This was a high tourist area so thats probably why it was a little more expensive than other places we visited. The flavors and creamy-ness was good, but the sizing was also smaller than other shops. The man who helped us was nice and spoke English. The other notable thing was that this gelato melted almost immediately. Maybe the freezers weren't cold enough? I was attempting to eat it fast, but it was still running down the cone.

This is a small gelato shop with a couple solid flavors. It seemed to melt pretty fast but the mint gelato was strong and I would get it again. Potion sizes were a little less than normal, but it's also in a pretty touristy area.

The gelato was incredibly delicious and the 8 euro cup was good for 3 of us. We got the pistachio, chocolate, and coffee - everything was good. Credit cards and cash accepted. There's a couple of outdoor seats. There were some sorbet options as well, which is good for vegans.

Loved the gelato and house made cones. I had pistachio and coconut. I was able to try mango as well. The service is exceptional. It's on the corner of the roadway in to city center. Very convenience location. Shop is very clean. I would go back next time I am near by.

Love gelato . They have options for vegans, if you want that. But I had 3 scoops shoved into a cup. I really like the coffee. Big whole coffee beans in it. The lady working gave me a bunch of samples.

This place was amazing. The Vaticono was homemade and delicious. The servings were generous and the owner was very charming. I recommend this place if you find yourself in Rome and craving good gelato and good company.

Was the best gelato I had in Rome (went to many places!). Their coffee gelato was perfectly creamy and delicious!

Traveling to Italy means eating as much gelato as humanly possible. So after eating a decent size meal it was time to follow that up by consuming some gelato. I came into L'Arena del Gelato last night (a Sunday) and it felt like I was walking straight into heaven. This place has a ton of different flavours of gelato to chose from and the winner on this night was the mint chocolate chip in a cone! For only a few dollars you could literally eat some amazing gelato and feel like nothing in the world matters. The mint chocolate chip from this place was absolutely delicious and if I ever find myself near the Vatican again for some reason, I will absolutely be coming back to this place!

Perfection. As someone who struggles with severe peanut, and nut allergies, the owner Giuseppe went above and beyond to make sure I could experience some of Rome's finest gelato. Giuseppe was a kind and humble man who puts his heart into his business. Not only was the gelato delicious, Giuseppe took the time to explain their allergy and production protocols, and even provided me untouched flavors from the back that had no risk of cross contamination of my allergens. I usually avoid ice cream/ gelato places because of the worry of cross contamination, but that was not an issue here! I can't thank L'arena del gelato enough for being my gelato highlight!!! Allergies aside, the GELATO WAS PHENOMENAL, and we returned a couple times during our short stay!!! Courtney Greene

Recommended by a local. Great service, heavy hand with the serving sizes. And the line goes by fast even wth just one employee behind the counter. Not sure how many flavors you can choose but you choose the size of your cup based on the price that's listed on the cup (if that makes sense), reference the pic I uploaded. 5 euro min charge if you use a card. Highly recommend this place over the small carts that are selling snacks and gelato everywhere.

    Happy customer.

Your best bet is to get strategically lost down an alley that looks like it might lead to an ancient curse, and sniff out the smallest gelato joint imaginable. Like, if you can spot it without squinting, it's probably too big. Enter: Gelateria Regusto. No signs, no crowd, just a tiny counter and a couple of flavors that look like they were made by someone's Italian grandma who's been perfecting the recipe since the Roman Empire fell. I went rogue with caramel and pistachio, and let me tell you, this was gelato that whispered, not screamed. Creamy, subtle, and suspiciously low on sugar, like it trusted you to taste actual ingredients instead of just corn syrup. The pistachio didn't taste like a candle, and the caramel didn't slap you with sweetness. It was chill. 10/10 would stumble upon again while pretending not to need Google Maps.

Our final night he told us about Vlad the Impaler since my friend was wearing a Dracula shirt lol. Only complaint would be that there is no where to sit to enjoy your gelato.

Tucked along the lively streets of Trastevere, this little spot delivers gelato with genuine craftsmanship and flavors that taste as authentic as the city around you. The first thing you notice is the freshness. Each flavor looks vibrant--not overly piled or artificially glossy--and you can tell everything is made with real ingredients. One spoonful confirms it: the gelato is creamy, smooth, and beautifully balanced. The fruit flavors burst with natural sweetness, especially the mango and strawberry, while the classics like pistachio, hazelnut, and chocolate showcase that rich, deep, true-to-ingredient taste that only well-made gelato can achieve. Their specialty flavors are equally impressive--unique without feeling gimmicky--and everything is served at the perfect temperature so the texture stays silky, not icy. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the cones have that fresh baked aroma that adds an extra layer of enjoyment. The staff is warm and welcoming, happy to offer suggestions, and patient even when you're debating between ten flavors that all look incredible. The atmosphere reflects Trastevere itself--relaxed, friendly, and full of character. Originally a carpenter and ski instructor, Rohregger followed his partner to Rome to establish his eponymous gelateria. While the most adventurous flavors have gradually been toned down, Gunther still promises the freshest seasonal ingredients in every scoop. I visited the shop just across the Tiber from Trastevere. Bright lights and electronic dance music poured from the storefront into the evening alleyway. The interior feels clean and modern. The whitewashed walls are decorated with Gunther-specific branding. The gelato display cuts diagonally through the room. A large mirror and minimal barstool seating are pressed into the corner. Generally, the flavors were sophisticated but traditional (although the fragrant Mugo Pine was an ambitious option), and the gelato was extra creamy but not overly sweet. The Morogoro Extra Chocolate was the gelato incarnation of the darkest chocolate imaginable, while the Ricotta Stregata was a masterclass in creamy simplicity. The Cafe Espresso leaned heavily into the espresso with crunchy espresso beans mixed in, while the deeply flavorful Pistachio was in need of chopped bits. The complementary waffle chip and wafer straw were a nice bit of texture, if not forgettable. Service was friendly; servers scooped countless samples without batting an eye. A 4-scoop Grander will set you back $7 for a total volume slightly larger than the size of your fist. While the gelato is certainly worth waiting for over the countless nondescript Roman gelaterias, Gunther doesn't quite measure up to the best-of-the-best.

Expecting it to be there one year, I walked over to Piazza Navona and Gelateria Navona had evidently closed. I would then get gelato here and there. I then learned that Giolitti is a long standing gelateria and it's also in the historic center. I filed the name away in my head. Then, one day, I happened to walk right in front of it without even looking for it, so I went in. Giolitti is popular and it can be crowded. I'm going to say that I waited about 10 to 15 minutes. You pay at a counter first, deciding on what you want and how much of it, such as scoops and whether it will be in a cup or a cone. Once up at the counter, they don't rush you, which surprised me. I don't take that much time since I don't experiment much, but I still appreciate the courtesy. The price is roughly what everyone else in the historic center is charging. I always opt for the gelato it in a cup so you can "control" the dripping. The gelato - a mix of dark chocolate and two citrus flavors - was "molto buono." That said, just because it's so popular, I'm not going to downgrade Giolitti for it and complain about the crowds. You downgrade gourmet donut places in the U.S. where their fame has gone to their heads. There is also a spacious salon with nicer decor in which you can eat inside. At this point, Giolitti is really the only gelateria in Rome whose name I remember. I would gladly go back and I recommend it.
