I got the floating island and the meringue just melted away in my mouth with the vanilla custard sauce and caramelly drizzle. I will forever be dreaming about this dessert as no dessert in the US will ever compare. Everything from start to finish was phenomenal. As in all other French restaurants, you get started with a basket of baguette pieces, and we ordered a Bordeaux red wine for our meal as well. For dinner, I chose one of the rotating daily specials, the red mullet served over mashed potatoes, along with pieces of zucchini, carrot, and tomato. The mashed potatoes were nice and creamy and the fish was good as well, though the dish disappointingly only came with three piddly pieces of mullet. We also had the beef grilled rump steak with a poivre (black pepper) bearnaise sauce. The rump steak, a tougher cut of meat, was cooked nicely, and while the sauce was absolutely delicious (especially with bread), the green beans on the side were limp/overcooked, and the thick-cut fries though crispy were served cold. I can't say I was particularly impressed by the execution of the food, at least on my visit, but the atmosphere and service did make for a nice experience!

Chef owned by Alain Pramil, he is present and accounted for during your entire meal. He never touches a pan in the kitchen. Chef Pramil greets you seats you, and engages you. He's a nice guy, and accommodated me when I refused to dine in the back room. Pramil is touted as a small, intimate restaurant. It isn't small or intimate in reality. There are two dining rooms, one up front, one in the back, divided by a service station and the bathroom. Pramil's space is long, narrow and very odd. Food is classic and very good. My Foie Gras de Canard appetizer was silky smooth and quite delicious. As a main, the onglet de veau did not have a refined presentation, but it tasted good. Tagliatelle with truffles was a healthy portion, but while I found it savory, my spouse found it bland. Desserts were good. I splurged on a bottle of Condrieu my preferred white. This 2016 Invitare by Chapoutier, lacked depth and that hint of apricot I love so much. Yet, it has high ratings by people who know more than me. Thus, I may have needed an older vintage. Our set menu of appetizer, entree, and dessert, without the wine, was a prescribed price of 33 Euros per person. Thus, one can dine very reasonably at Pramil. Our lack of enthusiasm may come from all the amazing meals we experienced in Paris by creative and innovative chefs. Unfortunately, I am spoiled, so accept my review within this context.

The salad with shrimp was gross and only came with 4 pieces of shrimp. Asparagus soup, gave a chance. Nope. My main course was the Scallops + Morell mushroom pasta, it was just ok. A bit overly seasoned, the mushrooms were fine. But the scallops tasted a bit over cooked. Ended the meal with chocolate ice cream and passion fruit. The staff wasn't overly welcoming but there were a few times where i was left parched. The setting arrangements were a bit awkward too.
