Wow I went to tiki no tonight a bar I've been going to well over a decade. The bar staff is excellent at what they do. A gentleman named J was at the door very nice polite I've knows for years. Upon walking in I was informed I needed to have my id scanned like I was about to take a flight. As a bar owner and person that's been to thousands of bars I understand the rules and requirements of checking id before entering or being served. I don't have a problem showing my id for the door person to check. On this recent night not only did I have to show my id ( which is the law) I had to give my id to door person to scan, scan really scanned. I'm 58 years old. What about me says do a deep dive on this guy's id. Pretty sure every person in the bar could guess I'm over 21, 31,41,51 and a few might guess 61. How insulting. How incredibly insulting to every regular over the age of 35. As regular customer for over a decade at least I feel like I've earned the respect and the courtesy of not having my id violated as a regular and a person that qualifies for senior discounts. I guess ownership is determined to ruin tiki no just like they did with the firefly and the powerhouse. In my humble opinion the tiki no ownership would be better served trying to create demand for new customers and not just being demanding of longtime friends and customers of tiki no. Maybe they should hire a monkey to stand out front to attract more customers. Everyone loves a monkey. Maybe the GM could do it. The one thing the only thing I now like about tiki no are the people that work there and worked there in the past. Hats for hiring well, even a blind squirrel finds a nut. Oh a regular is a person that regularly spends money at your business. If I wanted to be insulted I'd call my ex-wife. read more

Whether you've ever heard of a tiki dive bar or not, this is a solid choice. It doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. Fun decor, thematically appropriate old films on even older tv sets, an AC that works when it wants to... I was particularly wowed by the mugs they serve/sell. I collect them, and wouldn't expect Tiki No to boast such quality options. Hats off. No food, but they welcome outside eats. Bring in a whole thanksgiving turkey, they won't care. Tiki No has a surprisingly fun ambiance, especially for the area. It is definitely not something you expect to stumble across, which makes the atmosphere a nice surprise when you walk in. The drinks are okay. They lean on the sweeter side, so it is the kind of place where you might stop in for a sugary cocktail rather than something particularly memorable. Overall it is a decent place to meet up with friends for a quick snack and a drink, but it is probably not somewhere I would go out of my way to make the main destination for the night. This is hands down my favorite local tiki bar! The vibes, the drinks, and the people make it unbeatable. Their piña colada is easily the best I've ever had. Perfectly creamy, balanced, and dangerously drinkable. One sip and you're instantly on vacation. The manager Erin is an absolute gem. She's the sweetest, has the best sense of humor, and makes everyone feel welcome the moment they walk in. You can tell she genuinely cares about creating a great experience. You can get a pretty different vibe based on when you go, so at this location you can really personalize your night out. If you come when they first open you can do happy hour, however, if you're looking for a more party vibe, than coming later in the night will definitely deliver that. They have a pretty good happy hour every day. I particularly enjoy going on Saturday, right when they open, for their happy hour (6-8pm), where you can get $10 Pina Coladas and Blue Hawaiians. Every drink I've had here is also really delicious and pretty strong. Service is okay. Sometimes the waitstaff/bartenders come across as a bit cold. But honestly, it doesn't make this place any less great. read more

We stopped by to check out this local spot and had an amazing time. The bar has booths as well as two tops and standing area near the bar. There is also a nice patio with fireplace in the front of the bar. The interior is dark with plenty of themed lighting that sets a nice festive mood for a nice drink. The bartender was super friendly. Drinks are delicious, designed well and placed in festive drink-ware with flare. Bags of chips are the only food we saw on the menu but they do have a link on the table to order from a local pizza restaurant! "Tiki Hour" Sunday-Thursday 10pm-Midnight, Fridays and Saturdays 6pm-8pm. 21 and over so leave the kiddos at home. We will definitely be back! read more

