Their empanadas are delicious! They're generously sized, filling, and definitely worth the price. They're even better when paired with their chimichurri sauce which adds so much flavor and complements the empanadas perfectly. Sadly when we ordered takeout, it seemed like the lid on the chimichurri container may have softened from the heat of the fresh empanadas or the hot weather, causing it to spill all over the empanadas. We still enjoyed the food, but it might be something to keep in mind when packaging takeout orders. The service is great and the ambiance is casual with plenty of seating both inside and outside. Overall, we'd happily order their empanadas again!

I only got pizza because I seen a sign that said buy one get one free and thought why not try. While the dough was nice and soft the pizza overall was mid. Very heavy on cheese. The dough was too thick, the cheese was too thick, yet there was barely any sauce. Over all I paid $17 for two pizzas and I guess I can say you get what you pay for. If you're low on cash but want some pizza this place will do the trick. But if you're looking for something super good this is not. I would say it gives Pizza Hut

Got a Beef and also a Chicken Empanada. Both were tasty. The dough was soft with crunchy edges. The filling was well seasoned and juicy. I tried both with the Chimichurri. However, I enjoyed them better as plain. I ended up liking the chicken better than the beef. Service was very friendly and prompt. No issues on parking.

Five year update ~ Patagonia is still going strong! The place has had some remodeling done. The inside has been rearranged but still has the welcoming vibe of sturdy woods and European charm. There is a patio out front with a covered canopy and café seating. The owners are still always present and welcoming their clients, both new and returning loyals. Empanadas as still excellent quality and the imported sweets and home made pastries are all delicious. Happy to be returning again and again :)

The empanadas here are perfect! So flavorful and well seasoned. They are stuffed well and baked nicely. I highly recommend!

Came here last night with my husband. We have been here plenty of times before for the delicious empanadas. But tonight we came and decided we were going to try something else . So we ordered the spicy sausage pasta and the prosciutto pizza. The pasta was in a pink sauce , it was very tasty not spicy at all . The pizza was very different . The crust is thick and crispy and it didn't have to much cheese then it's topped with arugula and lots of prosciutto. It was a great dinner and the girls working were very nice . They recently added outside sitting, even though last night was too cold and windy to sit outside. Oh and they have delicious desserts! I bought the delicious bread pudding,it's so good with a taste of orange and raisins and they top it off with dulce de leche and a delicious syrup. Great place.

Stopped by for a quite bite and service was pretty fast! I liked the spinach cheese empanada and the beef one. I wish the spicy chicken was not as dry but overall yummy empanadas!

My friend suggested to try this empanada place so we stopped by here after hiking on a Saturday. There were a few customers sitting at the patio tables and there were also some tables indoors. Saw sign outside the restaurant that it had the best pizzas so I'd definitely want to try next time. I decided to try the chipotle beef empanada. Took a few minutes to cook and it came with chimichurri sauce. It was definitely bigger than expected as my friend kept saying that it's small. I poured the entire container of chimichurri sauce inside the empanada and it was good! Although it kind of overpowered the spicy beef taste so next time maybe I try first without the sauce.

Patagonia Empanadas is a cute little hole in the wall find. You don't see many places like these anymore. We ordered several items to try- 2 beef empanadas, 2 spinach and cheese empanadas, a chicken milanesa with fries, super lomo sandwich, Buenos Aires lomito sandwich, and alfojor covered in chocolate. Our favorites were the sandwiches. The og Buenos Aires lomito consisted of ribeye, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. My husband said it reminded him of the lomitos he got in Argentina except there, the ribeye steak was much more thick and of course the sandwiches were cheaper. However despite that, my husband said the flavor was the same and it brought back memories. We also enjoyed the super lomo which is essentially the same as the og except with added pancetta, cheese, and fried egg. The empanadas were okay even though it's in the namesake. They were on the dryer end. The chicken milenesa was delicious, tender, and crispy. The alfajor, which is two shortbread cookies with dulce de leche sandwiched in between, was covered in chocolate and sinfully decadent. We will definitely come back if we're in the area. I would try more desserts and I'd probably get the lomito again.

Patagonia is a fresh dive into authentic Argentinian cuisine. Empanadas are freshly made after ordering. Feels like you are in someone's house by the homemade tasting dishes, inviting hospitality and family guests atmosphere.

What an amazing hole in the wall cafe that serves a selection of very unique empanadas. They also have a selection of Italian and Argentine food along with pastries and coffee. I just ran in for a coffee and discovered an unexpected culinary universe. The coffee was good, a nice medium roast latte. My friend kept on saying, we have to come back here to celebrate someone's birthday.... He really liked the menu here and the pastries. Parking is tight. I actually walked over from the adjacent center. Casual. Indoor and outdoor seating. Please come and create your own adventure.

