This street was so quiet on a Sunday morning, I just happened to look it up on yelp and when we found it, it was packed inside! The menu and options for egg dishes and bacon etc is UNBELIEVABLE! I'm only sorry I didn't take a photo of the menu but got so distracted by the options available! I forget the name but I got a something "joe" breakfast.. needless to say whatever you get, it will be delicious! Everything is photo worthy and the staff keep coming over and topping up the coffee! I got an English breakfast tea (red rose) .. would love to go again next time we visit Montreal

The choice on the menu is crazy! I can't believe how many grilled cheese choices there can be, eggs Benedict, waffles, omelettes, crepes, poutines, Mac & cheeses and combo plates. With all that choice it's hard to decide on one. I had a duck confit Mac & cheese with a sunny side up egg on top. Wow! Perfect amount of cheese, noodles weren't soggy and the green onion slices on top gave a fresh taste with every bite. And the duck was very decadent. At 18.50 it was worth it. All the names on the menu are very funny. My late was called "les nouveaux riches de Napierville" highly recommend. The coffee on the other hand is bland. But most breakfast joints serve Café Brossard. If they upgraded the coffee it would be 5 star.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

The restaurant didn't provide a high chair for our baby, which was a bit disappointing. The service was good with our waitress checking with us to order and being prompt and attentive. Here is what we ordered: Grilled Cheese O+G (8/10) - the bread with the grilled cheese and caramelized onions were cooked well. The homemade ketchup had a sweet taste to it and was brought out a little colder than room temperature. I probably would have preferred the ketchup/tomato sauce to be a bit warmer. The Chicken Melt (8/10) - this sandwich was pretty big. It had grilled chicken in a creamy sauce, some Cole slaw (actually a lot of Cole slaw) and some dill pickles. The sandwich was a bit messy to eat and I think it had a little too much Cole slaw, but it was a good sandwich, nonetheless. Overall, I good experience with a few suggestions in my review that I think would have made it really great.

We went here during the week right when they opened so no line but based on other reviews, this place gets busy and does not take reservations so be aware. Service was great, space was open, light and welcoming and the food, my god the food!! Im a lover of all things fungi so when I saw mushroom toast on the menu, I couldn't consider anything else. The portions were huge and the mushroom toast was one of the best brunch meals I've had in a long time. A variety of mushrooms along with delicious whipped feta , this meal was the perfect way to kick off our visit to Montreal! They also have a lovely array of coffee drinks as well.

The chimichurri mayo , apple slaw, and super crispy chicken were utter perfection. Seriously, you have to try this place no matter the wait. Also had the ricotta pancakes - light airy and fluffy with an addicting brown butter syrup. The lemon cream was a perfect light compliment. Also one of the best pancake dishes I've ever had. Lastly the extras... chai tea latte, fresh OJ, and even the chocolate chip cookie (which has candied pecans inside!) were top notch. Not saying I would fly to Montreal just to eat here, but I would fly to Montreal just to eat here.
