I was catching up with a friend and we thought we'd try this place after dinner. I had never been, and I never would have known about it from driving by... very unassuming and almost hidden. The interior is dark, quirky and eccentric with lots of cool/weird decor and moody lighting. My fave! We also pointed out that the music was at a perfect volume... enough for us to hear but also to be able to have a conversation (very important to us elder millenials!) I liked how spacious the bar was, with different rooms and outdoor space. We ordered a few drinks (Paloma for me) and we both commented on how they seemed to have 0 alcohol. They both tasted completely like juice. So we tried again with another bartender and went with spirit-forward drinks, an LA Tea for him and a French 75 for me. The bartender nicely told us that he ran out of ingredients to make the LA Tea, but he would try his best to come close with Long Island Tea ingredients. It was delicious! The drinks were much better that time around. We were approached and invited to join the 11PM Cabaret show, which would be the last one for a while (hour-long show with $30 tickets). We were down for adventures, so why not! Guests were allowed to bring their drinks inside, and we were seated around a perimeter behind a yellow line as opposed to auditorium-like seating. I loved the show!! The performers were super talented dancers and actresses, and there was a little bit of ballet, a little but of tap, some horror, some surprises, and great storytelling. This is secretly the best bar in Burbank. Speakeasy vibes without being overpriced and friendly staff every day of the week (especially Evan on Whiskey Wednesdays). Fantastic selection of whiskeys/spirits, beers, absinthe's, and everything you want in a bar (besides food, but the drinks are so good and there's plenty of other food around). Free Pool, Great drinks & Cool Secret Deals This was one of the first places my roommates and I explored when we moved to the area and it is still our favorite to this day. This is an amazing find that I would recommend to anyone! They have great selection of beers (and even absinthe!) and house-made ingredients to make the best cocktails. I found out that The Other Door is turning into Risky Business and only allowing fully vaccinated people into their establishment. After finding this out and some details I thought I would bring a friend to help support. This was the very first time we've both visited and we had a great time. I enjoyed the fact of fully vaccinated people allowed into one place. The registration process is a bit confusing as I did purchase my membership card online and didn't know what else I needed to do. I did send out an email asking for more information and was returned with some helpful responses. Upon arrival we signed a waiver that declares we are fully vaccinated with proof of vaccination card and photo ID. I loved the spot as it is cute and intimate and was pretty surprised that it was jam packed! So, this place is swanky and the vibe as far as ambiance is cute. I had a real problem w/ the drinks. The drinks are not cheap, as expected but they pour half of a normal drink. My first drink was Sauv Blanc on happy hour. The glass is this short style wine glass that was half filled. My husband got the Prosecco. They poured it in the old school cocktail glass. They took the mini bottle, that's usually one serving and poured HALF of it into the cocktail glass for $16?! HALF of a small bottle that's supposed to be one serving. They then put this opened half short mini bottle back in the fridge to use for the next victim. He ordered 2 upfront and received a total of 1 mini ($5.99 bottle in the store) and a tiny bit of a second bottle. Once we ordered another, I asked Jen, wth. We figured it was just the bar manager chick as she had somewhat of an attitude at first but Jen said that's "their serving size" Wuuuuudd???? We ended up buying a bottle of cheap bubbly for $40 but if we had known that, we would have done that from the beginning. Later in the night, as things got looser, I noticed that someone else ordered prosecco but they got a real Champaign glass that was half full so it was more obvious. That person was like naw, fill it up, and the bar manager chick did. Good for that person. Anyways... We end up having a decent time because of the crowd, but would never hang there on a regular day considering the whole "serving size". No way. read more