I have been coming to Patagonia for a couple years now, and I really enjoy their food! Granted I only ever order empanadas, but they keep me coming back for more because they are too delicious! The shop is small but there is a lot of seating between the inside and the patio. I always see people here watching soccer, or whatever is playing at the time. It seems like a nice place to grab some good food and watch a game! My favorite empanadas are the spinach, the Arab, and the chicken. I feel like I never eat enough veggies so I get a spinach empanada and it makes me feel better about my dietary choices! Each order of empanadas includes a teeny little cup of chimichurri. You can get more chimichurri if you want to pay for a larger container of it. It is absolutely delicious and tastes fresh. The tiny container is too small for dipping so you'll probably have to pour it out onto each delicious bite of the food. That's what works for me! The Arab has a delicious savory beef filling with a touch of lemon that gives a nice acidic bite. It is a favorite of mine and my family loves it too! The chicken enpanada is juicy and flavorful, too. All of the empanadas are generously filled and just a couple of them make a meal for me! Then again, I don't eat large portions but I digress. The spinach empanada is packed full of tasty spinach that is well seasoned and I believe there is some cheese in there too. You can get pastries and desserts here. I haven't ordered anything from the pastry case yet, but all of it looks tempting! I have tried a little packaged alfajor at the counter. I don't remember what brand it was from but they are in a little basket at the register. The service here has always been fine for me. I know some reviews suggest otherwise, but in my experience, if you don't cause a problem you won't have a problem. The food is always served hot and fresh, the chimichurri is delicious. I can easily consider this place my favorite empanada spot in OC!

Does this place offer a mix assortment price for the empanadas? Wondering if it would be possible to order as a dozen since all the choices look great and difficult to choose.

You can order by the piece. But I don't recall seeing a discounted price by the dozen if that's what you meant.

Not really, there's vegetarian options but not vegan

Its been a while since I've been here. Do they still have an option where they sort of half bake them and you finish it off at home? How does that work?

Hi Edgard, this is George the owner of Patagonia Empanadas. Yes, we do have that option. You can get the empanadas half-baked so you warm them up for 7 minutes at 350 degrees in you oven or you can buy them frozen.…

Can you get them without bell peppers (or any other pepper)? I ask because I am allergic to them. Thank you!

Hi Michelle; Unfortunately our family recipes are made as is to preserve the authenticity of our food but in the other hand we do offer some flavors without peppers. I hope…

Do you offer gluten free empanadas?

Hi; Unfortunately we don't offer gluten free Empanadas. Sorry for the inconvenience.…

    Are there vegan options?

Hi Laurie; yes, we do have four vegetarian empanadas. Spinach (cheese, onions and spinach), Creamy corn (corn, cream of corn, onions), Sun-dried Tomatoes (cheese, kalamata…

The tomatoes were hearty and cut a perfect thickness. Could have used more balsamic for me, but my husband liked it fine. Chef special: Swordfish picatta with mashed potatoes, vegetables & tiny salad - 4/5 This was good. The picatta sauce was delicious and the fish cooked perfectly. I would have liked a mix of different vegetables. Lasagna - 5/5 - this was my favorite. It was cheesy, served very hot, the noodles were not mushy. Just deliciousness on a plate. The service at the bar was outstanding. Our server was attentive and offered us as much bread as we wanted. He went over the menu and offered suggestions. We only drank water and the cup was always full. He was great! Seating - there was plenty of seating, so was not sure why we were only offered a choice of 2 tables both basically on top of the party next to you. I feel they can do better in that department. There was seating outside, which was also offered, but it was way too hot and humid that day to dine al fresco. We ending up sitting at the bar. Forced tipping: They add a "kitchen appreciation" fee to your bill, which I did not care for. I feel this is tacky, but if they are doing this, it should be posted somewhere that they are, feels sneaky otherwise. The food was very good & I will likely be back to try other dishes.

My husband and I came across the restaurant on a Saturday at 430pm. We had our baby stroller and have been mindful on avoiding dinner rushes while going to restaurants, just in case. The Host asked us if we were a party of "3 and a half" which we laughed and said yes. We waited outside where there is patio seating and only a couple of tables taken. Inside, there were people at the bar and maybe one table occupied. The rest were open. I could see through the windows that the staff made a big deal about the stroller, they were walking around making hand motions as to where the stroller would "fit" mind you we've been to plenty of restaurants where this has NEVER been an issue. They came out to speak to us twice stating they were looking for a spot. I told my husband we should just eat elsewhere but he insisted on waiting. We did not want to sit outside due to it being hot. The host finally returned and said that they have reservations and can seat us at a table but we have an hour limit due to the reservation. My husband obliged b/c he was hungry, and I was annoyed. We got seated in the back which is fine by the big display of wine and our stroller replaced a chair. Which idk why that wasn't suggested or thought of in the first place. Our server was very nice but the other staff just kept side eyeing us. Dinner was rushed, it was tasty yet over priced. Our baby slept the entire time, No fuss thankfully. What were they to do if they had someone in a wheel chair and couldn't accommodate space? I know the comparison is far fetched compared to a stroller however it was the first time I ever encountered this. Since someone else made a comment about them not being seated due to a stroller, I would suggest avoiding this restaurant if you have small children as it seems it's not welcomed. Again, we were mindful and have been going to dinner before 5pm.

I ordered the Arrabiata pasta with the sausage. I'll admit I was a little thrown off by added cost of each tolling and also added cost of the Arrabiata sauce and I also did wait until a fair amount before the food was ready for takeout. Wanted to try something new so we choose here. Husband loved his plate! My chicken parm wasn't what I expected, it was on the dryer side and no sauce on it. It didn't have a crunchy crust on it either which I was expecting. Not the best for me but I think if we go back I'll have to try something else Staff was friendly
