Great food! I was recently recommended to come here for lunch next time I am in carson city, so I did. The building is nestled near the old town part of carson city just off of the main drag. The parking lot is right in front of the main building and the back area has outdoor seating. The menu is pretty easy to navigate, I asked the hostess what she recommended, and she told me that they're known for their burgers, I took her recommended order and I was pleased. The burger was very tasty and homemade tasting. They have all sorts of baked goods here from cakes to macaroons. I did order a gluten free lemon bar, that I still have dreams about. Lol. Woman owned and women employed. So the food is delicious. Not the soup but the other stuff. I've ordered that burger a few times since via door dash. A waitress actually dropped a French fry in my water and she didn't replace it or even take it to off the table. That's why I knocked to a 4. There's a small boutique in there, featuring local artists which I really love. It's cute, quaint and I will go back there a lot before door dash stops me. read more

I love love love L.A. Bakery. Whenever I'm in town - I go back and forth like "do I really need a pastry" and the answer is always yes. If you want true breakfast pastries: scones, croissants, bear claws - you better get there early. I came in at 9:30 on a Thursday and they were wiped out! They offer a fantastic selection of gluten free pastries and treats as well as some food food options like sandwiches, omelets, bagels and more. I highly recommend the wake up bagel because it's a flaky brioche like bagel or the tasty tuna sandwich. The cannoli is phenomenal as is the tiramisu. This is also a one stop shop for gifts - they have gift certificates, locally made jewelry, photography prints, and more! Went here for the first time recently and then had to visit a second time in the same week because it was so delicious. The first time I had the Bondi sandwich on a ciabatta roll. The second time I had the turkey melt on a ciabatta roll with Parmesan fries. We also got a pecan tart and a tiramisu chocolate cup to go. The sandwiches were great and the sweets were amazing. The fries were good and fresh but I would skip the Parmesan in the future because i was expecting shredded Parmesan of some sort that would melt but it was the kind out of a container you put on pasta. I stopped in again here recently and had a great experience per usual! We tried the good morning bagel and the veggie sandwich. Both were really good and something we would order again. Visited today with some friends. BLTAs were a win, latte was a win, gf lemon bar was so good, gf cheesecake kinda hard and bland though. It remains a good spot to meet people so you can pay separately at the front. The tip option was a fail though, starts out at 20% and goes up or offers an no tip option. While the staff was very nice, it is not an order at the table restaurant (they do bring an item out if it needs to be brought by a number system) and with that said I did not want to tip 20% but I also did not want to not tip. I looked at the machine for so long when presented with the option the lady asked if I needed help and I said "there's no custom option," and she said yeah we get a lot of complaints about that.... hmmmm so I'm no the only one. I went for lunch with my two other friends, who also have never been. I ordered the hot pastrami sandwich and a bag of chips. My friends ordered the salmon sandwich and the soup of the day ( asparagus ) . It was a little busy, as it was the lunch rush, however the wait to receive the food was reasonable. My pastrami sandwich was good, bread toasted and pickles were crispy. The sandwich was good tasting with a good amount of pastrami. My friend had the salmon sandwich, which she said was good and reminded her more of salmon lox bagel than a salmon sandwich. The asparagus soup came out in a giant pint sized cup, which I would love to have a a coffee mug! My friend stated the soup was good, but was a bit heavy with seasoning, but other wise good. The ambiance was great, peaceful and tranquil. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice sunny weather! There is indoor seating options and a rear patio. Since this is a bakery... we, of course had to try some sweets. I had a moist fudge brownie! Went along perfect with coffee as a dessert after lunch! This sad little sandwich is what was given to me at 11.99 ! A fricken Costco dinner roll with a small dab of cream cheese and 1 small slice of lox folded over to make it look a little larger. And it was buttered? Maybe this was the first time the employee made one of these ? In that case it falls squarely on the management as they have not trained them properly. However, we picked up some cupcakes, a slice of chocolate cake, and a tub of potato salad. It's a little pricey, so I took off a star. But, the young ladies helping us were still friendly and professional at the end of their work day. Now on to the cupcakes... the frostings on the strawberry and carrot cake cupcakes were not very sweet at all and there was a lot of it! They are very cute and presentable. Cute cozy place to hunker down with your laptop or read a book while you watch the snow fall outside. Service was really personable and the young woman behind the counter was very passionate about the display case. I am however a little disappointed in the filling of the napoleon and eclair. Both pastries are famously known for being filled with pastry cream and both of these were filled with a whipped cream blend of im not sure what. The food is good, but the overall ambiance could use some refinement. Some staff appearances--like prominent tattoos, raggedy clothes that force you to look at tats on hips...etc.. nose rings, and edgy accessories--may not appeal to all diners and can distract from the dining experience. I found it hard to look at and distracting personally. It's not really possible either to just look out the window at all times while eating. The "style" raises questions in my mind as to professionalism and attention to customers dining experiences. Unfortunately, given the way they talk and act behind the counter I think the response to this particular customer would be --"f-you sweetheart!" An oddball business model that likely is scary to grandma....but whatevahhhh....; the food was in fact TASTY ....though after eating the chorizo wrap I felt --uhg/urpy. This may seem like a low bar, but it's nice to go to a casual place that serves you coffee in an actual mug. In addition, baristas at LA bakery know how to properly make lattes and cappuccinos. I'm not a biggest fan of the sandwiches they serve for the price, but you come to a bakery primarily for the coffee and pastries (I'd hope). While I don't have any sensitivities or allergies, it's nice that they have both fresh and packaged items that are allergen-friendly (gluten-free and dairy-free). Everyone is hostile and the cashier doesn't even know the menu. I was scared that my stepmom was gonna get strangled for asking for almond milk because they immediately interrupted her with a nasty tone saying they don't have it and acted like she was crazy for even asking for it. They deep fried our bagels and their menu is so limited and lied to my friend that they had no option for croissants until after she paid for it. They have horrible costumer service and didn't think to bring any utensils so my friend had to grab one handful of everything and literally as she was reaching for a fork some random employee asserted that the forks were right in front of her. The food flavors and variety has only expanded! I have to visit with a preplanned budget as nearly everything (including the sugar, gluten, et al FREE") as they look and taste magnificent! I've had this place bookmarked, and finally made it here. The weather was perfect for a drive down. We would of never stopped by, if it wasn't for Yelp! When we drove up, we were impressed with how bright the outside name was painted and the cute patio setting. Walked in, was already busy with customers in line and dining. There are two sides, one for online orders and the other for ordering. The display case was amazingly filled witty decadent pastries! I got the pastrami, hubby got the tuna panini, and for dessert a Napoleon. The sandwiches, were Great! Very generous portions of tuna and pastrami. The bread we picked was soUrdough, thick and crusty! Next time we will try the "bondi". I did notice a lot of customers picking up cakes and breads. I love bakeries, and this was quite a find. They did offer Greek salads and gyros, and baklava, so I'm assuming the owners are Greek. Maybe one day they will offer Greek fries! read more

They said they made an announcement but we did not hear a thing. You would think they would at least honor the people waiting to order. Sad to see it go.
