This was our best meal in Paris and also very reasonable. We got their price fix meal that includes a starter, an entree and dessert for a reasonable price of 38 euros. My partner and myself shared the foie gras terrine and six oysters as an appetizer. The terrine was so good and so was the fig jam they serve with it. The oysters were also amazing and tasted really fresh and had the nice briny flavor. We were in a duck mood so for entrees we ordered confit duck leg and the duck breast with cherry sauce and shared them. Both dishes came with pan fried garlic potatoes ( which were honestly the best potato's I ever had. They were crispy and had so much garlic flavor and chunks of crispy garlic. They also came with a nice salad. The duck leg confit was perfect with nice crispy skins. The duck breast was cooked perfectly with the right amount of pink and the cherry sauce was out of the world. We got floating island and iced vodka with lemon sherbet for dessert and they were amazing too. Especially the vodka dish. It was nice to let the sherbet melt a little and then it tasted like a vodka slushie. We also had an amazing rose wine that was very reasonably priced. I think we were the only non-regulars in the small cafe, if I lived in Paris I would be a regular too. The service was good and they had an awesome restaurant dog which added to the rustic vibe. Every Bite was a Delight ! We wandered upon this small bistro with red & white checkered table tops on a quiet street not too far from Notre Dame. A Traditional French Menu with some old time favorites. They offered a great Pre Fixe 3 course meal, appetizer, entree & dessert for only €38. We both went with the Pre Fixe So we could try more dishes. Escargot with perfectly balanced oil, garlic & parsley & plenty of bread to get every drop plus a well seasoned Country Pate. Second course, Perfectly Seared Scallops with garlic mashed potatoes & Duck Magritte a tender and juicy roasted breast sliced thinly topped with a delicious cherry sauce that complimented the duck served with roasted garlic potatoes. We cleaned our plates! Even though we were so full we had to taste the desserts. A Thin folded crepe with vanilla ice cream drenched in a citron grand marnier sauce and an enormous serving of 3 Fresh Profiteroles stuffed with vanilla ice cream topped with warm chocolate and loads of whip cream. Edwin our server and now one of our friends also suggested excellent red & white wines to pair with our meals. We had a lively conversation with a local couple that eats there twice a week. I was initially hesitant on the 15€ 3-course menu option, but I was pleasantly surprised! We stopped by for dinner on 2 separate occasions. Despite the low cost, the amount and quality of food was generous. My suggestion is getting the duck confit main plate, and the shrimp avocado starter. *Also get a bottle of wine too, very affordable. Service was good, Euro dining is way more relaxed vs. the American standard. It may seem slow, but they do not want rush you out (enjoy time here even if there is a line of people waiting for a table). If you are in this busy area, this place seemed much more authentic compared to others in the immediate area. read more

If you're on a budget... this area is FILLED with restaurants advertising cheap menus. Don't bother looking around, just go here. We tried several others and this one is hands down THE BEST cheap eats place in Paris. For 10€ our meal consisted of starter, main and dessert. Plus they give you a free glass of Kir as soon as you sit down! Major win. We ordered: starters- smoked salmon salad 3.5* salad with lardon (bacon) 3* foie gras pate with toast 5**** AMAZING fried squid and spring roll 3 [skip this] main- moules frites 4* raclette (w/ different meats and potato) 5* steak au poivre 3.5-4* [steak and fries were good, the sauce was just ok] dessert- nutella crepe 4* each person can choose their own options but we apparently love nutella crepe... go figure. This place is great for the price. It is a good deal for a three course menu. However, the food was okay I would rate it a 3 but the price is good so I have to add an additional star. You can either pick from two 3 course menus, at different price points. One is 9.70 and the other is 14.70. The options are different in each menu. I ordered from the 14.70 menu and got the onion soup, the steak & frites and the creme brûlée. I was full at the end of my meal. I would recommend to ask for less cheese because mine had too much and I couldn't fully enjoy the broth. read more

