Torn paper that was almost consumed from the paper to-go plates.

Very good food! I ordered the lengua fries with everything. Didn't take a picture of the food before I scarfed it down..it looked like any other order of loaded fries you can get. But I could only give 4 stars because this is the first place that served fries in a paper to-go plate?? Lol. I don't understand why the owner would serve delicious juicy lengua fries in a paper plate. Yes, I ended up eating and spitting out paper from the to-go plate. Lol. Besides that it was delish.

My boyfriend and I stopped by on our way home from Kings Canyon when I decided to search some recommendations near us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The hospitality was friendly and the restaurant was so fresh and calm inside with outdoor seating as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ate our food so quickly; not only because we were famished, but because the food was so flavorful, hot and fresh. I got the Large fries, they were so yummy I ate the whole thing. My boyfriend got the taco combo which he practically inhaled.

Not sure about this place, as it says there's an owner change on the window entering into the business. It's possible the food isn't what it's been in the past. This place had much higher rating considering what I got. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Establishment was clean and the staff was nice and attentive, but nothing special as far as the business is concerned.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Same ole, taco spot mentality. A bar full of salsa, lemon and radishes. As far as the food goes, I had 3 tacos, to try them out. Sadly they were just OK. Nothing really stood up and above the competition. The fish taco was good, filled with cabbage, tomatoes, onions, cilantro and a sauce. It was tasty and maybe slightly above others I've tasted, but nothing to warrant return for same. Tri Tip taco was priced higher than the pastor taco, but was the least liked taco of the three. Meat was ok, kinda bland taste, minimal seasoning and nothing special! Pastor taco was pretty good, and the best of the three for me! Pretty flavorful, good seasoning on the meat and with a little green salsa it was elevated above the others. Was it amazing?!?! No, but was I unhappy with my meal?!?! No. All and all, I think in the world of the high competition, Mr. Avocado's is just OK. Nothing really standing out to make me want to return. I've been to so many places, where one bite and you're like, WOW....Unfortunately, this isn't one of those places. If it's close to where you live, the food is good, would I drive across town for dinner here? Probably not!

Service is good. Ordered a burrito for$10.99. They charged $1.50 more to add cheese and & 75 cent to use bank card. Don't burrito's normally come with cheese? Food was average.

    Fries, Cali and salsas.
    Jason Z.

The burrito meat and beans were ok while the salsas and French fries were bad. My fries were not cooked, limp and tasted like a paste. A Cali-Burrito with raw fries was gross. The salsas had no flavor, I don't understand what happened to them? No passion or heart, the food lacked soul. The employees were nice, the food was bad. There is no reason to for me return, that was a waste of a good lunch. I had such fond memories of the last meal there.

Passing through Bakersfield and decided to look for a quick place to stop for a taco. Two exits to go and we could try a new restaurant, sure! So glad we did. Party of 2 @ 2:00pm Less than $20 (no drinks included) Restaurant is in a shopping center with plenty of parking. Honey ordered a Hot Cheetos Taco and I enjoyed the California Burrito with chili verde. Honey gave the taco a thumbs up! A generous amount of cheese and Cheetos on a fresh and warm corn tortilla. We took the order to go and he said, "I should have ordered another one." Oh well. My burrito was amazingly fresh and delicious. Wait, is my nana working in the kitchen? The chili verde tasted perfectly homemade and the potatoes cut and cooked just like my nana used to make them. Beware, the burrito is HUGE! Cut it in half and save the rest for a snack. Grab some salsa from the salsa bar. Of course I had to try the hotest one and oh yes, it's delicious. Customer service was friendly and our order was prepared within 10 minutes. We will definitely be back when in town!

Had the chilaquiles with green salsa and chorizo and my boyfriend had the asada fries. Recommended 10/10! Prices are super cheap and quality of food is so good!!! Will come again when I pass through Bakersfield!!

Overall the food and portions were good. The shrimp tacos had a sauce that was a little spicy for me but I'm a guerita so there's that. The Tri tip tacos were stupid good. Very flavorful and not dry at all. Exceeded expectations by far. Rice and beans were good. My son said his burrito was delicious and HUGE. The asada fries could have had more fries, seemed a little skimpy, but still overall good! They do charge an extra fee if you don't pay cash (though many places do). I wish they served Coke and not Pepsi products but at least they have Coke in a can or bottle as well as jarritos, beer and Gatorade to choose from if you don't like Pepsi (like me! ) We will definitely be back to try the breakfast burritos because Bakersfield lacks good breakfast burritos!

    Very good.
    James R.

Been here twice now and both times I got great food at a very reasonable price (for California that is). 1st time I went it was on a Sunday and they were the only eating place open in the area at the time that wasn't some burger chain. Got the Cali burrito and LOVED IT! Not sure what they put in their avocado sauce but I'm def down with it. Not much else to recommend in Bakersfield but this place def worth a stop if ur hungry and passing thru!

First off it was a steady flow of customers for a Wednesday evening. Many birthdays! We were sat immediately and waiter came to take our drink order. I had a mango chamoy margarita, while my husband got a roasted chili cucumber margarita on the rocks. His drink was SPICY! I ordered the shrimp fajitas and my husband ordered the chicken and steak molcajete. Our food was brought out super fast! The portions - humongous! But the food is so good! My husband is super picky when it comes to Mexican food, and he said this molcajete is his favorite so far compared to other Mexican restaurants we've been to. The bright colorful colors and great music selection really make it joyous and fun dining experiences. Highly recommend.

Shrimp skewers I was told was okay but even that had more veggies than actual shrimps. The rice wasn't cooked all the way. The presentation on nachos was excellent but the nachos were gross. No flavor in guacamole. Beans were plain beans bland af. The chicken wasn't seasoned and had an awful charbroiled taste, just awful! The salsa weren't spicy or tasty. Parking is street only, but trust me... it's 100% worth the hassle. From the moment we walked in, the experience was great. We were warmly greeted and given the option to get recommendations or browse the menu ourselves, which I appreciated. After taking our time, we ordered the chicken quesadilla, nacho fries, and a California burrito, along with salsa verde, chubbie salsa, and chipotle salsa. The food? Incredible. A solid 10/10. Everything was packed with flavor, the meat was juicy (not dry at all), and the salsas absolutely stole the show. On top of that, the staff really made the experience stand out. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Great food, great music (nothing but bangers the whole time), and amazing service. The place is pretty easy to find on the corner of 18th & R. There isn't a lot of seating for more than parties of 4. We were a party of 6 and we all smooshed into a horseshoe booth inside. There are only 2 of these booths available and they indicated they are not able to place additional seating at the booths. I imagine you might be able to put tables together outside for a larger party. We were greeted warmly, and while I felt overwhelmed by the amazing choices, the gal taking our order put me at ease by walking me through the menu board. We got amazing carnitas quesadillas and tacos and another dish that came on top of a mound of delicious fries. It's the kind of place where you order, then sit down and they bring you the food. We were well taken care of. Our drinks were refilled and they brought us 'to go' boxes. Their portions are generous and just tasty. And the iced tea was perfect! We ordered a full order of chips and salsa. That is extra. It was $6 for a full order ($5 for half) and these chips were well worth the cost. We will be back!
