Great experience with Meade's. They were professional with the winter check of the furnace and did the best job ever cleaning the 2 stage fan and cleaning the gas burners. In the spring they cleaned all the heat A/C heat exchangers by removing the skins, applying a cleaner, brushing away the dirt buildup and reassembly, My unit is 20 years old my bills are the lowest in my neighborhood. I chose Meade's based on their strong reviews for installing a new attic HVAC unit, and the installation itself was smooth and professional. However, the system was not set up correctly from the start. It relied heavily on auxiliary heat during heating and failed to cool properly when tested at the start of summer. When I reached out to Meade's, their technician confirmed that the outdoor unit wasn't operating correctly and that the refrigerant was significantly out of specification. As a result, the system effectively ran in an incorrect configuration for nearly three months during peak winter, leading to significantly higher electricity bills (about 3x normal). Once corrected, the system behavior changed immediately. This was also clearly evidenced through Nest thermostat history, which showed auxiliary heat being used on nearly every heating cycle during that period. I understand that energy usage was higher for many homeowners during the colder months, but in this case the system behavior changed noticeably after the issue was fixed, which points to a setup issue rather than just weather. These were installation-related issues that should have been caught during initial setup. While Meade's was responsive in sending a technician after i reached out to them to get the system checked, there was no acknowledgment of the impact beyond that. Meade's went above and beyond for us when our AC went out. The owner was in contact with us letting us know that they would get to our home before the end of the business day. Their technician, Mason, showed up an hour earlier than he said he would. He knew what the problem was just by me describing the noise the unit was making. He had it fixed within an hour walking me through what was broken and how he was going to fix it. He also gave a great deal of information of proactive maintenance of the HVAC system. Very poor experience overall. They charged me $79 for scheduled seasonal maintenance which they then called an "inspection". Then told me on site they needed to charge an additional $287 to complete another "inspection", and tried to sell me 1k worth of refrigerant services when all I needed was simple annual maintenance for a perfectly working unit, 3 years old, in a new community, and under warranty. read more

Six weeks later, the motor is still functioning perfectly. Meade's Preventive Maintenance (PM) agreement calls for them to inspect and tighten 24 volt connections. During four previous PM visits (2025, 2024, 2023, and 2022) the technician failed to perform this procedure. Had it ever been done, this problem would never have happened. Meades richly deserves 0 stars, but I will have to settle for 1. They may fancy themselves the sharpest guy in town, but remember knives cut both ways. As with so many of us, I had a complete failure of one of my HVAC systems at my house and was faced with the difficult and time-consuming task of now needing to research and find a qualified and reputable contractor to replace my system. So incredibly glad to have found and selected Meade!s!!! A wonderful small company where you deal with the owners of the corporation! After we agreed on the design of the replacement system there was a considerable delay in receiving all of the equipment given the worldwide supply problems. I knew about the delays ahead of time. Meade's was very good about being upfront with an estimated delivery date from the very beginning and I agreed with it. During this waiting period Meade's was wonderful about communicating with me and giving me regular updates on the expected timeframe that they would have the equipment. Once Meade's had all the equipment they were quick to come out and install my system. I honestly can't say enough good things about this company! They honored every commitment that they made to me, their team of installers were extremely professional - competent, respectful, and neat. Their VP came out to do our consultation for HVAC replacement. Super nice guy and he really knew his stuff. Because of the tight and weird layout of our mechanical room where our furnace and coil sat, he was willing to do some custom metal work to make the layout work a little better. He also was very attentive and noticed the new solar panel work that was done and recommended a heat pump to reduce our energy usage. Really appreciated his time and expertise. The price point seemed a little bit on the high side, and the quote was handwritten. I couldn't tell exactly what model I was getting since there wasn't enough information. We decided to not move forward with the project so we let him know that we were looking forward to doing other business with him in the future. read more

Although Meade's Heating was not able to assist us in installing several smart thermostats in our recently purchased condo (they restrict such work to 4 stories or lower builldings), they were extremely helpful in assessing whether smart thermostats could be used as replacements given what was currently in place - and provided the name of a company that would install the thermostats that was terrific. I bought HVAC system inspection and TUNE UP offer for $99. This is just a trap to get into your house and try to sell you a new system. The guy who showed up did nothing for TUNE UP rather pointed all what is wrong with the system. Then he sold me a yearly maintenance plan for twice a year maintenance visit. During those visits he did no maintenance rather again pointing out what was going wrong with my system and i must replace it. My system stopped cooling and company refused to recharge the system (as per maintenance plan they charged me $29 for visit) saying that they don't recharge using old freon, so same mantra, replace your system. The estimate for replacement of the cooling system was around $10K (additional for furnace around same amount). Luckily I have home warranty which provided me a contractor who recharged my cooling system and "finger crossed" it worked all summer. read more

I initially looked in to various HVAC companies in search of someone local and independently owned. I have seen the Meade's trucks driving around the area from time-to-time so I looked into the company and it was what I was looking for. I went ahead and engaged them for an appointment for a service call...no issues with the my HVAC at this time, just an inspection was needed. A couple of email correspondences, then a call (a call is easier in my opinion but I DID initially request email and they honored it). The owner answered the call, great! We worked our day and time, perfect. Charles came out to inspect the unit. He was prompt, professional, courteous and thorough. The unit is 13 years old, which he did point out, but said is was operating very well. He did not in anyway suggest that the unit required more attention that he already gave it. Honesty! They truly deserve more than just 5 stars!! It all started with a service call, because we needed help changing the filter in our existing HVAC System. YES, the average person should know how to do this, but the construction of the unit rendered it impossible. Rodger came to the rescue; while trying to figure out the filter, he discovered black mold, rust and other unbelievable mechanical issues. So, we had Jason came out and give us a quote to replace the unit and this past Friday, Junior and the Install Team can out. They successfully removed the old unit and installed the new one in one day. These guys were the most professional, pleasant and courteous gentlemen I've ever had the pleasure of doing work in my home. Junior communicated with me all day regarding the progress. They cleaned up and left the house and yard as if they had never been there. I highly recommend them and can't thank them enough for everything. read more

We are currently renovating our home and decided to replace the HVAC/furnace. In addition our vents were built into the floor so we decided we wanted to move them to the ceiling to gain optimal airflow in our house. We met with multiple companies and were referred to Meade by our neighbor. They came out and spent several hours walking through different scenarios for us. It was not a sales pitch in any way, they truly just cared. Needless to say they were hired and built the perfect system. The attention to detail was pure art. That being said, the owner refunded the money I had advanced for the yearly service. Very grateful. A lesson for me not to be swept up by a quick remedy.
