We were told about the robes available to use so that was nice. I've never had a maternity massage so I can't compare it but it was nice. Took a little trial and error to get comfortable. They offer a bolster to allow you to lie on your stomach. I think perhaps it's better suited for someone not so far along, or just with different anatomy. The hole for my stomach did not feel deep enough and I felt pressure on my belly which was uncomfortable. My masseuse was gracious to work with me to get comfortable on my side and had a bolster to lie on my back as well. The "scalp treatment" was pretty basic and left much to be desired. I think they put peppermint oil on their fingers and then push your hair around your head. It absolutely was not worth the time or price we paid. I kept my opinions to myself as I tend to be a tougher critic than my husband but as we left he mentioned his thoughts on the "scalp treatment"- his words were I could have done without that- the hair dresser does a better job- I agree. We usually go to Panacea Spa but they were booked so a friend suggested Woodhouse Spa. It's really difficult to compare the two as Panacea is a true luxury experience albeit with a price tag to match. With our scalp add ons we paid almost the same as we would have at Panacea and by no means was it a paralleled experience. During the pandemic, they canceled everyone's membership so they could get out of giving their members a free annual service. I had to renew my membership and no longer received many of the perks that came with the initial sign-up. Before the pandemic, I started to notice a lot of turnovers among their staff. When I went to get my lips done for a second time, it was with a new staff member. I told them I wanted what I had before, but she did something different, and the results were awful, but again, I did not complain. In the past few years, they have become extremely pushy about upselling, trying to get you to add extra services, and to purchase their expensive products. In May I purchased one of their skincare products for about $125. As I started using it, the pump would work sometimes and other times it would not work at all. I returned with the product during the first few days of June. I asked if I could swap it for one that worked. I was not asking for anything for free and the product I was returning was full, barely used. I was made to sit there for nearly 30 minutes while "management" decided they would not replace the product. I was livid and humiliated. The product never did work for me and it's packaging does not allow for me to get it out any other way so I'm out $125. After thinking about it, I canceled my membership and asked that my June membership fee be returned. They refused. I was then charged a membership fee for July. I contacted again and asked for my money back. They said they had a 30-day cancelation policy, and I would need to use the $200 toward a service by the end of July. I was forced to go back in and get a service I did not want to avoid losing my money. I'm sure there are plenty of other places better than Juvly, and I will be taking my business elsewhere. I highly recommend you do the same. I want to go somewhere my business is appreciated. Juvly would rather lose a loyal customer than replace a defective product.
