Agua

The staff here is very nice and the dining area and restrooms were very clean. The food was good. Some items better than others. The taco was not that good, the fish had a weird taste to it and everything together just didn't work. The agua chile was really good and I loved that the gave you extra salsa on the side in case you wanted to make it spicier. The asada fries according to my nephew said it was good. The cocktail was also ok but it needed a lot of added items to make it taste good. Over all the food was good but I think I would come back for the agua chile. Also the aguas were very tasty, you can tell they were made fresh and not powdered ingredients.

I came in for Taco Tuesday. I ordered a shrimp taco and a fish taco for $5. I also ordered 3 Asada tacos for $5. I liked the shrimp taco more than the fish. The Asada tacos were really good. I used both of the spicy salsas and the cilantro onion mix for the Asada tacos. I wish there was more cilantro in the mix. I love cilantro. Everything is made fresh so your order will take time. Everyone is really nice, and the place is super clean.

I hosted a gathering of tennis friends on a Saturday lunch time. As you can see there were a lot of ppl and EVERYONE really enjoyed all the food items. We had different items, good variety, friendly service and staff. We had a great time there and the staff and owners really cared about us. Staff took picture with us !!!! Try this place for a casual gathering, always clean and spacious.

New cevicheria spot in Orange. Great prices. Blanca was super nice and helpful Ceviche. Huge portion. Taste really fresh. Good quality seafood Fish taco was pretty good. 3 bucks every day price is a great deal. Shrimp taco wasn't as crispy as I like. Maybe I was here earlier in the day. I'll try again or stick to fish tacos Michelada for 7 bucks. They make the mix. Not bad It's huge Good salsas. Great service great food. And excellent pricing.

5 = food 5 = service 5 = ambience Food was so good. I ordered their grilled fish taco and Governador shrimp taco. The shrimp taco comes with Chipotle sauce, melted cheese and Pico de Gallo. The fish taco was amazing. Grilled white fish, cabbage, pico de gallo, chipotle sauce & house crema aoli on a corn tortilla. Both sauces made it delish. My mouth was very happy :) It's mostly a seafood place (e.g. shrimp, fish, octopus). The decor is fun with the grass hut as the register. Mexican music adds to the atmosphere. They cash prices so that's great.

First time here and I will say their prices and customer service were the best part of this restaurant. Unfortunately their tacos were very bland and lacked flavor but I did enjoy their rice and beans. If I'm being honest, I think they tasted way better than the tacos. The interior was very clean and there was plenty of seating. I do hope they improve in flavor and do well, but I sadly won't return.

Would have to try again, the taste of the fish taco was good but it was soggy. The consistency made it mushy. Husband said the shrimp burrito was just ok.

Small hole in the wall in the strip mall behind the chevron station, i had friends recommend this place and decided to give it a try. Service was excellent, i went around 2:30 and nobody was in there, the cashier was friendly and answered all my questions about portions and the food itself. The restaurant is small but with seating and they have soccer and other sports playing on the TVs. Portions are pretty good, i got 2 orders or shrimp ceviche and 2 orders of the aguachile shrimps. My favorite of the two is the shrimp ceviche for sure, but i loved the spice of the aguachiles. Because of portions, i might have over done it, i think 1 and 1 of each would have been more than enough. For my order today i spend 62.00 bucks , which at first i wasn't ok with but the portions do justify it compared to other places. Flavor is good, and was filling. My daughter ate a whole tray and said it was "mid" def going back to try the pulpo and the other non ceviche items they have.

Ordered two more fish tacos today and tropical mango shrimp ceviche, very fresh and delicious and all their in-house sauces are very good, especially the Baja hot sauce! Nom nom! I was too hungry so I ate the tacos by the time I decided to take a photo haha

I can make this at home for less than what i paid.

MSG! Im allergic to MSG and woke up to pain and puffiness. The fish tacos were so so. Not going back. If you can't make salsa without adding Knorr bullion seasoning, then you shouldn't make salsa. The Aguachile was so basic. Saying anything against it would literally be putting down shrimp, lime, avocado, onion, and cucumber because that's literally all that it was. Not returning

So awesome! New place, super clean, super fresh fare and super attentive. Our ceviche brought back fond memories of our stay in the Yucatan province and their rich food traditions... fish tacos ditto, so fresh and maybe even better when there's a choice of double tortillas to keep them more together. Governator taco is nice but the regular items are at least just as nice. Hopefully they can stay in business for a long time as the prices are really decent.... $26.00 for a very good amount of food and a fresh jamaica drink.