Service was relatively fast but the quality of the food was just meh. The starter was a salad that was pretty fresh. Next was the Boeuf Bourguignon, which was average at the best. The dessert was probably the worst I've had at a restaurant... the mouse au chocolat had a cakey texture that was not appealing. The creme brûlée was overdone and tasted like cooked eggs. Don't come here if you don't want bad service, slow service, lied to, sold out food items and hidden charges. They hustle people to come into their restaurant and keep you there for over an hour. By the time you get your food, they claimed they are sold out and don't have it. I really wanted to like this place but the service sucked! The good thing about this place is the Cheap $10 pre fix meals. We asked the server what's good for dessert and he said creme brûlée. Beware: it's $1 extra for creme brûlée and that you will NEVER receive. It didn't state on the menu of the extra dollar. The mussels and escargot were good. It took forever to get our main entrees. The saumon pasta was very small portion. I thought it was supposed to contain a piece of salmon hence 'saumon' but it was some kind of white cod fish. Disappointed. Next, it took more than forever to get our dessert. 30 minutes later, they said they do not have creme brûlée (big time gafflled for the extra dollar) and said we had to change our dessert. Since there was a language barrier, we let them choose our dessert. We received flan. They do not accept credit cards. Cash only. I find it very fishy when I saw another table paid by credit card. They must've complained. We wanted to pay euro cash anyway. If it wasn't for the cheap price, I would rate it a lower star review. I must admit, they hustle us good and got what they wanted. I am not even sure if this is the name of this restaurant now as they seem to hide what their real name is (this name is still on the awning). Let me say that this was the worth food experience of my life. The place looked busy so we went in. We realized it was 10 to 15 euro prix fixe - seems good? No - you get worse than what you pay for. I'll make this short and sweet because I don't want to spend any more time with this place. We were there for 2 hours and only made it through the appetizer and main course. We had to leave as we felt like hostages in there and they kept telling us our desserts would arrive. The food was cheap and disgusting. The service was cheap and disgusting. Had a nice dinner here on our last night in Paris. We were walking back from Luxembourg Gardens and were winding our way through the Latin Quarter streets, looking at menus as we went. We got the last table for 4 (shortly before 7pm) and the place was constantly full, with people waiting outside, the rest of our stay. They had 3 different menus for 10/16/24 Euro, each with a starter + main + dessert. 3 of us had the 16 Euro menu, and all of it was tasty and good quality. Service was friendly and attentive. It wasn't a leisurely meal (ie we all had to order all 3 courses right from the start), but we weren't rushed, either. Would recommend as a dependable, good value meal. read more

For the price, this place gets a five-star rating. It was a really nice place to stop in for dinner after a long day's trek around Paris. As others have mentioned, you can get a three-course dinner for like 13 euro. The food was, actually, quite good. I had the french onion soup, which was good. As good as I make? No, but who care's? For the entree, I got the steak. It was really good for the price. The sauce was super yummy. For dessert, I got the apple tart, which was really good, as well. Overall, the whole experience was outstanding for the price. Would not think twice about coming here again when in Paris. The owner was working the place that night, too, and he was super nice. The 4.5 stars is misleading. It is 3 at best. Surrounded by some truly good french restaurants and cafe's, this is something that might fit a college student's budget and quality. Don't get me wrong, it was perfectly adequate for the price point but I would not recommend this place to my friends who are going to be visiting Paris. You get what you pay for. This is decent CHEAP eats, that's it. The server was "doing his job" but there was no energy or friendliness. Not helpful at all when asked about what is good or recommendation. The desserts were "meh" at best. If you are on a budget and need to fill your tummy, than this is the place. If you are looking for a Paris good eats, this is not. read more

I really cannot recommend this restaurant. We had a party of 6, which could not fit in the space upstairs, so we were put in the moldy smelling basement. The duck confit was fine, and I sampled a friend's duck breast, which was decent, but the accompanying pommes frites were cold and the haricots vert were nothing special. It was rainy and my buddy and I were done sightseeing for the day, so we were wandering around looking for something to eat near Notre Dame so we ended up in the Latin Quarter naturally and stumbled upon this place. Walked in and we both were seated immediately and given water and a big basket of French bread freshly sliced out front (this was endlessly refilled, as was the water--shocking in Europe). We both ordered off the 16EUR menu, with myself opting for the mussels in cream as my starter, the fondue as my main, and the nutella crepe as my dessert. The mussels were genuinely the best I've eaten in my life and I still think about them to this day, just incredible, especially with the crusty french bread to soak up the wonderful creamy broth. The portion was massive for a starter. The fondue was very tasty and also not light on the portions. It came with some various smoked meats (think deli slices) and boiled new potatoes to dip, along with that wonderful, amazing bread. Finally, there's not much to say for the crepe--it was delicious, but nothing unexpected or different, although that's more on me.
