    Food was amazing!

What a memorable and unimaginable event we had last Saturday for my parent's 50th Anniversary!!! All I can say is WOWW.... THANK YOU and THANK YOU! My family and our 70 guests had an unforgettable night. We randomly chose this place for our private event because of the location and by a friend's recommendation, when I went in to see the place and meet the manager to check on availability, I instantly fell in love with this place, the elegance, coziness, décor and lighting was beyond expectation, this place has such a vibrant atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between chic, dreamy and elegant. What a perfect setting! Arpineh, the manager is such a sweetheart, and she went above and beyond to meet our expectations, Thank you so much, you're a gem girl and you deserve a good recognition and appreciation. From the first moment I met you, I had a good feeling about the whole thing (me and my family are very selective when it comes to planning big events). Fast forward to the big day, what a smooth and accommodating experience. My parents had the time of their lives, our guests are still talking about their memorable night. FOOD was beyond amazing. From appetizers to entrées, to table setting and dinnerware and flatware, this venue exceeded all our expectations! Simply beautiful and chic. We all enjoyed the tasteful and fresh variety of hors d'oeuvres! They were all crowd-pleasers! Highly recommended! Hands down, some of the best food I've had. Shout out to the Chef, Anna and her crew, which I went and personally thanked her for the delicious yet beautiful creations, from avocado salad to salmon sashimi to name a few. I've been and I've done so many similar venues, but this one truly stands out. The attention to detail and commitment to guest service set it apart from the rest. The service was truly impeccable from start to finish, we had 3 waitresses, all amazing, gracious and accommodating, ensuring every aspect of our guest's experience was perfect. Kudos to the entire team and to the manager, ARPINEH, you're the best girl and my family truly appreciate what you did to make our night a unique and unforgettable one and you nailed it. I was impressed by their commitment to going the extra mile. Lastly the entertainment was Top-Noch, they had 4 different entertainers/singers and a DJ, all amazing and super fun! One small recommendation is to have power outlets at the end sides of the hall, as we had projectors for slides we made out of their old pictures but lacking power outlets so the manager, Arpineh had to run an extension cord all the way to the end of the hall for our projector. Just a friendly suggestion to the building owner or facility management to add those small touches. I can't thank them all enough for their fantastic service!!! God bless

The event table wow very classy the caviar with the salmon was to die for

Echoing what everyone else has been saying - the service is SO slow. It was about 45 minutes before we were able to order our second drink and our water glasses were empty. They have so many runners bringing the drinks out but only a few servers and, from the looks of it, one bartender (on a Saturday night - what?!). The server was saying he was trying to find a manager to help out but they were nowhere to be found. Clearly management is fine with these service times since they're still making $$$. The drinks were delicious, and I loved that there were heaters on the patio (though they did get very hot at times). Our server was so kind and brought us a celebratory drink. I do wish there were more explanations with the beverages, especially for the Paid Vacation as most people will not realize you're supposed to bite into the buzz button for the tingly sensation. I would come back, but need some time for my wallet to recover first, haha!

The only downer was the incredibly rude hostess. She spoke rudely to us upon arrival. And even more rudely upon our departure. She rudely chastised us saying that we weren't supposed to leave through the same door we entered the dining room through. We were amazed at her rudeness. She appeared to dislike her job. She would be the only reason we wouldn't come back. My wife and I spent a hundred and twenty five dollars there. Well worth the spend, even though she almost wrecked it. The drinks are amazing! You don't have to wonder if they put alcohol in them lol! Bravo!

At first sight, the place is decorated like a shipwreck-turned-tropical-turnto. Very nice. That's about as high a praise as I'll go. The drinks were average as Southern California tiki goes. The grog was not made with a grog mix. The rum barrel was tasty enough - though served in a hurricane glass. I'm no snob, but tiki is attention to detail. What I care about most is what I didn't get: great service. Staff are friendly.. when they notice you. Hey, I'm a regular at a different tiki bar. Priority service is a tangential bonus. Staff doesn't ignore newcomers for my sake. I wish it was the same here. 3/5 stars. I want it to be great. It's just good.

With the seemingly ever-changing landscape along Brand Blvd. in downtown Glendale, this establishment has been around since 2012 (which I believe was the first and only time I came here). Primarily known for its inventive craft cocktails and a killer whiskey selection, it was a nice place to sneak away into before or after your main event... or, maybe this could be the place to spend an entire evening. Would this bar famously make an impression on me to remember to return in the future!? After a few minutes of reviewing the menu, we each placed our order at the bar, our drinks were delivered quickly while the food took mere minutes to arrive at the table. We had to approach the bar each time we ordered something, but any empty glasses and plates were collected at the table. Once we closed out our tabs, we were thanked for coming as we headed out into the night. Everything was chill and easy - thank you! PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance): I parked in the nearby original Glendale Galleria parking structure and simply walked over first to The Americana then to this place. Otherwise, there was limited parking along the main drag of Brand Blvd. and other surrounding side streets, the nearby Glendale Galleria II parking structure, The Americana parking structure that offered validation, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. There was at least one projection TV where we watched the Dodgers game while music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=SomLKsk1KVcemeOCHGOZfg ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...