Very clean and classic decor. I've always been a fan of this style of Mexican food and I'm very critical of Ensenada style tacos. This place meets my standard of a great battered fish or shrimp taco. Their salsa bar accompanies the food in a tremendous way. The green tomatillo salsa is just smokey enough to pair super well with the seafood. The service was impeccable as they even brought the food to my table. I'll definitely be back to try some of the ceviche and other items.

Start cleaning out underneath your table pushing you out as fast as they can. The bar just closes down not even announcing a last call. And what is with those awful margaritas. I can't believe that a Michelin feathered Mexican restaurant can serve such awful margaritas. And I am not alone as I mentioned it to another Restaurant crowd and they agreed and said they were probably the worst margaritas in Orange. I don't know whether it's the mix or the amount of alcohol or what it is but they come out watery and really sour. A totally good dining experience has to encompass everything, food is only 50% of the deal the other 50% is service with a smile, and this one lacks it. Now there could be a reason for this epic shutdown at 9 PM. But I wonder what it is? Santa Monica seafood in Santa Monica on Wilshire Boulevard has to have last orders in by 8:30 because if they are not closed out by 10 o'clock entirely, the neighbors complain that they are putting out trash and making a noise after 10 so that I understand. But it took me a year to find that out from the owners. Restaurant owners are so stuck up and anal, I know I was one. Gabbi, whom I have never seen, should spend a night or two watching her Restaurant closing up.

The beans did not taste watered down, and the enchiladas themselves were flavorful. I always worry about shrimp overpowering the sides of a dish but it tasted great. The rice was also really filling. We had a reservation and they seated us at a pretty big table, which I liked. The servers were very timely, kind, and knowledgeable about each dish on the menu and the rotating specials. The inside of the restaurant was HUGE. I'm pretty sure it was built inside of a church. I really liked the stained glass and elevated seating areas nearby, it reminded me of the Old Spaghetti Factory layout in Fullerton. Overall, I had a very positive experience. I had to get a Diet Coke and of course, it was crisp to my expectations. A little heads-up, unlike the Costa Mesa location, they do not have horchata. Nevertheless, I'd come here again to try their burritos, tostadas, and salads!

But once again one has this perfunctory service, that is service that is merely to get through a night and not to enhance a dining experience. So many restaurants now seem to have the same problem, that is servers who just want to get through the evening and get it over with. The service industry has really taken a dive since my day. I don't get it. Don't they get paid more than they used to just a year or two ago. Anyway, I do enjoy the Camerones. But, the dreadful flan that I was served. This is such a basic desert and very easy to make, but one can overcook the egg proteins easily and the whole thing is grainy, scrambled and not pleasant to eat. Basically it should be cooked in a Bain Marie. Probably a lost art. Avila's has several locations and one may differ from another. The one I ate at is in Orange.

The carnitas themselves are the star--tender, juicy pork that's been slow-cooked to perfection with that signature crispy edge on some pieces, delivering rich, savory flavor without being overly greasy. It's seasoned just right, with a nice balance of porky goodness and subtle spices that let the meat shine. Wrapped in a large, fresh flour tortilla (they make their own in-house, which always helps), it's stuffed generously with the classics: fluffy Mexican rice, creamy refried or whole beans (depending on your preference, but both work great), chopped onions, cilantro, and a solid dose of salsa. I went with their green salsa for a bright, tangy kick that cuts through the richness perfectly, plus a dollop of sour cream and cheese for that creamy melt. No skimping on portions here--it's hearty and filling, easily a meal that satisfies for hours. At around $10 (give or take, based on current pricing), it's a great value in the area. The burrito holds together well without falling apart mid-bite, and the overall balance of textures--tender meat, soft rice/beans, crisp onions--makes every mouthful enjoyable. If you're in the mood for classic carnitas done right in a casual, bakery-taqueria spot with great salsas and a friendly vibe, this one's definitely worth grabbing. I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5--only docking half a point because it's not reinventing the wheel, but it's executing the traditional style exceptionally well. Highly recommend if you're near 728 N Tustin St in Orange! Pair it with an horchata, yum
