Pro: clean environment, worker speak English & Spanish, inside mini store for food. Con: small parking lot, certain food. This bakery is run by Hispanic personal so don't come in thinking it french based. We place an order for a cake for a party and it turn out pretty well. The parking area is small in the front but there are some parking area in the back. They do have an area in the store where you can order some tacos, tamales, pupusas, and more. While waiting for the cake we decide to get cinnamon churros and it was kind of disappointing. It was kind of bland and dry like it was sitting on the display case to long. The flavor tasted like it only had a hint cinnamon. All in all a place ok for a first time visit but I wouldn't come back again. read more

I came into this shop looking for bubble tea while I was waiting to meet up with a friend. La Baguette de Paris is a panaderia that is attached to Bubble Tea Bar Cafe. I had a taro ice blend with boba. The boba cost an extra 75 cents and pushed the price to ober $6. Boba was old and partially hard. Staff was nice. I didn't try any of the bakery items but saw quite a variety with many items under a $1. I may come back to try the dulce de leche in the future. read more

I have ordered so many cakes from here because their flavors are just unmatched!! I've made the mistake of going with a bakery who has charged me hundreds for a cake that looks... amazing but the flavor has been horrendous. You can purchase some from display but my recommendation would be to call ahead before your event so that your cake is made fresh to order. I will say though... I haven't bought the sweet bread they have on display. Only because I make my own at home. I would only recommend this place for their cakes as that's all I've ever had from here. I popped back in here today on my way home to grab a quick snack. This time, I bypassed the baguettes and went for one of the sweet breads - much better than my first experience here. I got a cinnamon sweet bread that was pretty darn good. Wish I remembered what it was called... I also got a sweet bread with a biscuit topping and a raspberry jam that was dry and altogether not thrilling. So this is still a hit or miss for me. read more

The name "La Baguette De Paris" is misleading. Although, they do sell some French breads, this is really more Central American. They have a couple croissants and they aren't good. They are super dry and hard. Their Latin sweet breads are better, but not great. They are a little on the blander side and don't keep for much longer. There are much better bakeries in the neighborhood. While it's cheap here, it's not even worth the price. Service isn't good. They always act like it's an inconvenience to assist you. This is not the french bakery you're looking for. I only walked in because I thought it was one. That said the Latin breads were great and was greeted with a smile. I have zero problems with what was served there and since I have a massive sweet tooth I got the dulce de leche pudding (which was damn huge btw) and it was solid. Not the best I ever had but it was solid considering how cheap it was. For a latino bakery shop it's solid. While the ladies there were very friendly and helpful by making sense of my terrible Spanish I can't ignore the elephant in the room. This isn't a french bakery. I wish I could give no stars but there's no option. There was two bad situation I've had with the employees and manager. The most recent was today June 19th 2022. My mother ordered a cake on June 10th to be ready for today at 8:00 am. When she arrived , she asked for the cake and they simply gave her the answer that it's not ready. She was asking why and their answer was simply that the man who makes the cakes wasn't here. She was upset and asked if she could just get a refund . They said no and that she would have to come back until 2 pm because their manager would be here at 2:00 pm. I was very upset about the situation my mom went through and came at 9 am. I spoke to the lady at the front and she told me her manager was already here. So I was even more upset about them lying saying he wouldn't be here until 2 pm. I was able to speak to the manager and he would give me excuse after excuse and I told him I understood the excuse but they didn't even bother calling my mother. She left them her phone number a week ago. Not one call. I demanded him to give her the $118.00 they gladly took when they placed the order. He was making many excuses and finally said he would give it to me. He requested the whole card information again which I was highly suspicious of. I did it regardless to be able to get my mother her money back. This "French bakery" had terrible customer service and a terrible manager. Nothing good to say about this place. read more

A bakery that I've been to for a couple of years now. The baked goods are consistently tasty. I'm a student so the price point is right for me. I love the almond and the chocolate croissants, the tres leches in a cup, as well as a number of the hispanic breads/cookies I've tried and cannot name. The sandwich bread were $1-2 for a bag and the baguette only $0.99, what else can you ask? It's not an authentic French bakery but so what, the goodies are fairly priced and quality consistent. read more

