This is my favorite bakery! The bread usually tastes fresh and without that unplesant after taste you get at other typical bakeries. This the closest or the same flavor from back home Mexico. My favorites are conchitas, puerquitos, bolillo and the stuffed bolillo with ham and cream cheese. The ladies are always nice and friendly. Yum! Affordable prices. Yummy treats. Love the cake flan and chocolate cake!! Its not overwhelmingly sweet and tastes just right. Tres leches cake was good too! We wanted to try a whole lot more of their cakes but we were so full. Would love to come back and try their breads and pastries too. I wish their staff are more attentive and personable. I was wanting to ask more of what the other cakes were but it seems like though that they were in a hurry. There are some sitting area/spaces but it wasn't the cleanest or coziest of place. It would have been great to spend a few more hours there drinking tea or coffee with their cakes/pastries. The smell of this bakery is enough for to make everyone salivate! Horrible! I've been here enough to say their pan dulce is mediocre at best; however we bought a chocoflan and when we opened it (in front of our guests) it had mold! We were given a refund but how could they sell something like that to us?!?! It was bought and returned same day. I'm not returning there again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They lack professionalism in a sense that they offered no apology. Horrible! I walked in here for a quick afternoon snack. I didn't know the names of my favorite Mexican bakery items, but the worker at the counter helped me solve all of my curiosities and then some. She recommended a few area restaurants upon request. I was very fortunate and appreciative of her assistance and patience. On top of all of this, the bakery items were pretty good, fresh, under a buck apiece, and a decent size. It was no La Chicanita in Aurora though. Overall, recommended. read more

Oh my goodness. La Baguette gets a high spot on my list of favorite bakeries! It was over 90 degrees today, and I'd promised to bring a cake to a potluck. A helpful Yelp search showed me that La Baguette was one of the few bakeries that would be open late Sunday afternoon. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the promise of "Cakes To Go" sounded better than something from a grocery chain. Walking in is almost overwhelming. A table by the door holds trays and tongs, and you can walk through a huge section of self-serve pastries and cookies. Nothing was labeled, so I don't know what anything was called, but it all looked good. There's a price list, but that only helps if you know which pastries are which. All you really need to know is that almost all of the individual-sized pastries are less than $1.00 each - why worry about details? A bank of coolers holds an amazing selection of beautiful cakes. Once again, nothing was labeled, but a helpful employee explained what was available. A Pina Colada Tres Leches cake sounded like a good prospect, so she carried it up to the counter, asked if I wanted anything written on it, and boxed it for me. The cake sat firmly enough in the box that it still looked great when I got to the potluck. (Incidentally, I think I was the only person in the place that didn't speak Spanish. The people I interacted with all spoke English, but Spanish was the default language.) The cake was fabulous. It was also a great value - $28 for a delicious, nicely decorated cake that could generously serve 12 people, and probably reasonably serve 18 or more. It was also one of the smaller cakes available! I don't know if there were any smaller fancy desserts available - but if I need a cake for a special occasion, I'll definitely return. If you need a cake for a special occasion in a hurry, La Baguette is the place to go. read more

Great cake at a reasonable price. This was the first time I used this location and I was very happy with it. I bought a baptism sheet cake and it was around $100 with the strawberry filling (which is extra). The cake was delicious and ready to be picked up at the promised time. You can leave a deposit when you order the cake and then pay off the rest once you pick it up. Also there is extra parking right next door on the east side of the building. The actual parking lot is pretty small and it is shared with a restaurant so the additional parking made it easy to carry the big cake. read more

I had a horrible experience. I ordered my daughters cake for her birthday. When I went in to place my order a week before my event I paid in FULL right there and then. I figured I didnt want to worry about it when picking it up. Well when I went to pick it up during my party I ran in since I live really close by. right as I was about to walk out, the lady that works there tells me I owed her $40 more. I was upset since I brought no money and I thought I paid in FULL. She told me she charged me wrong and told me either I paid for it or she would have to pay from her pocket. She made me feel bad for HER own mistake. I wouldn't care about paying her if I had a least got an apology or a phone call when they cought the mistake. At least gave me a heads up. I dont recommend at all they almost ruined my daughter's party for something that was not my fault I was priced wrong. read more

While on a recent visit to Melrose park, I was introduced to La Baguette Bakery by my parents. I was impressed by the quality of their baked goods, I decided to place order for a birthday cake. While after a little hiccup, I ended up cancelling my cake order-I can truly say, I was impressed by the great customer service provided by Jesus -the way he took time to personally address my concerns and made sure I was fully satisfy. So Disappointed. Picked up my son's birthday cake on Saturday and though it was very nicely designed it was dry and tasted as if it had been in the refrigerator for days. Frosting was not even frothy, it was sticky. I thought I was the only one who noticed until others in the party started asking where I bought it because it tasted stale. For a $120 cake I would've expected a delicious cake. I came to La Baguette upon reading reviews here on Yelp and went off of the good reviews. But I guess everyone has different experiences.