My fleet and I sailed into Tiki No on a Thursday after dinner, and while it was pretty dead, it made for a really relaxed escape. Aesthetics: I loved the decor here. It definitely whisked me away into some Polynesian village. Unlike other tiki bars I've been to in LA and Vegas that can feel stuffy and cluttered, this place is spacious and airy (though still dark, as they all are), but just open and fun. There was plenty of seating, including a great bar area and lots of round booths, which is a huge win for a group. Value: The drink value here was stellar. Sixteen bucks max for a single, themed drink is a great price for this kind of spot. And for those with a crew, the shareable grog drinks are a steal at $28--definitely something your whole fleet would be happy to consume with several straws. Product Quality: I always order the Zombie to determine how good a tiki bar really is--if you get this classic wrong, you're pretty much done. I expected the drink to be a bit sweeter and thicker than it was. It wasn't bad, but I've definitely had better Zombies elsewhere. That being said, I was really happy that their drinks are poured into those great tiki-themed mugs and giant funny sculptures, which really adds to the experience. I'd absolutely be back to try their other tiki drinks. I highly recommend Tiki No. It's got a great vibe, fun presentation, and good value! read more

Tiki No is a no go for me. I'm I'm big into Tiki bars and this place has good ambience, but when u walk in and they are playing the Back Street Boys and not Tiki music was a huge disappointment. I ordered a pina colada and it wasn't even fresh. The bar tender said he made the mix in the machine the night before. For almost a $20 drink I expect it to be made fresh. I love this place - ok, they recently raised the prices on HH so I really like this place. Two of my biggest gripes are 1. that if you get there too early their Piña Coladas are never ready? I've had Tiki No on my list of LA tiki bars to try for a while and was finally able to make the trip. The atmosphere and ambience are quite nice. I will say, it's not the most tiki-esque, it's a bit divey, especially with the hip hop music playing, but you still get a bit of the tiki spirit. The drink menu is a bit limited, I believe it's because they pre-batch a lot of their drinks, but there are a handful of decent options to choose from anyway. Their cocktail program is fine - nothing to write home about, their garnish game is a little weak, and their rum selection is unfortunately subpar. I'm giving this place 3 stars because the first time I came here years ago with a group of friends, it was so fun. I'd been wanting to come back so it's a bummer that when I did last night, it was disappointing. Came here and ordered one of their scorpion bowls at the bar. There were 7 of us and luckily we grabbed a booth in the corner. After singing happy birthday to one of our friends, a bartender walks by our table and says "Did someone say tequila shots?" To which we all laughed and thought he was offering them to us for free so why not? Because why else is a bartender coming up to our table and asking if we want Casamigos? Well his plan worked because although half of us don't even drink tequila, he brought 7 shots and a bill for over $120. The smell alone made me sick and feeling like we just got tricked, none of us really drank them. We wanted another scorpion bowl but ended up pouring the shots into our empty one and leaving. This isn't the place where you sit down and they take your order. It's a pretty divey spot so just a bartender, maybe a manager? coming to our table and asking if we wanted a more expensive choice of tequila for 7 shots was a bold move in poor taste IMO. Until I stop feeling sick by that, I don't think we'll be returning for a while. read more

This place is so cool! Good vibes all around and fun decor to match. I love that some tables make you feel like you're in a hut and there's an outdoor fireplace that can be seen from the inside. The late night happy hour is generous, so I got myself a Blue Hawaiian for $8 and enjoyed a night with my coworkers. To our surprise, there was karaoke! I guess on Wednesday's they host it so if you go in the middle of the week, go prepared with a song to sing if you're brave! With my drink and sipping to taste the cocktails of my friends', the drinks here are tasty. They bartenders don't skimp out on the alcohol but they also don't ruin the taste of their drinks with it. Tiki YES! Service here is always top-notch: friendly, experienced bartenders. The vibe is always chill and casual, but the place is refined enough to pop by in dressy date clothes for a nightcap. There's bar or booth seating, and plenty of free/non-permit street parking in the neighbourhood. Every drink we've tried has been fresh and flavourful, crafted with care and skill (and sometimes fire). Their piña coladas are the only "on tap" cocktail, but they still taste scratch-made and delicious. While the NoHo Arts District has some nice, newer tiki bars - Kahuna, CanTiki - Tiki No remains the respected elder. read more

