Winded up here on a recommendation, we had some Business in Carson today so the short drive was worth it. We were there in the afternoon so many baked goods were gone but we had lunch and the sandwiches were fantastic!!! Tuna melt uses dill pickle which is my favorite! The turkey melt was my choice of the best sando today! Friends had cold turkey and a pastrami and they raved about their choices. I love choosing my favorite fresh baked bread ( sourdough) when we order sandwiches. We tried a gluten-free lemon bar that was tart and refreshing and a peanut butter chocolate bar. The pb was a silky creme over a chocolate brownie like cake and a thick hardened chocolate top. So good! Added bonus this afternoon a large doe walked down the road as we ate. When we left we caught sight of several more and then a block away a few more. Wildlife and great food !! Honestly I'd drive to Carson for lunch here anytime. I am blown away by the quality of food. I got here at LA bakery! I had the turkey melt sandwich as well as some peanut butter cookies. That turkey melt sandwich was incredibly well made, and full flavor! On top of that, they make their own red for the sandwich, which blew me away! And just biting into it, one could tell the quality bread that they used for the sandwich. It was crispy, consistent, and freshly tasting. On top of that, the peanut butter cookies were excellent! Had food delivered to work today, and I was not impressed. It was good food not great. No salt on the fries, my husband had the Philly cheesesteak wrap and it had NO CHEESE. I had the LA BLAT and it was very dry and the bacon was so hard I had to take it off, and one leaf of lettuce. I have had the falafel gyro before and that was delicious. We've been here a few times now and I really want to like it. It is a great space with lots of seating, big windows and a friendly atmosphere. The brewed coffee is also quite good and you can grab your own refills. Servers are generally friendly. Unfortunately the food isn't that great and it's expensive for what you get. I had a good morning bagel with bacon, I thought the bacon would have been separate but it was chopped up and mixed in with the eggs, and that mixture was overcooked. It was on a cheese bagel but it didn't taste like a bagel, more like a crusty bun. I managed to eat half. My husband's breakfast burrito was ok. We've tried some of the baked goods and while they look great, they are hit and miss. Our last blueberry muffin was dry and only had a couple of blueberries on top - none inside. We have been searching for a go to pie place but unfortunately we were disappointed with these pies. We ordered 4 different pies for Christmas. Apple, pumpkin, blackberry, and sugar free berry. The pumpkin pie was underwhelming and not enough spice/ bland. The crusts weren't flaky like we were hoping. Everything about this cafe feels like a cozy home! A small trinket shop welcomes you at the entrance of the cafe. Per Barista Kat, I ordered a chorizo wrap, and it's the best chorizo I have yet to taste! 11/10. The LA Specialty wrap was super good, 9/10. Cardamom Latte with oat milk and a shot of espresso is now my fav new espresso drink, 20/10! Grabbed the Fall Maple Salad for our hike later on! A fellow yelper referred me to this place since I as coming to Carson for the day. Man, they did not disappoint!! I came in at breakfast, and after perusing through the menu I decided to get the good morning bagel. I chose a plain bagel, with egg, bacon and Swiss cheese. It was absolutely perfect and filled me up for hours! All of their bakery items looked phenomenal, and their menu had way more options than I would have expected. My sandwich tasted like it had set out for a long time one side of the bread was soft and the other side was dry, I had 2slices of roast beef , a green tomato sliced up and soggy wilted Roman lettuce ! I also got a cup over priced coffee! ! My family had hamburgers and an order of fries and a soda each and an order of fries! Again the buns were dry and they had the same experience as I did! The food itself was quite good, but the staff was disrespectful. As we were dining, they started vacuuming and mopping the floors. We were dining with my disabled mother who is disabled and walking with a cane. We were worried she would slip. We understand we were dining a few minutes past closing, but we had paid 145$ between the four of us. Also, they forgot to add the dressing to my mother's salad. We felt rushed to end our meal. The pastries that I got were overpriced for what they were. The Neopolatin was soggy and not flavorful. I got the tiramisu yesterday and it was not tiramisu. I ordered the Falalfel Wrap with no veggie and tzatziki sauce. The wrap was huge and the absolute best falafel I've had in a long time. There was so much feta and sauce it was dripping out which is MY FAVORITE. I ordered the tiramisu and it was...... different. It was a chocolate bowl with tiramisu moose and lady fingers on top. The flavor was great but it was soooo rich. A few more lady fingers would have balanced the texture. My friend ordered the BLTA and fries with an eclair to go. The eclair was a great price and this is a usual order for her so I know it's good. The service was so friendly and conversation at the register flowed so easily. This used to be one of our favorite lunch places, always fresh and abundant, but it's now been crossed off the list. After getting a sandwich that consisted of the last of the roast beef and the end of the loaf of bread, we hadn't been back for a while. But, sometimes shit happens and maybe it was just a fluke, so we gave it another shot today. The sandwiches were small and light on meat, and although the roast beef was good, there wasn't much of it. The turkey sandwich consisted of a slice of mushy turkey with a touch of cranberry and lettuce with no body at all. Disappointing. For $30 we will be trying something else. read more

For years I've seen and heard all of the amazing things said about this bakery in Carson City and I've patiently waited for my chance to visit. Apparently I only go to Carson on the days they're closed,m. Well, that was only true until a few weeks ago when the stars aligned and I got to go for lunch. The space is light and bright, open and inviting. At the lunch hour it's also quite busy with lots of happy patrons enjoying pastries, sandwiches, salads and housemade soups with a healthy side of great conversation and connection. There's a main dining room, a smaller dining room that's a bit quieter and a patio to choose from, and we decided to soak up the sun! Be warned, there isn't a lot of shade outside. I couldn't decide what to order. At first I thought I'd go for a sandwich because it's a bakery and every great sandwich starts with great bread. The grilled ham and cheese was the one, but talk amongst our group of healthier fare lead me to the Ultimate plate with chicken! I'd call this dish an "un-salad" because it's most likely one but has a lot that makes it feel different. Reading the description I thought I was getting a beautiful plate of sliced grilled veggies with a piece of chicken, goat cheese over the top and pita with dressing, but it ended up being chopped veggies, perfectly grilled with chopped chicken and crumbled goat cheese melting over the top. Not what I expected but also not disappointing either. Very satisfying. My only complaint was the chicken. It was a little dry and a little rubbery. Still edible and ok, though I expected a bit better for the price. I need to come back with a pastry posse because there is as a case full of delicious I want to explore!
