few seats and both low and high top tables. Service was prompt and efficient. I ordered an asada burrito and requested it to be wet, i also requested easy on the rice and beans. I dont know if the missed the easy on the rice and beans request because the burrito was huge. It was packed with asada that had good flavor and not one chewy piece in the entire burrito. I will be back to try more. I heard the waitress telling another customer their breakfast was amazing. I must say all of the food I saw coming to tables nearby also looked good..
This is a cute & colorful restaurant, very family friendly. Classic rock plays in the background. They appear to be well loved by their regulars. My server was prompt & polite. They serve those very thin crispy homemade tortilla chips with a tasty roasted salsa, yum! I was just in for a quick snack and ordered a couple of crispy chicken tacos. My food came out quickly. They use those thin tortillas for this as well. I loved the crunch, but when the tortillas are that thin in a taco they disintegrate on the first bite so you just eat them with a fork. They were okay but not outstanding.
This place had some bomb chicken fajitas! It was loaded with chicken and veggies and the rice and beans were killer. The staff was so nice and always made sure we had what we needed. It looks small on the outside but once you step in there's plenty of seating for couples or if you're like us and have at least 6 people they also accommodate to their best as well. I wish I had a picture of my food but hey, I dug in
Quick service, bold chips & salsa ignite the palate. The wet carne asada burrito and enchiladas plate deliver authentic satisfaction. Give this spot a try while in the area. Clean and calming atmosphere.
Went here for a birthday celebration with friends. Eight out of eight of us did not find the food or bar beverages worthy of a repeat. Reviews were good so I was excited to try this spot. The service was excellent, and churros were very good though. The food was overall salty and lacking of any other flavors. Almost all of us had half a plate of cold food and half a plate of plate so hot you could burn your fingertips, almost as if the food plate was sitting halfway under a heating lamp too long. We were there at suppertime, and there was only one family of four in the restaurant during our entire meal.

We decided to try this place for the first based on reviews. It was Saturday afternoon and it was not real busy. That's okay since it was the lullaby period. The waitress was promptly at our table at very pleasant. The food was served hot and on point with flavor. I did notice the Relleno was flavorful. Ask for their hotter salsas. They will bring out some private stash that does not come with the chips. read more

My husband and I came to try L&B Restaurant and absolutely loved it. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and made to feel welcome. We got to choose our seating, and our waitress Lisa was amazing, super sweet, knowledgeable, and incredibly efficient even while the restaurant was busy. The ambience truly makes this place special. Everyone treats you like family, using terms like mija and mijo, which made it feel just like home, comfortable, cozy, and heartwarming. The food was excellent. The coffee was good, the chips and salsas were delicious, and the guacamole paired perfectly with their salsa. We also ordered their famous menudo, and it was outstanding, full of flavor, very clean, not oily, and no strong pork taste. Adding chile de aceite and lemon made it even better. Portions were generous and prices very reasonable. We wanted to try more but got full. We are definitely coming back. 1,000,000/10--highly recommend! read more

Stopped by to order a tray of rice for 50 people for a party and decided to try their food. They have several good specials, my husband ordered the chicken crispy tacos with a mimosa and I ordered the relleno and beans it was so delicious. If I had to describe this restaurant in one word it would be AUTHENTIC, reminds me of my mom's cooking. Great food and awesome customer service. Oh side note the large order of rice for our party was AMAZING !! read more

First off service was great, they were very attentive. Only issue we had was that we had asked for corn tortillas on some tacos and they came in flour. We asked about it and assured us they were flour . As for beverages they serve beer but no liquor yet, they did say they make a margarita out of some kind of wine but we passed on that. Chips and salsa hit our table almost immediately which I appreciated. Salsa had a Mild heat but decent flavor. I prefer spicy. Just before our food showed up though they came over with 2 bottles filled with a red and green salsa. Now that red salsa had some heat that sneaks up on you. Green one was good to. The carnitas plate came a bit different than normal. They are usually shredded but they came in looking like pork chops. The waitress explained that to me when I ordered them so I was ok with trying them. Came with lettuce guacamole tortillas rice and beans. Carnitas had flavor but a bit dry, rice and beans tasted like home made! Queso birria tacos were tasty and crispy. Carne asada tacos came in flour tortillas so they were pretty healthy in size. My buddy had no complaints. All in all I would go again. read more

I moved from OC to Bakersfield and haven't found a place with good asda fries till I found L&B! As a woman owned small business they are doing amazing! Im so glad I found it & always have the best experience read more

First time here and wow. Was very impressed with the place. Casual inside, however servers so outstanding! Prompt and great service. Nothing was forgotten, offered fresh chips prior to being done with first. We did have to ask for salsa as the original serving was small. As was second however so delicious. Not watery but fresh cilantro and fixings. I ordered shredded beef flautas. Perfect, the rice was tasty and beans full of cheese. Hubby has cheese enchilada with great sauce, plenty of cheese. He also likes the beans and rice. Server was on point refilled iced tea immediately. We will try something else, will be hard as the flautas were amazing. No fat on beef at all just flavor. Hopped into L & B Mexican restaurant for breakfast this morning or... or brunch more like it since it was late morning. I saw this place pop up on my Instagram feed from US Foods, so I wanted to check them out. The menu offers a limited selection of Mexican specialty dishes ranging from Chilaquiles to pork chili, Verde and Birria, a few seafood dishes, and pozole, and menudo on weekends only. I ordered the shredded beef taquitos plate, which came with rice and beans. I mostly judge a Mexican restaurant by how well they do the rice and beans and these were absolutely fantastic! The taquitos were delicious, although a bit over fried because the shredded beef inside was also crispy. My entire breakfast was delicious and I paired it with a cup of coffee. The staff was very friendly and professional. When I walked in, I was instructed to sit anywhere I liked, and the table was already set up with a couple of place settings and menus. Right away the staff brought me salsa and chips. I enjoyed my food so much that I ordered a couple of to go items for the kiddos at home. I ordered the sampler appetizer and the cactus salad, which the kiddos enjoyed at home. While I was waiting for my to go order, I was talking to one of the servers who turned out to be one of the owners. The owner I spoke to is Lupita, who told me that she is from Cuernavaca and the other owner is Betty who is from Mexico City. I thought the restaurant just recently opened since I saw a banner outside that said now open however, they opened a year ago in March. Congratulations to the business owners for their one year anniversary! I will definitely go back and try other dishes, in the meantime, I wish the best of luck to the owners and a steady flow of business. Enjoy!! read more
Wanted to try L&B based off the reviews. The restaurant wasn't busy on a Saturday night and we got seated right away. The chips and salsa came quickly and the salsa had good flavor. My husband had the quesabirra tacos and raved about how amazing it was. I had the beef flautas and they were good too. Their rice and beans had a lot of flavor. The staff were nice and attentive. The rest of my family enjoyed their meals as well. My Dad is older and we find it hard to find places where the music isn't too loud so we can still have a conversation. Even though they had a few TVs on and some music, we were still able to hear each other. Having tried their fries, I want to go back and get their asada fries. I really hope word gets out and more people come support this local business. read more
We finally tried out L & B Mexican restaurant on Coffee Rd. Saturday for lunch. We all loved our dishes, but the rice was a standout for me. I love Spanish/Mexican rice, and this one was packed with flavor. We enjoyed Enchilada Suiza, Chili Verde, and Camarones de ajo something something.
