Came here looking for a rain/wind breaker and rain pants for a trip. Since I had no idea what i needed, I planned on spending some time here on a Saturday... but the moment I walked in the door the amazing staff was there to help me out. This one lady in particular spent so much time with me..she took me through the different options for rain coats that would fit my needs. Finally settling on the mountain classic anorak.. love that there is a wide front pocket and a drawstring hood. Next she took me over to the pant section, where she recommended the comfort trail pants. Once I tried these on I fell in love, super comfy and easy to move around in. I was surprised at how thin but protective they are. I also purchased a primaloft packaway vest, perfect to keep my core warm but still able to move. I love L.L. Bean and probably always will. It's nice to be able to reserve an item at the store by going online to the website. I was able to get the day pack I've been waiting to get. I've never been in the store when it's been busy. It's always quiet and relaxed when I've been here, which I personally prefer (but secretly wonder how they manage to stay open). I have been pleased with my purchase. I've used it several times now, and can't wait to take it as my personal item on my next overseas flight. In the past, my husband has shopped here for Christmas gifts for me. I love their slippers, and they are always great with returning items. I'm glad we have a location locally in the region, because it makes for easy shopping options any time of the year. read more

This is the one and only LL Bean store I have been to. It is in the same parking lot as Eastview mall- pro tip- there is a parking lot and separate entrance in the back. It's stocked well and you can check online to see what they have in store. It is organized. There is a decent clearance section and they run regular sales. Unfortunately several times I have been here it has been understaffed- really long lines at the register and not enough associates in the shoe department. I've especially noticed during sales- which they promote so it should be staffed properly. It's a minor issue but don't expect to get in and out on a busy weekend. For this reason I tend to favor online shopping and typically only come to the store for returns. read more

LL Bean is of course known for their catalog order service but having the near-by store is great. The Store is clean and staff is always knowledgeable, friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. The selection in the catalog is larger but the store has a nice array of Men's, Women's, Kids and even Pet items. Women's plus sizes are available generally in catalog only. Purchasing items through catalog is convenient and being able to return to store if needed is wonderful. Their waterproof mats are great, a little pricey but excellent quality. My husband loves their sunglasses and we both own LL Bean winter boots. LL Bean stands behind their products with Lifetime guarantee and they honor it. read more

I once heard someone say, "buy the best, cry once." There is something special about a company that serves customers by making quality products that last and that's why I like L.L. Bean. This stand alone store is impressive in size and boasts a large selection of inventory. I was on a specific hunt for some fleece sweaters, but could've spent a whole morning here checking out cool gear. The staff seemed a little distracted as several employees walked by without acknowledging us or asking if they could help find something. I was able to flag someone down and she was very helpful in finding what I was looking for. Overall a nice experience and great products at fair prices - I will be back! read more

I love this place! The staff are always super friendly and the quality of merchandise, although a little pricey, is amazingly good. The layout of the store is perfect with men's on one side and women's on the other. The change rooms are convenient and the stock is always in good shape. Seriously the worst. I bought a pair of duck boots last year in November. I was so excited to have them for the winter. However when I started wearing them the leather began to smell like cat urine. When I called to see if other people had this problem or if there was something that could be done the people from this store told me there was nothing that could be done because I was "wearing them wrong". I was supposed to have these special socks and blah blah blah so they couldn't help me. Will never ever go to this store or buy from LLBean ever again. So happy that Rochester has not only a real Eddie Bauer store but also an LL Bean store... Why can't Buffalo get on that train!? Visited here in February and though I know this is considered an outlet store to some degree there were very few outlet priced items. Was a little disappointed. But I tried on a bunch of clothes to verify my sizes and then went home and ordered those same clothes with a free-shipping and 20% off online orders coupon. The jeans I got were featured in O Magazine and truly are great! But that 20% off saved me about $20 on my order which I wouldn't have gotten in-store. Everything fit just as nicely as it did in-store. Cool store, a little bit deceiving, but I can appreciate that this exists within driving distance of my domicile! read more

The mecca of the best outdoor gear, LLBean finally bought a store to the residents of Western New York! LLBean makes Eastview an even bigger destination mall as the next closest store is 200+ miles away in Albany. The iconic big boot statue sits outside the store with a "no climbing" sign (yeah right!) attached. With a ton of canoes outside, it was a bit deceiving as there were not many/if any for sale inside the store. Some of their clothing can be quite expensive, but there are a lot of smaller camping/outdoor items that are a cool. One of the best things they have is their shoe department. A wide selection of boots, shoes, and the best is the slippers. There are some things that I don't mind for paying more for a better product, and a comfortable shoe is one of them! If they don't have it in-store, you can order it from their website in the store with no shipping charges either! One of their best advantages of shopping at L.L.Bean is the "guaranteed to last" return policy. If a product at any point you own it doesn't meet your 100% satisfaction, return it, anytime. Wow! Definitely won't buy a $140 rain jacket here, but if you look, some good deals/bargains exist! read more

In love with this store. It is gorgeous! Huge selection of all the great things you'd find in the catalog or online. They even have a embroidery shop to have your items monogrammed. They often classes and events intermittently and the staff is super helpful and friendly. I think there is something for everyone here, even if you aren't an outdoor enthusiast. Yes the prices aren't super cheap, but you are getting quality things, and theres always the sale section! read more

I have always enjoyed shopping here but this review in particular is for a store manager whose name I believe is Evelyn that I saw today, who deserves a kind word and a 5 star review. She was dealing with a rude customer that was being incredibly disrespectful and aggressive towards her about a jacket return. She was polite but firm and patiently tried to explain things to this man. No one deserves to be treated like that, and I almost stepped in to say something to him when I was there, and regret that I didn't. I think she deserves some sort of compensation for having to deal with this guy, a vacation day, a bonus, a nomination for sainthood, etc. I also hope that this incident gets reported to HR and that the store decides to ban this customer to shield their employees from his future harassment. read more

He was able to get me the sizes I needed, give me a little advice on sizing and even checked sizing online to see if it was available. Yesterday was my first experience ever visiting an L.L. Bean store (never lived anywhere that had one until now) and I was very impressed. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a staff member, who asked what I needed, and he gave me directions to the part of the store I needed to go to. As I was walking back there, he had contacted another employee in that department to get her know I was coming and what I was looking for, so she was waiting for me and ready to help me. Shortly after that, the original staff member came over to check in us, and they both gave me great recommendations on the warm hiking socks I was there to purchase. They were so helpful! When I got to the register, I was helped by another friendly employee who, upon finding out I was new to the area, gave me a brochure of outdoor sporting events to check out. Overall, I felt so welcome and felt the customer service at this store was off the charts. I definitely plan to make this my go to store for outdoor adventure needs. read more
