    Chicken Katsu Bowl

Was craving Hawaiian bbq and hadn't found any places that were good so I searched around and eventually found this spot! Plenty of reviews and good reviews at that led us to check out this location! It is a small restaurant with limited seating but they also offer takeout. You are greeted by a very friendly cashier who gives plenty of recommendations and variety. You can order on a self order kiosk or through the attendee. I ordered a chicken katsu bowl with double Mac salad and one scoop of white rice and it took some time to get out food. However, once it arrived we were blown away by the portion and how delicious it looked. Everything was absolutely incredible once we took our first bite and I inhaled almost the entire plate. This is a new favorite of ours and we will definitely be back if we are in the area.

I ordered on the app for their limited time Friday BOGO lunch deal. The food is really good, well seasoned, and is pretty legit. What I remember more is going inside to pick up my order and the people there were so nice! It had some seating available, with the location being a pretty small space, and the workers were incredibly kind. All of them said "Aloha" and "Mahalo" to me when they could which made me feel so welcome. When I walked in, one of the employees were still chatting with another table. These people have great customer service and I highly recommend this for a wonderful Hawaiian experience. Aloha!

I really enjoyed how patient the waitress was since it was my first time in a Hawaiian restaurant! I arrived just before rush hour that day, so the little restaurant's ambiance was calm with soft music. As for the food, the chicken katsu was fresh (I enjoyed their sauce!), the salads were crispy, and I enjoyed their taro boba tea that they served that day. I ordered to go, but I ended up eating at the restaurant because the food smelled so good!

This restaurant is small with a well maintained seating area. I liked the themed decor. There is a very clear digital menu and also printed menus. It's also convenient that the menu is available online and includes the nutritional information. I received an enthusiastic greeting upon entering. The counter person was helpful and friendly. I ordered a coconut pineapple smoothie, the light chicken meal and spam saimin. While refreshing, the smoothie is more of a slushy. I added a bit of sweetener when I got home with my food and it was great. The light chicken plate came with a large portion of grilled chicken thigh on a bed of cabbage, brown rice and salad with a very yummy dressing. The spam saimin is essentially ramen with spam in it. Overall a good experience, I'll visit again.

SEAFOOD COMBO with fried fish, fried shrimp and garlic shrimp

Felt the Ohana at this super friendly Hawaiian bbq restaurant down the street! I got the mixed seafood plate with garlic shrimp, fried shrimp and fried fish (comes with macaroni salad and rice- and their rice is sooooo yummy) and my friend tried their bbq chicken with veggies plate and said it was delicious. Nice portion sizes- big menu too.

Good portion size, great price. garlic chicken had great flavor and katsu was super tender. I like the macaroni salad. Will come here again to try their other meats.

I was so excited that I checked back on the location over and over to see if it was opened.

I couldn't be more thrilled that L&L Hawaiian BBQ has finally made its way to my neck of the woods in Georgia! We went on their opening day, and it was everything I hoped it would be, nd more. Growing up with L&L in California, this place holds a special place in my heart, and now having it just minutes from home feels like such a gift. My family is blended, with some members of Hawaiian descent, and it means the world to have food that not only tastes great but also connects us to our culture and roots. The familiar flavors, the smell of fresh BBQ, and the perfectly cooked rice and mac salad, it instantly brought back memories of home. What made the experience even more special was the Auntie working that day. She was so kind, warm, and welcoming -- just like being at a family gathering. She greeted us with a smile, shared a few laughs, and truly made us feel right at home. The new location is spotless, beautifully set up, and gives off such good vibes. It's clear that the owners and staff take pride in what they're doing, and it shows in every detail -- from the cleanliness of the space to the love in the food. If you grew up with L&L or are craving a genuine taste of Hawaii, this is it. Whether it's your first time or your hundredth plate lunch, you'll walk away full, happy, and maybe a little nostalgic. Mahalo, L&L, for bringing a piece of Hawaii to Georgia.

Wow a taste of Hawaii in Dacula! The moco loco was fantastic! The gravy was spot on! And the mac salad was great! Service was fast and food came out quickly! Food was cooked to order! Ambiance was great! Restaurant was only a week old when visiting but will be back!

