Stopped here for lunch on our trip and found them to have a larger menu with good variety and great prices. This is a smaller, quiet restaurant, with plenty of parking out front. The service was great and we were able to order our food quickly. The tacos tasted very good... What a bargain! Recommended!

Excellent food, friendly service, overall great experience!! I came in for a late Friday lunch (~1:30pm) and Edson took great care of me. I ordered the al pastor, carne asade (my fave, seasoned very well), fried fish, and carnitas tacos. He prepared these "the bamba" style way rather the standard way, which ended up being $5/taco, $6.25 for fish. This meant the generous protein sat atop melty cheese, and was piled high with a plethora of toppings. The yellow corn tortillas are very soft, and larger than the standard "street taco". These went fabulously with an ice cold horchata ($6.75). They also had birria, but were out of shrimp for the day. I heard their desserts were good, so got a split order ($6.5) of sopapillas (puffy fried dough in cinnamon sugar) and churros. Both were veryyyy good, and the perfect sweet finish to the meal. The churros even had a filling (dulce du leche??). When I was eating, I saw (tbh heard) them making fresh watermelon agua frescas, which I tempted to order to go, but I think I would have exploded if I consumed anything else. Wish the prices were marked for transparency, because the food seriously talks for itself. Otherwise, would have been 5-stars. Ended up spending just under ~$35 pre-tax/tip for the meal (3 tacos, 1 special taco, horchata, dessert), but kept me full for the whole day. He also has a massive combo board if you're with a group that he will recommend that looked delicious. Absolutely worth a stop if you're in the area!

You know me I'm always down for a taco and always have a huge list of places I still haven't been, but want to. La Bamba has been on my list forever and though fairly close to me in a neighboring city I've never made my way until today. According to The Phoenix New Times it's in the top 12 best taco spots in the valley. Located in El Mirage it's in a very unassuming shopping center with a small parking area. I hate to say it but I've driven by so many times and never even noticed thats where it's at. The sign is almost unrecognizable. I had mapped the location today so I finally noticed only because I was looking for it. The inside is quite small with a few tables and bar top seating. The menu is very small and you guessed it mostly tacos. You won't find rice and beans here or even a burrito. Tuesdays they offer Birria along with their usual tacos and tonight they let us know they'd be making tostadas. Their social media lets you know specials and such of items not always on the menu. Service works different here. By that I mean besides the wall menu and word of mouth from the employees you order at the counter. No one really tells you until the guy at the counter asks you lol. They have canned sodas, water etc. tacos come four to an order. We love our tacos so we ordered pastor, asada, chicken, shrimp. The presentation was awesome and it was like a charcuterie board of my dreams with pico and cucumbers etc. hot sauce was hot for sure. The man helping us even brought us over some Mexican sushi they made to try. It was very good. I'm a shrimp taco fanatic, but honestly the pastor won today! That little bit of spicy with the fruit topping was phenomenal. Service started a bit slow as they were busy and ony two people working, but once we had our turn it was wonderful the entire rest of the visit. Evryone including other customers were so kind. We genuinely felt so welcomed and appreciated. Prices were pretty fair for how full the tacos were. They don't skimp here! Have you been? What's your favorite taco spot?

We went to La Bamba on Saturday night and it was AMAZING! We took it home because we live so close. Edson Garcia is also doing Mexican sushi now and oh my goodness, it is perfection. Service is awesome and everyone is so kind and friendly, especially Edson! I like the vibes here too. It's small but a great local spot that makes you feel like family. Everything was delicious and I'm not sure anyone can beat these shrimp tacos; they are my absolute favorite.

Best taco's I ever ate!! Four of us had the platter of twelve, 4 el pastor, 4 birria, 4 carne asada, 4 fish. All delicious!

Best taco's I ever ate!! Four of us got the plate of twelve, a combo of birria, carne asada, el pastor and fish. Sooooo good! Loved the atmosphere and people! We're going back!!

Ate here for the first time this week! The Tacos were amazing. They are the best tacos I have EVER had. Spoke to the owner Edson and was impressed by His Story and God's grace. Found the place to go whenever we feel like tacos!

If tacos had a personality test, these would score "fresh, legendary, and made-with-love." La Bamba Mexican Grill isn't just a taco spot, it's a cozy front-row seat to taco greatness. The owner/chef makes everything right in front of you, using fresh ingredients only, and you can taste the difference immediately. No mystery meat, no sad tortillas, no shortcuts, just tacos done the right way. Every bite tastes like someone actually cared about it (because they did). The flavors are spot-on, the portions are generous, and the tacos are so good they make you briefly question every taco decision you've ever made before this moment. And Edison, the owner/chef? Hands down one of the nicest humans you'll meet. Friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what he's making, which somehow makes the tacos taste even better. Bottom line: If you like amazing tacos, fresh ingredients, and supporting genuinely great people, this place is a must. Simply the best tacos in El Mirage, no exaggeration. I came hungry. I left happy.

They should update the hours. Saw great reviews and wanted to check it out. Drove 45 mins for it to be closed today.
