White wine, escargot. The more you eat, more you glow! Quite nice patio. Le Pavillon is a fun spot to grab a quick bite and drink. It was our first time eating escargot in Paris and we admitted that to our waiter -- who offered to walk us through the process (you just... eat it) before bringing us more baguette to absorb the leftover garlic/pesto sauce the snails were doused in. Came here while I was in Paris, The first day we arrived we were really hungry after a long flight! We got the steak well done and mashed potatoes. Most juciest, well done soft and easy to cut steak ever. It was so amazing!! The sauce is SO GOOD! The service was great! We were attended by a lady in the Morning and she was very kind! We came today for the third time, and the service was a little slower due to the fact that it is a little packed for lunch time but it's expected. Mozzarella sticks.. drinks.. steak! This is a good spot! Started with an Appetizer being mozzarella sticks.. they were amazing! & we had a couple cocktails that were really good as well. The place is your typical French dinner restaurant but I also feel like it's lively. The service was great and servers were very nice! We just stepped into the place and loved the look of it. To start we had the french onion soup. It. Was. Amazing. Very well filled soup with a top of bread and cheese. For the main dish we had the sirloin and tuna. Also two amazing dishes. The tuna was served with fresh vegetables. For the steak we had the French fries, but other sides are available. With our food we both had a huge glass of wine of great quality. They serve big glasses during happy hour for a nice price. Perfect to go with meat or fish. Dessert was soooo good! We had the profiteroles (you should really try these!) And the chocolate mousse, also amazing. All of the dishes above combined with a great waitress and great prices, comes down to a perfect rating. I think this place was good! If you're understanding of the French pacing for dining. If you hold it by American standards, you might get peeved. Okay, so like most little restaurants and bistros, they have extensive seating outside for all the cool, hip, French kids (I'm joking but I'm not...most of the patrons I saw here were in their twenties). This means walking through a wall of cigarette smoke to get to the front door; the smoke doesn't quit there either, since they sometimes propped the door open and it was easy for the smell to waft inside. There were two people working when we arrived around 8-ish PM, one server and one bartender. Although she seemed unsmiling and busy at first, the server was actually quite nice and distractedly motioned us to some seats while she switched out our menus for English ones. One server for a restaurant that was 2/3 full seems like a bad idea, but generally nobody was in a rush, so it was fine by those expectations. On the menu, they have a nice combo of an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert for 24 €. This was the first time I ever ordered something without fully comprehending what it was, and I'm so happy I did. The pot de rilette was wonderful! It tasted like pulled pork, but cold and pressed in a little disc. They served it with pieces of baguette. Next, I had the salmon with fries and my husband had the roast chicken with potatoes au gratin. No complaints. Everything tasted fresh. The salmon flavoring was subtle, which I appreciated since other places try to overpower the salmon taste rather than work with it. The fries were more like the chips you get with English fish & chips, and were perfect. My husband is a big fan of sauces (he drinks marinara like a milkshake if given the chance) and said that the sauce that came with the chicken worked really well with both the chicken and the potatoes. I'm not ashamed to say that I envied his potatoes; I think I had more of his than mine. They were thinly sliced and not too heavy with the cream. Evidently, this place does a good chocolate mousse, of which I'm not a huge fan but my husband had done his research so I let him order. It's served in a little jar and was really good. Again, I might have hogged this a little. Not too sweet but deeply chocolate (that phrase sounds stupid, I know, but I can't think of another way to describe it), you won't regret ordering it. Service was slow to get going but quick enough to respond if you politely signaled to her. There was no instant refilling of our waters, but everybody was friendly enough. The ambiance inside is low key, with plush chairs and dim lighting. For our second time there, we came a bit later than before, so there were fewer patrons inside and a noisier crowd outside. They had propped the door open so the smoke was a bit more bothersome. Still, the sirloin steak was good (I highly recommend the sauce that comes with that) and the service still friendly. I ordered the Gin Fizz this time, which was dangerously good--very tasty and you couldn't tell there was alcohol in it. We found this place on a whim while walking by and we are happy we decided to check it out! Food was great and drinks were tasty. I had the chicken and noodle wok dish with vegetables and it was delicious! The owner, Arthur, was the gentleman who waited on us. He was very personable and took the time to talk to us and ask us where we were from (Boston, Massachusetts, USA.) He also gave us some suggestions for food and drinks while in a certain part of a Paris, which was greatly appreciated. I would recommend Le Pavillon to anyone looking for a great meal in Paris. We had a terrible server here. We would order all of the meal, and she came out with only half. I ordered the rest again, and yet again she did not get the full meal. Finally, when the whole meal came out, we had no silverware and napkins. There were no servers outside for us to ask, and I had to watch as my meal I'd been waiting for got cold. The food was so-so, and the bruschetta is more of a undercooked garlic bread with cheese and cucumbers. Not great service, and not great food.