I had the BBQ mixed plate!!

I can't believe I discovered one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. It is in Dacula and the food was amazing and then we met Jeff and Maria and their son who were even more amazing. The Aloha spirit is very evident especially the local Grindz, and the food was so Onolicious, that it broke the mouth. (Local Hawaii slang). After living in Hawaii for 5 years, this place brought back the memories of Hawaii and the deliciously local food. Maria is from Hawaii and they have really brought the Aloha Spirt to Georgia! Go support them they deserve it! Mahalo, Tim (Ga Flip) Aquino.

I really love L&L in California and am so happy to see them in Georgia now! The only thing is the Saimin portion is very small. I've ordered it at a California location and the portion was way bigger so was a little disappointed at that. The food took a little while to come out but that's expected at a brand new place. The owner lady is so nice! She's very sweet and just wants you to have a great experience.

    Charge $21.18

It was my second time eating here and probably won't be going again, the rice was so cold, the katsu chicken had so much fat. I ordered 1 mini shrimp plate and 1 kids katsu chicken plate it took 27 minutes to get my food, it wasn't even busy.My daughter and I ended up throwing our food away, such a waste of $21.

We definitely won't use it as a destination type barbecue purveyor. And they're in the neighborhood. The quality of the food is good. The method they use to quantify the amount of food they present you is sorry, at best. The customer service was bland, borderline....sullen. Maybe, they were having a bad day. And I spent almost $100 for a selection of items. The easiest way for me to present our experience is through pros and cons. And here we go.... PROS: 1. Some of the best chopped pork, we've ever had. It was the perfect blend of fat to lean, moist, smokey and no cartilage, gristle or bone. 2. The ribs were fairly meaty, cooked very well and slightly smokey. You could see a definite smoke line. The seasoning was decent. 3. The Brunswick Stew had discernable components. It didn't look like a can of mushed up dog food with corn kernels in it. I usually don't care for Brunswick Stew, but I liked this. It is fairly spicey. I liked that. 4. The hot barbecue sauce was much better than the regular. It still tasted like anything you can grab off a shelf at the store. CONS: 1. Questionable way they decide what is a serving size. I paid TWENTY DOLLARS for 3/4 of a Styrofoam lunch box of chopped pork. I'm trying to post a picture. They were verrrry evasive when asked to quantify by weight, the amount of meat that you receive. Evasive....almost indignant. I wonder if this varies from customer to customer. 2. I've never, in decades, been to a barbecue joint where the cooks so purposefully and diligently AVOIDED talking with the customers. I'm a very gregarious type and these people just would not talk to me. And they weren't busy. I felt like I was an annoyance the whole time I was dropping a C note there. 3. The Cole Slaw was little more than pre-packaged, shredded cabbages and carrots, doused in sugar water. The container was barely 3/4 full. Now that I think of it........we won't be going back. They need to work on customer interaction and actually sell you their product based on genuine weights and measurements.

