I visited Elliott Jewelers many times for work on my jewelry prior to the time the current owner,…read moreDoug, took over the business. I can't say enough good things about the elder Mr Elliott who is now retired. Once Doug became the owner, I continued to bring jewelry in for repair and bought four bracelets and three pair of earrings in about a two year span of time. Overall, I was satisfied. However, I then had to have several of my rings sized, and when I picked up the rings, the gold band was made so thin, the rings are no longer strong enough for daily wear. That highly annoyed me, and I should have complained, but I never want to cause a problem, so I just planned on taking them somewhere else at a later date for repair. The final straw was when my husband's wedding ring lost a diamond and the band had bent out of shape slightly over time. Doug charged us $369 for a tiny diamond that we later found out from another jeweler was a $25 stone. Ouch! What a rip off! In addition, Doug left the gold so thin, after my husband wore his ring ONCE the thin gold twisted completely out of shape and is completely unwearable. In addition, we had paid extra for some etching to be done that was originally on the ring but had worn off. He didn't put any etching on the ring even though we paid for it. So basically we paid him close to $400 to repair and resize a ring and are left with a piece of junk gold that can't be worn or used for anything. I'm extremely upset about all of that, not to mention the sentimental value of my husband's wedding ring which he can no longer wear, 30 years into our marriage. I would give the Elliott's a chance to fit it and make it right, but my husband is so upset he doesn't want to contact them. If they cared even a tiny bit, they never would have done such a horrendous job on the ring in the first place. My advice is to go ANYWHERE else.

I used Olde World to redesign the setting of my engagement ring. After wearing it for almost 25…read moreyears, I wanted to change the 1ct oval diamond from a traditional platinum four-prong cathedral setting to a modern bezel. They did an amazing job! I wasn't sure how it was going to come together. They had me come back to see the platinum bezel piece and I approved the work and I had an idea of the cost. When I went to pick it up, I was so wowed that I cussed...a few times haha sorry guys! The bezel fit the diamond and head of the ring perfectly. The designer made curved cutouts on the sides so the light shines through. The diamond is secure and sits lower, exactly what I wanted. Thank you so much!

I had a very disappointing experience with this jewelry store…read more I went in to purchase a 2.75mm gold rope necklace. I asked to see the pricing, and while I found the item in the catalog, I was told the catalog prices were outdated. The salesperson later returned with a quote of more than $6,000. The price immediately seemed much higher than the current market, but I paid a $3,500 deposit to place the order. After leaving the store, I called another reputable jeweler and was quoted a significantly lower price for the same type of necklace. I immediately contacted this store to cancel the order and explained that the price was substantially above market value. What bothered me most was their response. Instead of addressing why their price was so much higher, I received multiple text messages suggesting that if the necklace was "out of my budget," I should let them know because the owner might be able to offer a discount. That response was both insulting and dismissive. Budget was never the issue--I had already demonstrated that by putting down a $3,500 deposit. My concern was the apparent overpricing of the necklace compared to other reputable jewelers. Rather than acknowledging my concern or explaining the pricing difference, they chose to imply I simply couldn't afford it. I also want to note another aspect of my experience. I am a Black woman. After my interaction, my white husband contacted the store to discuss the same issue. Based on our experience, he was treated very differently. His concerns were received in a more respectful and accommodating manner than mine were. While I can't speak to the store's intent, the contrast in how we were treated was significant and left me questioning whether I was afforded the same level of respect and customer service. As a customer, I expect transparency, professionalism, and respect. If there is a legitimate reason for a higher price, explain it. Don't assume a customer can't afford a purchase when they've already committed thousands of dollars toward it, and ensure every customer receives the same level of courtesy and professionalism. I encourage anyone shopping here to compare prices with other jewelers before making a purchase. Doing so saved me thousands of dollars.
