Told me why she thought she should do the cut she did and I was thrilled .... turns out it looks really great. Was my first time there and you have to know what your looking for otherwise you might just miss it. I scoped out a few days before my appt. They have four painted parking spaces; however, one has a third of the parking space taken up by a dumpster. The next two are fine and the last space is for handicap parking. You can park across the street in a secure parking lot but then you have to cross McCullough Avenue. It wasn't a problem for me as far as problems go, but McCullough Avenue is tricky when you're driving a car much less trying to cross the street ..... next time I'll wait across the street and pull into a parking space as soon as it opens up. For me, because I'm 65 years young, it's the best solution. read more

I normally do not write reviews but I feel like I have to warn others about my experience here. I went to this salon on November 15, 2023 trying to save some money and booked with a level 1 stylist fresh out of cosmetology school. I deeply regret that decision. I asked for simple curtain bangs and the stylist completely butchered the right side of my hair. She told me she was fresh out of cosmetology school and it honestly showed. The cut was uneven, choppy, and way shorter than I asked for. It was so bad that I have been self conscious about my hair ever since. What makes it worse is that my hair has never been the same. I take very good care of my hair and it used to grow evenly and healthy. Three years later and that section still has not grown back properly. I have had to style around it constantly and it has been extremely frustrating. I trusted this salon and left feeling upset and embarrassed. If you care about your hair at all, I would strongly reconsider booking with a level 1 stylist here. Saving money is not worth dealing with damage that lasts for years. read more

I have been going with Amber for a while now and followed her from her previous location. She is amazing! Very informed, educated and compassionate! She most recently helped me recover my hair from my impulsive decision to bleach on my own! She was very patient and brought my hair back to life. The salon is clean, comfortable and well versed in services. If you're not sure where to park, there is parking across the street by the block fences or along the street. I found this salon on google and recommended it to my friend, she had a good experience; I can't say the same. I showed up on time, waited 45 minutes and asked how much longer, finally got sat I showed her what I wanted she said "yeah we can do that" she then left and came back 10 mins later and said she couldn't do it she didn't feel comfortable bleaching my hair, I said what if we cut it? "No, seems like you like it long" she replied then she offered to cover my roots but I declined as I can do that myself. I haven't had my hair done or bleached in over 20 months, I was excited to get it done after a while. I am well aware of bleach, its not like is milk that you're putting on the hair, damage everyone gets it. My friend was so surprised and couldn't believe it, because she got her hair done. Not sure if is the place for people with thin, frizzy hair, my hair is not looking the best but offer option on maybe not going too light, we can do caramel lights or something but to flat out say no, after I said cut it! I have never felt so bad about myself, I guess this aint the place, they do not work with all hair types, I just realized most of the beautiful blondes on their site are of white women. So happy I found this salon on google. I never felt comfortable at the hair salon I used to visit downtown which cost an arm and a leg for a basic cut but this place was very warm, welcoming, and reasonably priced. This salon is a repurposed house so parking is limited but there's an additional parking lot right across the street that can be used. At check in, the girl gave me a tour of the salon which I enjoyed. I had an appointment and was seen right away. The care I received from my assigned hair stylist was above and beyond. There's coffee and mimosas available. I left feeling refreshed and with a cute cut. Thanks to L&J I found some new hair products that smell AMAZING called Oribe. I really wanted to like this salon. However, they appear to be wrapped up in latest trends and not the basics. Unfortunately, I went for just a woman's haircut and style to see if they might be a good long term fit for me since my stylist of 12 years moved to Austin. I was rushed through. Barely anyone outside the owner talked to me. The staff that did the shampoo did not make conversation, rushed the shampoo, unevenly applied the conditioner and walked away. I laid there for 10 mins not knowing what was next or when. Finally the stylist showed up and rinsed the conditioner. The stylist never asked me about how I like to style my hair .. just how much I wanted removed. She rushed the cut and did not check for even lengths on the left and the right side. She blew out my hair but did not style my hair. At that point I was disappointed, stressed and just wanted out. I did not voice my concerns at the time. My hair will not flow or curl how I like it ... Austin bound I am to get a real cut and style. read more

My stylist was Alba she listened to what I wanted to do with my hair (haircut) and also gave me tips on how to style. I got curtain bangs with a face frame and layers. My hair looks amazing and feels so soft! I have very thick course curly hair and tender headed she was gentle and it was nice getting to know each other. I'm not a review person but this place deserves it, I made an appointment to get my hair done, I live 40 minutes from the place, they ask for your credit card in case there is a cancellation that was fine with me, the day of my appointment arrived I called them to ask where I could park since the place is small and there is nowhere to park. The woman at the front desk responded that my appointment was at 10 am and that I had arrived late and that the stylist could no longer accommodate me. attend, I told him my appointment is at 10:30 and I traveled 40 minutes and apart from that they charged me a $60 fee for cancellation! The most ridiculous thing is that I went there and first they didn't want to serve me and two of them charged me a cancellation fee, I don't understand how these people with a lack of professionalism can do that, play with their clients' money and time and even worse New clients, my lesson is not to give my credit card to these places. read more