Plenty of parking here, we got lucky considering it's Saturday and we got one of the last grill tables open. Our server was Isaac, who was helpful and thorough for our questions. We chose to go with one of the combination meals that offered 3 different beef types and 2 pork options. The banchan is excellent here. They have really perfected the dishes they offer which complement the meal nicely. We chose a soup (choice of 3 options) and went with the cheese corn and the egg soufflé as our sides. Shaved onions with a sweet soy vinaigrette, lettuce with a saltier edge, spicy fish cakes, kimchi, jap chae, green onions with bean sprouts and a spicy gochujang based sauce, pickled radish. It's all good. Don't be shy, ask for more. It's literally some of the best I've had. The quality of meat was unmatched. Marinated Beef rib, rib fingers, Unmarinated steak, marinated pork ribs, and unmarinated pork belly. They give 3 different dipping options for the unmarinated meats. Also quite complementary for the meal. The owner, Kyung, was helping out because it was super busy. She was very friendly, and happy to see we came all the way from Cumming to try her restaurant. Banchan offered are japchae, corn cheese, kimchi, sesame broccoli, pickled radishes, egg soufflé and rice. Japchae, sesame broccoli and egg soufflé was tasty. I wasn't a fan of the corn cheese as it came out in these little aluminum cups with cheese on top and it's left on the grill until the cheese melts. The service is good. You cook the meat yourselves here, but our server came around to take our orders and change the grills pretty often. 985 also offers a ramen bar for an additional cost at the center of the restaurant. Seating is very close and intimate and nice music is playing in the background. At first glance it seemed like a place you would want to come back to again and again. The waitress/cashier was very welcoming upon our entrance. I don't know if she was one of the owners but she was very nice and apologetic. We drove 30 minutes to try out this restaurant and let's just say it was not worth the drive. Since it was our first time there we were excited to try some of the ribs. Unfortunately they were out of the pork ribs. They were also out of the mac and cheese. That was a little disappointing but I figured because we got there around 7 and they close at 8 they could have run out of items. No biggie. We opted to get the fried chicken with fries and fried mushrooms. I got the pulled pork sandwich with onion rings, and a lemonade. The lemonade was perfect, to me it wasn't too sweet and had just enough tartness to make you want to drink more. Presentation was EVERYTHING. When the sandwich came out I wasn't even sure how to eat it lol. It looked great on the wooded plate. I wish the plates would have been bigger because the sandwich was a little sloppy, nonetheless it was presented very classy. The bowl that the onion rings came in was also wood and it was cute and different. I have not seen dishes like this before. The chicken was on one of the wooded classy plates a little small for the chicken but cute as well. Now here is the part where I had to deduct stars. The chicken was fried perfectly, it was juicy, crispy and hot. The only thing that was missing was the seasoning. It was very bland there was absolutely no salt or pepper or any flavoring that I could taste on the chicken. I just knew we couldn't go wrong with the chicken because after all it is a bbq spot right? Wrong..maybe because it was late they were just trying to get the food out so they could go home. But whatever the case it was not good. We did not have any bbq sauce or hot sauce. It wasn't offered and we didn't ask. Same thing with the fried mushrooms. The coating did not have any flavor and we did not have any dipping sauce. Again we didn't ask and it wasn't offered. The waitress did provide ketchup with both meals, but I feel like something was off with the flavoring. The onion rings were good and the steak fries were good. I would not drive that distance just for those items. One couple at a table next to ours had something that looked like fish or very large chicken tenders. Either way hers did look good but I wondered if it had any flavor. Hers was plain, no sauce or anything like that. I did see she had something to dip the food in and it looked like she enjoyed it. As I mentioned previously it is a very cosy atmosphere. It was very humid inside though and the sunlight was beaming in hard. The waitress tried to close the curtains but that didn't help much because the curtains were kind of see-through so the sun still hit us hard in the face and back, and again because it was so late maybe they had turned down the a/c. The waitress did apologize but basically there was nothing she could do about that. They do have a rewards program that you can sign up for to aquire points and discounts on things but I wasted time signing up because I will not be returning. I was so excited to have a new bbq place to frequent but unfortunately this will not be the one. To end on a positive note, the presentation was everything and the environment was very inviting.

My meal totaled about $25 which I thought was fair for a large dinner and a side of Mac and cheese. The portions were hearty which was a plus! The ribs were really good, mildly spicy with a smoked flavor! Came with four full bones. Sauce on the side was good as well, I'd definitely order again. 8.5/10 for ribs I was NOT a fan of the rice and peas, they were different than what I'm used to and seriously lacked flavor, not authentic at all. 5/10 because the texture was at least good. Cabbage was fine, nothing to write home about. It wasn't mushy or anything but slightly overcooked and also lacked flavor. 5/10 The Mac and cheese tasted better than it looked in my opinion lol I was expecting a solid, possibly baked mac and cheese but theirs is extremely soupy and heavily seasoned (garlic taste is strong). I received a great sized for $6.25 so no complaint there. I'd rate the Mac 7/10. I'd order again but I'd probably swap the rice for Mac instead which I believe is only a $2.50 Upcharge I will return to try the jerk chicken! Overall, I liked the food I just didn't LOVE it. Didn't ask to give my money back, refund it, he just said call my manager in the morning. Then kept sweeping. I threw away the wings when I got home. I won't be returning, because if these are the type of disrespectful kids they are hiring, I have no desire of supporting.
