Situated in NDG, on summerled street, this breakfast restaurant is very cozy. I grew up in this part of NDG so I might be a little bit biased for this review. I had their 2 eggs with sausages and pancakes. Easy over eggs, always my go to way of eating eggs at breakfast restaurants. I like my eggs runny. The sausages were good, a bit salty, a bit greasy, all part of a good balanced breakfast. The pancakes I had no complaints about. They have many drinks, smoothies to choose from. A bit pricy but pretty good. I had their chocolate milk. Very friendly staff for early morning. You can tell they are morning people there. Overall good breakfast, brunch place. Food was good, good ambiance, quiet cozy area.

It opened in May 2016 and just celebrated its one year anniversary. Loveliest couple in the world run the place. Service is terrific, food is comforting and consistently good. I hope the neighbourhood embraces this very pretty and quite trendy spot. I go at least once a week and I'm always happy :-)

Oh what a nice little breakfast place. My husband and I woke up in a pretty Saturday morning and decided to Bixi bike to have brunch. The restaurant was very pleasant and had outdoor seating. I order Lava Azza coffee, which I love. They offer smoothies and smoothies topped with a waffle! Yikes! I have to be wheat free so I was ecstatic when I saw they offered a gluten free breakfast egg grilles cheese. All you have to say is grilled cheese and I'm there! My husband ordered this bacon sausage breakfast sandwich thing with potatoes. The service was good for us. My husband's sandwich was creamy and tasty! I found my breakfast egg grilled cheese tasty, but to be something I can definitely throw together at home. And I expect a grilled cheese to be cheesy and gooey. Those are the best! This one was was definitely lacking in that category. The potatoes are awesome though! Loved them! Overall I enjoyed the whole experience. If we go back, I'd order something different.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

We went here during the week right when they opened so no line but based on other reviews, this place gets busy and does not take reservations so be aware. Service was great, space was open, light and welcoming and the food, my god the food!! Im a lover of all things fungi so when I saw mushroom toast on the menu, I couldn't consider anything else. The portions were huge and the mushroom toast was one of the best brunch meals I've had in a long time. A variety of mushrooms along with delicious whipped feta , this meal was the perfect way to kick off our visit to Montreal! They also have a lovely array of coffee drinks as well.

The chimichurri mayo , apple slaw, and super crispy chicken were utter perfection. Seriously, you have to try this place no matter the wait. Also had the ricotta pancakes - light airy and fluffy with an addicting brown butter syrup. The lemon cream was a perfect light compliment. Also one of the best pancake dishes I've ever had. Lastly the extras... chai tea latte, fresh OJ, and even the chocolate chip cookie (which has candied pecans inside!) were top notch. Not saying I would fly to Montreal just to eat here, but I would fly to Montreal just to eat here.
