Not a whole lot I can add that hasn't been said. The line moves pretty quick since the place has a few workers taking orders in advance and getting the line together. For a falafel, it's as good as it gets. Definitely ask for extra napkins or ration the one you get cause it can get a little messy. read more

Considering I'm not normally a falafel fan, this place is fantastic! We went late at night and there was still a wait but after trying the food it was definitely worth it. It's a bit cheaper if you get it to go but we decided to eat in. The staff was very friendly and seriously the falafel texture was soooo good! Not soggy like some places. Also it comes with a ton! I got it in the pita and more and more kept appearing as I was eating. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area. read more

I came here in Sept 2007 and it's still the best falafel I've ever had! SERIOUSLY, SOOOO GOOD. My friend and I had already checked out of our hostel on our last day in Paris and were wandering the city when it started raining. I remembered someone had recommended L'As Du Falafel to me before my trip and we decided to duck in here to escape the rain and for some grub since we were nearby. My friend and I chowed down on huge, delicious falafels and a huge plate of fries. When we were done eating, we stayed and chatted until the rain was over -- even though the place was packed, none of the workers said anything or gave us dirty looks. Based on the other reviews, it seems like the place has been publicized quite a bit... but it was still filled with locals and I saw a lot of Orthodox Jews buying falafels from the to-go window outside. It might also be one of the cheapest meals you can get in the city. It's also highly recommended by Lenny Kravitz! read more

NOMZ this place is fantastic! I am no falafel connoisseur but oh my god the falafel was perfectly fried and delicious ! They put two kinds of cabbage, tomatoes, grilled eggplant, and lots of falafel inside the pita. Ps the eggplant was SOO good but they only gave me two pieces :( for six euros u really can't get a better deal. Only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is I find the pita isn't that good. It's soft which is nice but there's really no flavour to it at all. Won't stop me from coming back though! read more

A cousin who was a college student in Paris said "this falafel will change your life!" I thought she just might be exaggerating, until I tried it. It was seriously the best Falafel I've ever had! Flavorful, not dry, and perfectly paired with some salad in the wrap, and arranged so that every bite had a perfect ratio. (Unlike the hambuger places that put all your toppings in a stack so you have to take it apart and rearrange.) They were so busy there was a huge line out the door, but obviously they were used to it because they had a guy taking orders and cash in the line so that you could just pick it up. They had a few (packed) tables inside but this is the sort of food is perfect to take with you as you wander the city, or find a bench in one of the public squares. Amazing, a great change of pace after eating French food for a week. The line moves efficiently so don't be discouraged by its length. After they hand you your falafel go two blocks up to address 10 on the same street and sit in the hidden park to eat. As is true for many travelers who are tired of dropping 50 Euros on every meal I was very happy to stop in here and spend less than 10 for a great Fallafel sandwich which was quite a meal (perhaps two). Perfect for a walk about the Jewish Quarter and I'd suggest popping into the nearby Kosher bakeries and sweet shops for a bit of cake or dessert. read more

The most amazing falafel ever. This is mostly because they include roasted eggplant in the falafel without having to ask for it (they understand what I like). I still prefer the spicy sauce at Holy Land in Berkeley, CA to the two types of sauces they offer at the table, but the sandwich is my favorite by far. read more

we came by here on saturday, but since they observe the sabbath, it was closed. we were going to get falafels down the block (there are a ton of falafel places on this street), but we figured we would try this one since lenny kravitz likes it. if it's good enuf for lenny, it's good enuf for me. we braved the line on sunday, and yes, it was long, but it goes by fast. guys go around w/ tickets taking your order and $ while you are in line, so once you get to the front, you just give them your ticket, and they prepare the falafel sandwich for you. the best part of the way they prep it is that they layer it nicely so that they put some falafels down, then some condiments, then more falafel balls, more condiments, etc. that way, you don't eat all your condiments first and then are stuck w/ falafel balls on the bottom. i told the guy to layer on the hot sauce, but i found the sauce more salty than spicy. the falafel was good, but was it the best i've ever had? it's hard to say. i think i'll try chez hanna next time to compare. read more

Jean and I scored the most charming loft in the middle of the Marais neighborhood so we could have somewhat of an authentic Paris experience when we weren't being tourists. Walking the cobblestone streets of this adorable and maybe a tad gentrified neighborhood, we ran into L'As du Fallafel in the heart of the Jewish quarter. I remembered it from an impossibly long list of recommendations that had been thrown at me from anyone and everyone who found out I was going to be visiting Paris. It was very late, we were very hungry, this place was very packed and the guy outside was very persistent that the 2 American girls come in and eat his food. We proceeded to enjoy one of the best falafel sandwiches I have ever put in my mouth. It was also one of the biggest and messiest sandwiches I have ever seen and as I sat there with sauce and hummus dripping down my mouth all I could do was marvel at the food, the culture and all that was left to explore of the city. read more

We came here at 9 on a Sunday night and as warned by all the yelpers, there was a line out the door. We took it to go and when we ate it back at our place, it was just as good as expected! The fries were perfectly crispy. There's a person outside who takes your order and money and you provide the receipt to the window. Do not be discouraged by the line! It is well worth it and you will not have to wait too long. The falafel sandwich is huge and reasonably priced for the quantity. The falafel balls are extremely tasty and crunchy and the accompanying veggies are fresh and of quality as well. As for the premises, they offer a mix of vintage décor with black and white pictures, old looking tables and chairs, all of it wrapping up a warm and friendly atmosphere, the place being always busy and thriving. Should the restaurant run out of space though, do not worry! You are in the beautiful Jewish neighborhood "le Marais" and there are plenty of nice places to sit around. read more

This is the best falafel I have ever had in my entire life. The falafels are better than the schwarmas in my opinion. The little fried crunchy falafel balls in fluffy pita bread and lettuce and tons of other goodness was such a pleasant surprise. Best falafel I've ever had! Also one of the most filling, delicious and cheap meals available in Paris! It was sooo good. Multiple pieces of falafel, pickled cabbage/salad, tahini, eggplant overstuffed in a pita. The red chili sauce was awesome! I wish the falafel in the US tasted so good. I headed to the back when a guy approached me saying something in french that I didn't understand. I thought that he was trying to sell me something...turns out he works at L'As du Fallafel and wanted to take my order and money in exchange for a ticket for my food (this is the way it's done ladies and gents). This place is great and even with a wait it is well worth it. Also I think it is a little cheaper if u eat take away as opposed to eating in. When I was in Paris I went here 3 times in one day.