I went to Fan Fest and ended up leaving a little early because we had finished everything. We found this tiki joint and we were able to make it before last call. I looked up on yelp to see how the set up was and everything seemed to be on par. No reservations needed and although it said plenty of parking on the street I did have to drive around the area to find some parking. The outside is pretty cool. It's a black building with little Tiki's painted on the outside. They do have a patio with a fire pit, which I think is super awesome, and the ambience in the inside is a cool tiki vibe with little tiki hut boots. The one thing that I did find a bummer was that they had tiki booth tables, which made me think they had food however there is no food at this tiki bar. They also have a pretty small menu. This tiki bar does seem more like a dive bar and locals joint however it does have a good vibe. The music kinda threw me off because they were playing 80s dark wave but then again it was after 1 AM and I think it might've just been Dj's choice. Overall, I gave it a three because there was no food parking was a little harder for me to find and the music threw me off, but the drinks were good and if you're looking for somewhere just to have a tiki drink I would definitely go try it out. read more

We had a great time here! I stopped by on a random weekday and ordered the Zombie, while my wife had the Mai Tai. Both drinks were fantastic and had a solid amount of alcohol. After just two drinks each, we were feeling good. We went during a less busy time, so service was quick, and we had no trouble getting a table. However, if you visit on the weekend, be prepared for a bit of a battle royal just to grab a spot since it's first come, first served. The place isn't huge and gets pretty packed, so it's not uncommon to end up sharing a table with strangers. It's a great spot for hanging out with friends or a date night. We're looking forward to coming back soon to try the Scorpion, though we're a little nervous that it might get us more drunk than we can handle since we're both on the smaller side. It's been a while since this happened, I genuinely considered just leaving it due to the traumatic nature of these events, however I need to speak up as this is not a safe place for queer folk. I'd like to first state, I am a Cis Gendered Woman. On the evening of February 4th, I went to this establishment with my boyfriend and a mutual friend. My boyfriend ordered us three beers and after a few sips I went to the bathroom. The woman's room was occupied for over 15 minutes, with a line. The men's was open. I went to the men's. Allow me to include that this is 100% legal in the state of CA. I checked. As I existed to let my friend in after me, I was cornered in the hallway by a man in a t-shirt and baggy jeans, who began swearing at swearing at me. I told him to get out of my way and asked him who he thought he was. He responded that he worked for Tiki No and gave no further identification. I told him he didn't look like it, based on his attire. He grabbed me by the arm and said "I don't care what pronouns you have, we don't do that here." His nails dig into me as he drug me away, telling me, "You're too drunk, it's time to go." I had only one drink of light beer before excusing myself. His phobia was talking for him. I was 100% coherent. He did not allow me to find my boyfriend, my IDs, phone, or wallet. As we approached the back door, he ensnared his hand into my hair, pulling, so I turned around to free myself. He clawed at my face, punched me, and caused bleeding under my left eye. I have images of the aftermath. My friend saw everything. He threw me to the ground, exclaiming I had assaulted him. I'm a 110lb and 5'2 woman. He's around 300lbs and 6ft+. As my boyfriend came out after my friend told him was was going on, he attempted to help me up, only to be tackled to the ground by this large person. I'm assuming he was a doorman, based on the other 1 star reviews. This is the type of person Tiki No chooses to represent them. I did call the police, though they did not show, I received a call about 3 hours later that they did, but due to my face bleeding and the emotional trauma I suffered, I chose to leave. I truly hope Tiki No, being located in a place like North Hollywood, decides to do better for the many queer folk that come though the door, unknowing that they are in danger, albeit that I happened to be a cis woman. That being said, it's fair to say this establishment is not safe for cis women either. I can not imagine how much worse I could have been hurt had I been a person of color or identifying as trans. Please beware if you're visiting this establishment. It is unsafe. Should corporate want pictures of my injury, I will provide them. I'm not comfortable providing them on yelp as I believe blood will get them removed. Tiki No, please consider the people you have representing your establishment. Shame on you. read more

I loved my experience here! It's not often I get to go to a tiki bar, but Tiki No is up there as one of my favorites! There's a long bar with bar seats, as well as quite a few booths for larger parties. We had 6 with us and comfortably sat in one of the corner booths. We all got piña coladas as recommended by our two friends who live down the street - WOW! I usually hate piña coladas, but I loved the one at Tiki No! I was told real fruit juice and fresh ingredients are used and you can absolutely tell the difference! I was shocked that the drink was not sweet - I'd definitely get it again.