Went here the other day after eating at the Chinese Restaurant next door. Figure it would be a nice treat after dinner. First off I was totally thrown off from the moment I walked into the door. I was greeted to Hispanic music playing and a big screen TV behind the counter on some Hispanic channel. From the name outside I wasn't expecting it to be a Hispanic bakery. Anyways I was actually intrigued by wanting to try something different and the fact that prices were SUPER cheap. Some pastry were 3 for $1, cookies 2 for $1, and bread 3 for $1 (don't know how they make money). Even though the staff working behind the counter didn't speak much English, they managed to help me the best they could while still being very friendly. All in all I ended up buying couple of things, $2 worth of bread, and a cup of coffee. I had this cream custard danish that was topped with shredded coconut and it was ok. Also tried chocolate chocolate chip cookie and white Macedonian chip cookie which was good. The cup of coffee tasted the same as the one I make at home. Next time I am in the area I will have to try some other things I didn't buy. For my first time in a Hispanic cafe I had a good experience. They had a lot of different selection and prices where cheap. If I could I would have given this place a 2.5 star. Not a bad place but also nothing that really wow me. read more

This is a relatively new bakery, so check them out if you live in the area. About the name: The points made by other reviewers are correct, but I don't care that much, except that there is a subtitle on their sign explicitly saying they are French. Even so, this is just a review of the food. Nationality of staff: Hispanic. Does it matter to me? No. I don't speak French either. So ... not too much. There is a TV. Big -. But it is in Spanish, so it doesn't bother me if I wanted to work here. Big plus. At the end of the day this is a bakery, not a restaurant, and it doesn't pretend to be a restaurant even if the title is misleading in other ways, so I don't think it is too appropriate to score based on ambiance, something that matters for eat-in restaurants. Products: I can only speak properly about the cookies. (If I'm going to take in calories, they may was well be good-tasting calories. So I tend to eat a lot of cookies. It is very important for me to know where I can get them. A stomach without a cookie in it is an unhappy stomach.) Currently, this place is almost my favorite. They have six types cookies: white, normal, and double chocolate; sprinkles; peanut butter; and oatmeal raisin. The prices are extremely reasonable, and they are definitely using better ingredients than safeway and giant. I think these (other) places use hydrogenated vegetable oil, rat poison, who knows what else. I think that La Baguette is using a good-quality vegetable oil, but I didn't ask. If they are using real butter, let me know and I will change their score to a 5. (I am guessing not based on a subtle non-buttery aroma.) They have day old half-price cookies @ $2.00/6= 33 cents per cookies. As everyone knows, that's the heavenly number, and a strong sign you need to buy cookies now. Texture and mouth feel are to perfect IMO. Latino products: On the left. No idea. I didn't try them. It doesn't bother me that they are there. If you are allergic to Hispanic food, I'd avoid the bakery. I'm not. ***IMO the owner should remove all of these products due to the reviewers (besides me) whining about these.*** Other products: They have cool items like mocha/coffee cakes. Feeling sorry for the Gringos reviewing La Baguette, so let's clarify for the uninitiated of Wheaton... La Baguette de Paris is a classic panaderia, this being their second shop. The first is just off Viers Mill in Silver Spring. Here you will find some of the most excellent sweet breads I've found in the area, absolutely fantastic with a cup of coffee. 2 for $1. The tortugas (turtles) are our favorite, followed by the estrella (stars), but really anything I've had is delicious. Those looking for something more "French" may wish to sample the palmiers (elephant ears) before you expand your horizon to the pantheon of delicacies offered at La Baguette. Like some Yelpers here, I was misled by the name, but it was okay since they sell cake by the slice. My family stop by this shop after eating lunch at Ren's and I wanted something sweet after eating the salty ramen. I had the fruit cake, my husband had the mocha and my son had the chocolate cake. The word that I would use to describe my cake is that it is very juicy. I think the fruits that they used to fill the center layer icing of the cake came from a can. The cake texture was good although it got too sweet toward the end. It would have been nice if they sell espresso-based drinks. They only sell brewed coffee. I thought about giving one star because of the misleading name. For months I was looking forward to the opening of this European-style bakery, which would be something new for Wheaton. Unfortunately, La Baguette De Paris is about as French or European as El Pollo Rico. The difference is that I don't expect El Pollo Rico to offer French food. So instead of a French-style bakery, it's a Latino bakery, and most products do not have English descriptions. The bakery's namesake baguette was incredibly bad. It's a factory-made baguette with the little uniform spots on the bottom. It's dry but not particularly crispy and has no sweetness. Any supermarket baguette will be as edible as, and probably better than, this one. (Side note: the baguettes at Snyders supermarket blow them all away.) At least they got the shape right. An almond croissant was good, but I was so disappointed at the baguette and the misrepresentation that I won't return. El Sabor Latino has better products and doesn't pretend to be European. It has no baguettes, but then again, La Baguette really has no baguettes either. read more

The name will bring you in, but the products will keep you out. It seems like a French bakery and even has a tempting smell. However, the breads are not very good. The donuts and croissants are hard with a stale taste and the only good thing about the danishes are the center fillings. The staff also did not address us until we called out to them for assistance. The tres leches cake is the best I have ever tasted. It is not too sweet, extremely moist and creamy. I will go back for it again soon.
